Gansu (simplified Chinese: 甘肃; traditional Chinese: 甘肅; pinyin: Gānsù) is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the northwest of the country.
It lies between the Tibetan and Huangtu plateaus, and borders Mongolia, Inner Mongolia, and Ningxia to the north, Xinjiang and Qinghai to the west, Sichuan to the south, and Shaanxi to the east. The Yellow River passes through the southern part of the province.
Gansu has a population of 26 million (as of 2009) and covers an area of 425,800 square kilometres (164,400 sq mi). The capital is Lanzhou, located in the southeast part of the province.
Gansu is abbreviated as "甘" (Gān) or "陇" (Lǒng), and is also known as Long West or Long Right, in reference to the Long Mountain east of Gansu.
Gansu is a compound name first used during the Song dynasty of two Sui and Tang dynasty prefectures (州): Gan (around Zhangye) and Su (around Jiuquan).
In prehistoric times, Gansu was host to Neolithic cultures. The Dadiwan culture, from where archaeologically significant artifacts have been excavated, flourished in the eastern end of Gansu from about 6000 BC to about 3000 BC. The Majiayao culture and part of the Qijia culture took root in Gansu from 3100 BC to 2700 BC and 2400 BC to 1900 BC respectively.

A fellow Peace Corps Volunteer and I were asked to make a small appearance in this video. After about 50 takes under the hot Zhangye sun and constant vague direction to be more "expressive," this is what resulted. Enjoy the glory of Zhangye and Gansu's tourism sites, masterfully framed and edited by the Gansu Tourism Board of the People's Republic of China.

Many Chinese don't like this series, they said it only filmed the not so good side of the China and it will misled others. What I want to say is that we can't always see the world we want to see. If we keep that way, we will become self-absorbed and ignore all other opinions. Yes, I admitted this documentary only present part of China, but who can present all parts of China? China is just so big. The same words for those who are not from China, don't just see and believe the part you want to see or you been given. It's truth but not the whole picture of truth. Anyway, I really enjoy this documentary and I hope you too :)
I was really lucky to be able to recover this footage - this is a place that foreigners rarely visit, so I REALLY wanted to show you! The Mati Temple Scenic Area, also named Horse's Hoof Temple, is a distinguished scenic spot integrating grottoes, the scenery of the Qilian Mountain, and Yugur local customs, lying in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in Zhangye City. Legend about the Horse's Hoof Temple goes that a Chinese Pegasus landed here, leaving a huge horseshoe imprint that can still be seen within the Mati Hall in the temple. Thus the temple got the name “Horse's Hoof Temple”. Mati Temple boasts more than 70 caves and shrines. These grottoes are arranged in the form of a pagoda, with Buddhist halls inside and corridors outside. The total number of caves and shrines both inside and ou...

On my first day in Dunhuang, I go to the Singing Sands Mountain and see the Crescent Lake Oasis that the city is so famous for. It was the last stop on the frontier of China before traders would leave the country and venture out on the Silk Road, and its legacy lives on, even today. I hope you like the video - it was a fun experience! Travel video about destination Great Wall in China. The Great Wall of China, a combination of many walls, extends for 1,500 miles and winds across Northern China from Gansu Province to Hebei Province on the Yellow Sea and was constructed as a defence against the northern nomads. Although it was to be of little military significance, the Great Wall is a monument to human endeavour and relentless achievement, a meandering Man made structure that seems to connect all of China's endless horizons. Some of its towers served as the soldiers' living quarters and also played an essential role in communicating messages. The advance of hostile troops was signalled with large fires and cannon shot and any relevant military information was then communicated from tower to tower until it reached a fortre...

Uh, and it goes like this
Uh uh uh uh, it goes like that
Now let me tell you who I am
Up early in the morning, dressed in black
Who dat? *echoes*
[genius/gza]
Yo yo
Marvel this theatrical, drama on stage
Broadway classical, led men to rage
Like currents, the beat change and now a flow is strange
You in the arctic wit wolves that viciously main
Thugs that roam clubs, in the dark wit fireworks that spark
Saltwater vibrations comin from sharks
Blood-thirsty kids bite just as well as I write
You're like secretaries who can't type, you're no use
Broke down vessels who want a boost, there's no jokes
Quick fast you, get stumped 'cause you played, your organ pump
Kool-aid, from indiana wit the jones of a lost crusade
Hip-hop done hit the church, choir girls rockin mini skirts
The b-side kept plenty hurt
Push like the shovels in snow storms
And stack piles of foul, the shit you must grow on! *echoes*
Chorus [method man] 4x
Uh and it goes like this
Uh uh uh uh, it goes like that
[method man]
Pay no attention to the evil they speak
You caught the beef wit the equal eye, poisonous beats from underneath
Crack the concrete wit two left feet
Head on my meat
Ain't no games here we playin for keeps (we play for keeps!)
Introducing, the crowd seducing man on the street
Penitentiaries is either half-dead or too sweet
Back to basic, condition-al god, plus I can take it
Wagin war within the matrix, it's hard to see
Touch, hear, smell or even taste it, take your places
We runnin in these human races, bucking naked
Back-slappin kid yappin, actin villian catchin feelin like we cap peelin
As if we killin every brick in every project building
From cabrini green to tildens, sincerely yours
Mista meth and maximilion (da millions, da millions)
(ka ka ka ka ka ka ka kaaa!) (da millions ha!)
Chorus 5x
[method man]
Uh uh uh uh
Uh uh uh uh
