I mistakenly used some Tajik pictures, I apologize for that! Anyway, this doesn't change the fact that many Tajiks are persified Turks. Anthropologically, Tajik are more related to their Turkic neighbors.

The Uyghur people are a Turkic ethnic group living in Central Asia for the most part. The vast majority of the Uyghurs live in what is today called 'Xinjiang', part of the People's Republic of China. Considerable Uyghur communities also live in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
This video was made in China's Xinjiang province (some Uyghurs prefer the term 'East Turkestan'), and gives an impression of the traditions and remaining culture I encountered while traveling through the region. There are images of Kashgar, Hotan and smaller villages in the area.
I used a traditional Uyghur song to accompany the images.

Brief history of Uyghurs in Xinjiang (by Sogdia)
** Before Chinese Han Dynasty 200 BC:
Central Asia was a region predominately occupied by ancient Persian tribes such as the sedentary Sogdians ( 粟特), Chorasmians (花剌子模) and, the semi-nomadic such as Scythians (斯基泰, 西徐亞, 塞種), and Alans (奄蔡). The ancient sedentary population played an important role in the history of Central Asia. Tajiks, Pashtuns (普什图), Pamiris (塔吉克) and other Persian groups are still present in the region. The ancient Persian language (Dari) is still the official language in Afganistan and in some areas in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Turkic group of people, such as Uyghurs, came to Central Asia very late in history (after 800 AD), much later than Han Chinese did in 200 BC.
** Chinese Han Dynasty in Xinjiang (206 BC to 220 AD):
Han Chinese extended its power influence in the forms of territory and protectorates in today's Xinjiang, part of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Today's Xinjinag was again under the power influence (protectorates and territory) of Tang Dynasty (618-907AD) and became territory of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD). Peoples Republic of China has taken over the territory sovereignty over Xinjiang from Qing Dynasty and Republic of China.
** Uyghur emigrated in Xinjiang (840-850 AD):
Uyghur Empires (742-848 AD, 回纥 or 回鶻) was in today's Mongolia with the capital at Ordu Baliq that located 300 km west of Ulaanbaatar (close to Town of Hotont) and it was annihilated by Kyrgyz tribe in 848 AD. The Kyrgyz destroyed and burned down every Uyghur cities and villages throughout the empire. Three groups of Uyghurs escaped from the annihilation. One group escaped to today's Gansu area and assimilated with Han Chinese. Another group escaped to today's Turpan in central Xinjiang. The last group escaped further west and scattered over today's Kashgar in south Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan, Tajkistan and Uzbekistan.
Uyghurs has never had appreciable presence in north Xinjiang. They are mostly concentrated in Kashgar, Khotan, Aksu, and Kizilsu areas in south Xinjiang and Turpan in central Xinjiang. Uyghur is about 46% of the total population in Xinjiang, Han 40% and Kazak 7%. To call Xinjiang as "UYGHUR" Autonomous Region" is highly debatable.
** Xiongnu, Turkics and Turks
Turkics/Turks are Turko-Mongolian Tribes originated from today's Mongolia area. The ancesters of Uyghurs (维吾尔) is Xiongnu (匈奴). The earliest written record of Xiongnu or Turk (Tujue, 突厥) in history was in Han Dynasty around 200BC. The earliest use of the term "Uyghur" in history was in Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534 AD). Earlier historical written records of Xiongnu, Turk or Uyghur are all done by Han Chinese because they lacked the ability of reading and writing.
The Reading and writing is an essential for any moderate sophisticated society during the evolution. Some civilization had never reached to such level of sophistication before it vanished. The transition from nomadic to sedentary is an important evolution in the early human civilization history. The four oldest human civilizations all arose on the basins of major rivers; Tigris-Euphrates, Nile, Indus and Yellow Rivers, where the fertile alluvial farm lands were easily found.
Farming, villages, cities, state-nation, different social classes, political and economic systems are the backbone of the civilization. In the process of evolution, the need for written records for economic and political affairs occurred naturally. That was why all these old civilization had evolved the writings as earlier as in 5000BC or 6000BC
The relatively primitive nature of Turkish/Turkic culture has always influenced by the outside cultures. First the Persian influence, then Arab, and European is the most recently.
All Turkic people have learnt how to read and write very late in human hostory. Uyghur was the first Turkic group learnt the reading and writing after they emigrated from Kyrgyz annihilation in Mongolia to today's Turpan and Tarim Basin. The writing script they used was from the ancient Persian Sogdiana script.
Arab had huge influence on Turks/Turkics after 800 or 900 AD as Turks/Turkics have adapted Islam religion and change into the Arabic scripts in writing.
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the father of modern Turkey, wanted to Europeanize Turks in 1920s with the intention to get rid of Arabic influence. He wanted Turks to dress like Europeans, and write like Europeans. However, after almost 60 years of continuous efforts, Turkey is still not accepted as the full membership at EU.
Thanks to the Chinese government for preserving the minority culture, All the Turkic minorities, including Uyghur, still uses the Arab writing script as today. All other Turkic or Turkish groups in other countries have changed to either Russian Cyrillic or Latin alphabet.

