Mark L. Lester

Mark L. Lester (born November 26, 1946) is an American writer, producer, and director, primarily of action films.

Career

After his debut in 1970 with the film Twilight of the Mayas, he went on to make his mark with Steel Arena and memorable drive-in fare Truck Stop Women and Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. In 1979, he jumped on the disco bandwagon with Roller Boogie starring Linda Blair, to modest success. He then made the exploitation thriller Class of 1984, which was a source of controversy at the time of release, but has since gained cult status.

He entered the mainstream in 1984 with Stephen King's Firestarter and had his biggest hit in 1985 with Commando, an Arnold Schwarzenegger action film that grossed over $57 million worldwide. He also directed and produced his sole comedy, Armed and Dangerous starring John Candy, Eugene Levy and Meg Ryan in 1986. In 1989, he directed Class of 1999, a loose sequel to Class of 1984. Then in 1990, he directed the cult classic Showdown in Little Tokyo starring Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee.

Martin Sheen

Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez (born August 3, 1940), better known by his stage name Martin Sheen, is an American actor who first became known for his roles in the films The Subject Was Roses (1968) and Badlands (1973), and later achieved wide recognition for his leading role in Apocalypse Now (1979).

Other notable films in Sheen's career include Gandhi (1982), Gettysburg (1993), The Departed (2006), and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). He also starred in the television series The West Wing (1999–2006) as President Josiah Bartlet.

In film, he has won the Best Actor award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for his performance as Kit Carruthers in Badlands. His portrayal of Capt. Willard in Apocalypse Now earned a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor. Sheen has worked with a wide variety of film directors, such as Richard Attenborough, Francis Ford Coppola, Terrence Malick, David Cronenberg, Mike Nichols, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Oliver Stone. He has had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame since 1989. In television, he has won both a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild awards for playing the role of President Josiah Bartlet in The West Wing, and an Emmy for guest starring in the sitcom Murphy Brown.

Scream Factory

Scream Factory is a subsidiary of Shout! Factory, dedicated to releasing genre films with cult followings. Scream Factory has released a slate of fan-favorite thrillers from the 1980s, many of which have never been available on Blu-ray before. Some titles are released in a "Collector’s Edition" with new bonus content, archival materials, a collectible cover featuring newly rendered retro-style artwork, a reversible wrap with original theatrical key art and more.

Announced on May 31, 2012, the series was launched on September 18, 2012 with Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray releases of Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch. In February 2015, Scream Factory closed a deal with IFC Midnight for a few home media releases. The deal includes the Blu-ray releases of The Babadook and Extraterrestrial.

Releases

Almost all of Scream Factory's releases will be on Blu-ray. Some will be a Combo Pack of both Blu-ray and DVD and some will be released separately as both. Additionally, some titles will be released as Collector's Editions, indicating a release with all new special features and reversible artwork.
