Banjo-Kazooie is a platform video game developed by Rare and originally released for the Nintendo 64 video game console on 29 June 1998 in North America and 17 July 1998 in Europe. It is the first installment in the Banjo-Kazooie series and follows the story of the titular characters Banjo and Kazooie as they try to stop the plans of series antagonist Gruntilda, who intends to switch her beauty with Banjo's sister Tooty. The game features nine nonlinear levels where the player must complete a number of challenges like solving puzzles, jumping over obstacles, gathering objects, and defeating opponents.
Banjo-Kazooie was originally designed as an adventure game named Project Dream for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, but was later changed for the Nintendo 64. The game was a critical and commercial success, selling nearly two million copies in the United States and receiving an aggregated review score of 92 out of 100 from Metacritic. The game was praised for its detailed graphics, immersive sound, and intricate level design. In 1999, it received two awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences: Console Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Art/Graphics. A sequel, Banjo-Tooie, was released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. In 2008, Banjo-Kazooie was re-released for the Xbox 360 through its Xbox Live Arcade download service. The game is also included in the Rare Replay video game compilation, released for the Xbox One in 2015.
Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are decorated eggs that are often given to celebrate Easter or springtime. As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Eastertide (Easter season). The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate. Eggs, in general, were a traditional symbol of fertility, and rebirth.
The practice of decorating eggshells is ancient, predating Christian traditions. Ostrich eggs with engraved decoration that are 60,000 years old have been found in Africa. Decorated ostrich eggs, and representations of ostrich eggs in gold and silver, were commonly placed in graves of the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians as early as 5,000 years ago.
The Christian custom of the Easter egg, can be traced as far back as the early Christians of Mesopotamia, who stained eggs red in memory of the blood of Christ. The Christian Church officially adopted the custom, regarding the eggs as a symbol of the resurrection. The Roman Ritual, the first edition of which was published in 1610 but which contains texts of much older date, has among the Easter Blessings of Food, along with those for lamb, bread, and new produce, the following blessing for eggs:
The banjo is a four-, five- or (occasionally) six-stringed instrument with a thin membrane stretched over a frame or cavity as a resonator, called the head. The membrane, or head, is typically made of plastic, although animal skin is still occasionally but rarely used, and the frame is typically circular. Early forms of the instrument were fashioned by Africans in America, adapted from African instruments of similar design.
The banjo is frequently associated with country, folk, Irish traditional and bluegrass music. Historically, the banjo occupied a central place in African American traditional music, before becoming popular in the minstrel shows of the 19th century. The banjo, with the fiddle, is a mainstay of American old-time music. It is also very frequently used in Traditional Jazz.
There are several theories concerning the origin of the name banjo. It could have come from the Yoruba word or term "Bami jo" which means "dance for me". It may derive from the Kimbundu term mbanza. Some etymologists believe it comes from a dialectal pronunciation of the Portuguese "bandore" or from an early anglicisation of the Spanish word bandurria, though other research suggests that it may come from a West African term for a bamboo stick formerly used for the instrument's neck.
Rare Replay is a 2015 compilation of 30 video games previously developed by Rare and its predecessor, Ultimate Play the Game, in their 30-year combined history. The emulated games span multiple genres and consoles—from the ZX Spectrum to the Xbox 360—and retain the features and errors of their original releases with minimal edits. The compilation adds cheats to make the older games easier and a Snapshots mode of specific challenges culled from parts of the games. Player progress is rewarded with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews about Rare's major and unreleased games.
The compilation was one of several ideas Rare considered to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Inspired by fans, upcoming Xbox One backwards compatibility features, and the idea to connect Rare's past and future, the company sorted through 120 games to choose titles that best represented its oeuvre. They prioritized games with characters and environments original to the company. Rare incorporated six emulators in the package, and worked with its parent company, Microsoft, to use its unannounced Xbox 360 emulation. Rare Replay was announced at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo and released worldwide as an Xbox One exclusive on August 4, 2015.

I think it's time I told you about the birds and the bears. Today I'm playing a fantastic N64 title that is one of my favourite 3D adventure games. We must play as Banjo and Kazooie and go to a spooky castle to save our sister Tooty from the clutches of the evil witch, Gruntilda. For this video, it's mostly opening and the variety of Spiral Mountain.
I lov this game, have loved it since I was a wee young lad and finally i've been able to do a longplay of it. Unfortunately N64 emulators suck so this is the best I can do for those types of games. Missing textures, a bit of lag and other things including control are issues when using N64 emulators. I ran out of energy just as I got to rusty bucket bay and my gameplay dipped from there on out unfortunately. I thought I did ok though for playing this game based off completely old memories. If I remembered click clock wood a bit better it would have been 100%.

Have you ever felt such glory?
Maybe in a lost memorial?
I'll never wanna come back from again
And we really wanna be someone
Everybody said we were something
I wish I could feel like nothing's wrong
Could we really be much better?
To whom do you compare?
And where will we go when we get there?
Cos' everyone I know
Is reaching for the peak of the volcano
Be careful of where you're walking
Beware of what you're wanting
Do you believe you can be strong?
Cos' we can burn it all down
Spread that fire around
Cover it up with pounds of ash
Now I saw that lava blooming
Red stems and thorns are shooting
What are we doing standing here?
Everyone I know
Is reaching for the peak of the volcano
Everyone I know, everyone i know, everyone i know