The Uyghurs /ˈwiːɡər/ (Uyghur: ئۇيغۇر, ULY: Uyghur ;[ʔʊjˈʁʊː]; Old Turkic: 
;Chinese: 维吾尔族; pinyin: Wéiwúěr zú) are a Turkic ethnic group living in Eastern and Central Asia. Today, Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, where they are one of 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities.
An estimated 80% of Xinjiang's Uyghurs live in the southwestern portion of the region, the Tarim Basin. Outside Xinjiang, the largest community of Uyghurs in China is in Taoyuan County, in south-central Hunan. Outside of China, significant diasporic communities of Uyghurs exist in the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, and in Turkey. Smaller communities are found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
They practice Islam and are a physically diverse ethnic group ranging from Western Eurasian (Europeans, Middle Eastern) to a more mixed race and East Asian appearance.

Today's Xinjinag was again under the power influence (protectorates and territory) of Tang Dynasty (618-907AD) and became territory of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD). Peoples Republic of China has taken over the territory sovereignty over Xinjiang from Qing Dynasty and Republic of China. ** Uyghur emigrated in Xinjiang (840-850 AD): Uyghur Empires (742-848 AD, 回纥 or 回鶻) was in today's Mongolia with the capital at Ordu Baliq that located 300 km west of Ulaanbaatar (close to Town of Hotont) and it was annihilated by Kyrgyz tribe in 848 AD. The Kyrgyz destroyed and burned down every Uyghur cities and villages throughout the empire. Three groups of Uyghurs escaped from the annihilation. One group escaped to today's Gansu area and assimilated with Han Chinese. Another group escaped to today's Turpan in central Xinjiang. The last group escaped further west and scattered over today's Kashgar in south Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan, Tajkistan and Uzbekistan. Uyghurs has never had appreciable presence in north Xinjiang. They are mostly concentrated in Kashgar, Khotan, Aksu, and Kizilsu areas in south Xinjiang and Turpan in central Xinjiang. Uyghur is about 46% of the total population in Xinjiang, Han 40% and Kazak 7%. To call Xinjiang as "UYGHUR" Autonomous Region" is highly debatable. ** Xiongnu, Turkics and Turks Turkics/Turks are Turko-Mongolian Tribes originated from today's Mongolia area. The ancesters of Uyghurs (维吾尔) is Xiongnu (匈奴). The earliest written record of Xiongnu or Turk (Tujue, 突厥) in history was in Han Dynasty around 200BC. The earliest use of the term "Uyghur" in history was in Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534 AD). Earlier historical written records of Xiongnu, Turk or Uyghur are all done by Han Chinese because they lacked the ability of reading and writing. The Reading and writing is an essential for any moderate sophisticated society during the evolution. Some civilization had never reached to such level of sophistication before it vanished. The transition from nomadic to sedentary is an important evolution in the early human civilization history. The four oldest human civilizations all arose on the basins of major rivers; Tigris-Euphrates, Nile, Indus and Yellow Rivers, where the fertile alluvial farm lands were easily found. Farming, villages, cities, state-nation, different social classes, political and economic systems are the backbone of the civilization. In the process of evolution, the need for written records for economic and political affairs occurred naturally. That was why all these old civilization had evolved the writings as earlier as in 5000BC or 6000BC The relatively primitive nature of Turkish/Turkic culture has always influenced by the outside cultures. First the Persian influence, then Arab, and European is the most recently. All Turkic people have learnt how to read and write very late in human hostory. Uyghur was the first Turkic group learnt the reading and writing after they emigrated from Kyrgyz annihilation in Mongolia to today's Turpan and Tarim Basin. The writing script they used was from the ancient Persian Sogdiana script. Arab had huge influence on Turks/Turkics after 800 or 900 AD as Turks/Turkics have adapted Islam religion and change into the Arabic scripts in writing. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the father of modern Turkey, wanted to Europeanize Turks in 1920s with the intention to get rid of Arabic influence. He wanted Turks to dress like Europeans, and write like Europeans. However, after almost 60 years of continuous efforts, Turkey is still not accepted as the full membership at EU. Thanks to the Chinese government for preserving the minority culture, All the Turkic minorities, including Uyghur, still uses the Arab writing script as today. All other Turkic or Turkish groups in other countries have changed to either Russian Cyrillic or Latin alphabet. -

