I'm just going to put it out there: this video BLOWS compared to last year's
Blake Griffin dunkilation.
It's not even close. If you want to have a good time, skip this video and watch that one instead: https://youtu.be/F0YBNspfByQ . That one has 176 dunks in it, over twice the amount that this stupid video has. That's twice the dunkage in case you missed it the first time.
What gives? There's not really any reason for
Griffin to dunk less often this season than he had been in previous seasons. It's not like
CP3 flopped into a pit of lava in the first game of the season or anything. Some people were talking about
Griffin's game becoming more "well-rounded", but that doesn't make sense either.
I mean, when I was compiling this video, Griffin didn't look more well-rounded. In fact, he looked just as ripped as ever. If he was fatter this season, I would be able to tell, because I keep very close track of fatties in the
NBA.
Shout out to
Marcus Thornton. The "well-rounded" theory is thoroughly debunked.
So if Griffin's status as the NBA's premiere athletic freakazoid remained uncontested, his teammates were mostly the same, and he didn't make any huge changes to his style of play (like, for example, becoming more of a passing and jump-shooting big), then there's only one explanation:
DeAndre Jordan was stealing his lobs.
You can actually see it happening in this video.
Blake goes up to get the lob from CP3 but DeAndre just leaps in from behind him and steals it. This happens too many times to count. Of course, since this is a dunkilation, you only see the times where DeAndre fails to disrupt the play and Blake is still able to execute the slam successfully. You can watch DeAndre's dunkilation for more proof: https://youtu.be/oqwKLokpgJM . You might need a barf bag though.
No wonder the chemistry was so bad on the
Clippers. You had DeAndre Jordan not only neglecting his own free-throw practice, but you also had him STEALING dunks from his teammates in order to pad his own stats.
Clips fans should be glad that clown bolted for
Dallas. You don't want to give a max contract to a guy who's just going to cause locker room problems by flying in
from anywhere on the court and grabbing lobs that were intended for other players.
I eagerly await next year's "Blake Griffin all 211 Dunks Full
Highlights (2015-2016
Season Dunkilation)" and so should you.
Everything will be just fine in Clipperland with somebody like
JaVale McGee manning the center pos-
Oh no. Oh
no.
Everybody start praying to whatever God you believe in.
Right now. If you possess even the minutest amount of compassion in your heart, those prayers will include the phrases "
Kendrick Perkins" and "
Ekpe Udoh".