The Uyghur people are a Turkic ethnic group living in Central Asia for the most part. The vast majority of the Uyghurs live in what is today called 'Xinjiang', part of the People's Republic of China. Considerable Uyghur communities also live in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. This video was made in China's Xinjiang province (some Uyghurs prefer the term 'East Turkestan'), and gives an impression of the traditions and remaining culture I encountered while traveling through the region. The Uyghur people are a Turkic ethnic group living in Central Asia for the most part. The vast majority of the Uyghurs live in what is today called 'Xinjiang', part of the People's Republic of China. Considerable Uyghur communities also live in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
This video was made in China's Xinjiang province (some Uyghurs prefer the term 'East Turkestan'), and gives an impression of the traditions and remaining culture I encountered while traveling through the region. There are images of Kashgar, Hotan and smaller villages in the area.
I used a traditional Uyghur song to accompany the images.

The ancient sedentary population played an important role in the history of Central Asia. Tajiks, Pashtuns (普什图), Pamiris (塔吉克) and other Persian groups are still present in the region. The ancient Persian language (Dari) is still the official language in Afganistan and in some areas in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Turkic group of people, such as Uyghurs, came to Central Asia very late in history (after 800 AD), much later than Han Chinese did in 200 BC.
** Chinese Han Dynasty in Xinjiang (206 BC to 220 AD):
Han Chinese extended its power influence in the forms of territory and protectorates in today's Xinjiang, part of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Today's Xinjinag was again under the power influence (protectorates and territory) of Tang Dynasty (618-907AD) and became territory of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD). Peoples Republic of China has taken over the territory sovereignty over Xinjiang from Qing Dynasty and Republic of China.
** Uyghur emigrated in Xinjiang (840-850 AD):
Uyghur Empires (742-848 AD, 回纥 or 回鶻) was in today's Mongolia with the capital at Ordu Baliq that located 300 km west of Ulaanbaatar (close to Town of Hotont) and it was annihilated by Kyrgyz tribe in 848 AD. The Kyrgyz destroyed and burned down every Uyghur cities and villages throughout the empire. Three groups of Uyghurs escaped from the annihilation. One group escaped to today's Gansu area and assimilated with Han Chinese. Another group escaped to today's Turpan in central Xinjiang. The last group escaped further west and scattered over today's Kashgar in south Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan, Tajkistan and Uzbekistan.
Uyghurs has never had appreciable presence in north Xinjiang. They are mostly concentrated in Kashgar, Khotan, Aksu, and Kizilsu areas in south Xinjiang and Turpan in central Xinjiang. Uyghur is about 46% of the total population in Xinjiang, Han 40% and Kazak 7%. To call Xinjiang as "UYGHUR" Autonomous Region" is highly debatable.
** Xiongnu, Turkics and Turks
Turkics/Turks are Turko-Mongolian Tribes originated from today's Mongolia area. The ancesters of Uyghurs (维吾尔) is Xiongnu (匈奴). The earliest written record of Xiongnu or Turk (Tujue, 突厥) in history was in Han Dynasty around 200BC. The earliest use of the term "Uyghur" in history was in Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534 AD). Earlier historical written records of Xiongnu, Turk or Uyghur are all done by Han Chinese because they lacked the ability of reading and writing.
The Reading and writing is an essential for any moderate sophisticated society during the evolution. Some civilization had never reached to such level of sophistication before it vanished. The transition from nomadic to sedentary is an important evolution in the early human civilization history. The four oldest human civilizations all arose on the basins of major rivers; Tigris-Euphrates, Nile, Indus and Yellow Rivers, where the fertile alluvial farm lands were easily found.
Farming, villages, cities, state-nation, different social classes, political and economic systems are the backbone of the civilization. In the process of evolution, the need for written records for economic and political affairs occurred naturally. That was why all these old civilization had evolved the writings as earlier as in 5000BC or 6000BC
The relatively primitive nature of Turkish/Turkic culture has always influenced by the outside cultures. First the Persian influence, then Arab, and European is the most recently.
All Turkic people have learnt how to read and write very late in human hostory. Uyghur was the first Turkic group learnt the reading and writing after they emigrated from Kyrgyz annihilation in Mongolia to today's Turpan and Tarim Basin. The writing script they used was from the ancient Persian Sogdiana script.
Arab had huge influence on Turks/Turkics after 800 or 900 AD as Turks/Turkics have adapted Islam religion and change into the Arabic scripts in writing.
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the father of modern Turkey, wanted to Europeanize Turks in 1920s with the intention to get rid of Arabic influence. He wanted Turks to dress like Europeans, and write like Europeans. However, after almost 60 years of continuous efforts, Turkey is still not accepted as the full membership at EU.
Thanks to the Chinese government for preserving the minority culture, All the Turkic minorities, including Uyghur, still uses the Arab writing script as today. All other Turkic or Turkish groups in other countries have changed to either Russian Cyrillic or Latin alphabet.

Uyghur Dance to "Gulloim" performed by Yalla from DANCE TREASURES OF UZBEKISTAN concert The Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group living in Eastern and Central Asia. Although today Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, there are also Uyghurs living in Uzbekistan. The music is performed by the famous Central Asian Ethno-pop band "Yalla" with the lead singer Farrukh Zokirov. Choreographer Laurel Victoria Gray first heard the song at a live performance by Yalla in Tashkent. This dance performance is by Silk Road Dance Company at their 2016 "Dance Treasures of Uzbekistan" concert, reminding the audience of the unique cultural traditions of the Uyghur people. This is a protest against the Chinese Communist Party held on 7/31/2016. July marks the anniversary for 2 massacres in East Turkistan, aka Uyghur, committed by the Chinese Communist Party.
The people in Nagasaki prefecture have been protesting about the massacres every year. My friend who's in charge of Kyushu area for the party named Nippon no Kokoro wo Taisetsu ni Suru Tou joined this year from Fukuoka prefecture. He is a former national election candidate and we are sending a political message to the Chinese Communist Party.
Both massacres were triggered by an unfair attack and it grew as a huge massacre.
By the way, I was simultaneously taking pics - sorry for the unsteady camera.

The Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group living in Eastern and Central Asia. Getting kicked out of Gansu province by the Chinese government? All in a day’s work. Climbing a five-storey sword ladder? Now, that may be pushing it for Peter and Jeff Hutchens, the 20-something filmmaker/photographer duo in this new six-part series. Peter and Jeff go back to China, where they lived as children, to document the nation in the midst of social reinvention. Whether it’s a round of pick-up basketball with Tibetan herdsmen, a synthesized dance party outside traditional Kyrgyz yurts or a mobile phone-wielding camel guide in the desert, the boys uniquely capture the old China

Silk Road
Jeff and Peter Hutchens begin their China journey in Chinas westernmost province, Xingjiang. Populated by locals known as Uyghurs, the brothers try to learn the ways of these rough people. They begin their journey in the city of Kashgar. Located near the only passes through the nearly impossible Pamir mountains, Kashgar was the last stop before starting out on the "the Silk Road" to western markets. In Kashgar, they barter for hats in the market, obtain an Uyghur knives, attend a cock-fight, celebrate the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, and even eat goat's head! On the Silk Road, the brothers buy silks, hunt for precious white jade, ride a camel caravan through the desert, and play a version of polo with a goat's head. They'll do all of this to understand the traditional and modern way of life of the Uyghur people.

Prophet Sal Allahu Alayhi Salatu Wassalam said in his Hadith : " The Muslim Ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is in pain then the whole body is in pain"
So we the Muslim Ummah, whatever colour, nationality or gender, wherever we are, are like one body. If we hear that any part of this Ummah is being oppressed, then we should feel this pain.
We are Uyghur Muslim suffered under Chinese regime since 1949 until now. During the past 60 years we yearned your help and we went to so many so -called Islamic countries to seek their help for sake of Allah.
But those Taghut Muslim leaders only work for their interest neither sake of Allah or Muslim Ummah . those Taghut leaders collobrating atheist Chinese instead of helping Uyghur Muslim brothers and sisters in East Turkistan arresting them, torture them in the so-called Islamic countries and hand over to them China for Chinese Pleasure.
The Prophet Sal Allahu Alayhi Salatu Wassalam warned about oppression against others. Especially against Muslims.
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . " Sahih Bukahri: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 622.
Therefore the Uyghur Muslims forced move unislamic countries to save their own life and their Deen. Shame on you so-called Muslim countries and so-called Muslim scholars.
look at this Japanese how are they supporting Uyghur Muslim in East Turkistan. Actually its your duty , your task , your work.
if you keep silent and busy with your own interest may Allah punish you. be fear of Allah. Oh Muslim Ummah please help Uyghur Muslim in East Turkistan. at least write books, articles, open websites, produce films,do speech in Friday prayes ( Khutbah), giving lectures in Universities, organizing session in your countries , demonstrate in front of Chinese Embassy in your countries, mention Uyghur Muslim issue in your debate....ect.

Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . " Sahih Bukahri: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 622.
Therefore the Uyghur Muslims forced move unislamic countries to save their own life and their Deen. Shame on you so-called Muslim countries and so-called Muslim scholars.

Our love of social media seems to have grown and grown in the past decade, but recent studies show the tide may be turning for some platforms, with young people in particular ditching Facebook ... I also felt that if I wasn’t tagging myself at restaurants or uploading photos from nights out, people would assume I wasn’t living ... ‘A lot of young people aren’t interested in Facebook any more’ ... ‘I don’t need to prove anything to people’....

Councils 'too quick to use tax bailiffs', charity says

In 2015-16 almost 6,000 people asked for help with 16,000 problems about council tax, up 7% on 2014-15. The Welsh Government said some people faced very difficult circumstances and bailiffs should be a "last resort" ...
