Aherusia - As I Cross The Seas Of My Soul (2013)

Aherusia were formed by Voreas Faethon in Athens in 1997, with Evrynomos in guitars, Foibos Apollyon in keyboards, Pontos Oceanos in pipes and bagpipes, Lyda Faesforos in female vocals and Polypimon Damnameneus in battery. During that first period of Aherusia, Voreas Faethon was the main vocalist and also played the bass.
The aesthetic principles, the band holds until the present day, were forged from the combination of the traditional hellenic sound and the progregorian european folkloric tunes under the music manifest of Majestic Black Metal. The band played some underground shows and released independently the "Whispers of Moon" mini LP in 1999 for a very small number of copies.
During 2000-2003 the band's activity was frozen, the first line up broke and Voreas Faethon entered the cult north aegean black metal band of Panselinos (based in Mytilene, Lesvos and originally created by Orion Arctorios).
Eventually in 2004 the Aherusian dawnhost gathered again:
From the ashes of Panselinos, Aherusia were formed again with the following line up:
Orion Arctorios~vocals, bass.
Voreas Faethon~guitars.
Arcania~guitars.
Ierax~cretian lyra.
Ichoria~Keyboards.
Polypimon Damnameneus~battery.
Two years later, an unsuccessful recording of the first album and too many shows across the entire Aegean Sea, Polypimon Damnameneus and Ichoria left the band, to be succeeded from Aidhor and Charon.
In 2007 the band's seat returned back to Athens, where Alchemist an Esperos took the orphaned positions of Orion Arctorios and Ierax, since they could not follow the band due to serious obligations. In early 2009, Shadow was chosen to be the bass player replacing Alchemist.
The present day, Aherusia are promoting their debut "And The Tides Shall Reveal The Traces",prepare their second album "As I Cross The Seas Of My Soul" and are also booking shows.

Archipelagos is a 1989 first person action and strategy video game developed by Astral Software and playable on Amiga, Atari ST, and MS-DOS-enabled PCs
The game takes place on a series of islands created by a mysterious race known only as the Ancients. The Ancients also created another race, the Visitors, who ended up being their downfall, as the Visitors rebelled against their creators, ultimately killing them. As the blood of the slaughtered Ancients soaked into the land, the worlds they had created became twisted and poisoned. This is the world the player now finds themselves in, with the task of restoring the islands to their former, uncorrupted glory.
The game is played from a first person 3D view. The player is not a specific character, but rather a kind of disembodied consciousness. Each level consists of a landscape made up of one or more lost islands. Each level has a stone obelisk, a number of egg shaped boulders, and various hazards, such as animated trees, souls, or other enemies. The aim is to destroy all of the boulders. Once all of the boulders are destroyed a timer starts. The player then has 90 seconds to reach the obelisk and destroy it.

Archipelagos is an early 3D strategy / puzzle game where you have to prevent the spread of corruption across a series of islands. This is done by eliminating various objects around the islands while avoiding the corruption and reversing it with a limited supply of energy. It's an interesting challenge, but it's let down by the fiddly controls. Despite that it's one of the better early 3D games I've played.
"Overlooked Oldies" is a series of let's play videos of retro games that I somehow never played back in the day. Many of them will be suggestions made by subscribers.

An archipelago (
i/ɑːrkᵻˈpɛləɡoʊ/ ark-i-PEL-ə-goh), sometimes called an island group or island chain, is a chain, cluster or collection of islands. The word archipelago is derived from the Greek ἄρχι- – arkhi- ("chief") and πέλαγος – pélagos ("sea") through the Italian arcipelago. In Italian, possibly following a tradition of antiquity, the Arcipelago (from medieval Greek *ἀρχιπέλαγος and Latin archipelagus) was the proper name for the Aegean Sea and, later, usage shifted to refer to the Aegean Islands (since the sea is remarkable for its large number of islands). It is now used to refer to any island group or, sometimes, to a sea containing a small number of scattered islands.
Types
Archipelagos may be found isolated in bodies of water or neighboring a large land mass. For example, Scotland has more than 700 islands surrounding its mainland which constitute an archipelago. Archipelagos are often volcanic, forming along island arcs generated by subduction zones or hotspots, but may also be the result of erosion, deposition, and land elevation. Depending on their geological origin, islands forming archipelagos can be referred to as oceanic islands, continental fragments, and continental islands. Oceanic islands are mainly of volcanic origin. Continental fragments correspond to land masses that have separated from a continental mass due to tectonic displacement. Finally, sets of islands formed close to the coast of a continent are considered continental archipelagos when they form part of the same continental shelf so islands are just exposed continental shelf.

Aherusia were formed by Voreas Faethon in Athens in 1997, with Evrynomos in guitars, Foibos Apollyon in keyboards, Pontos Oceanos in pipes and bagpipes, Lyda Faesforos in female vocals and Polypimon Damnameneus in battery. During that first period of Aherusia, Voreas Faethon was the main vocalist and also played the bass.
The aesthetic principles, the band holds until the present day, were forged from the combination of the traditional hellenic sound and the progregorian european folkloric tunes under the music manifest of Majestic Black Metal. The band played some underground shows and released independently the "Whispers of Moon" mini LP in 1999 for a very small number of copies.
During 2000-2003 the band's activity was frozen, the first line up broke and Voreas Faethon entered the cult north aegean black metal band of Panselinos (based in Mytilene, Lesvos and originally created by Orion Arctorios).
Eventually in 2004 the Aherusian dawnhost gathered again:
From the ashes of Panselinos, Aherusia were formed again with the following line up:
Orion Arctorios~vocals, bass.
Voreas Faethon~guitars.
Arcania~guitars.
Ierax~cretian lyra.
Ichoria~Keyboards.
Polypimon Damnameneus~battery.
Two years later, an unsuccessful recording of the first album and too many shows across the entire Aegean Sea, Polypimon Damnameneus and Ichoria left the band, to be succeeded from Aidhor and Charon.
In 2007 the band's seat returned back to Athens, where Alchemist an Esperos took the orphaned positions of Orion Arctorios and Ierax, since they could not follow the band due to serious obligations. In early 2009, Shadow was chosen to be the bass player replacing Alchemist.
The present day, Aherusia are promoting their debut "And The Tides Shall Reveal The Traces",prepare their second album "As I Cross The Seas Of My Soul" and are also booking shows.

Archipelagos is a 1989 first person action and strategy video game developed by Astral Software and playable on Amiga, Atari ST, and MS-DOS-enabled PCs
The game takes place on a series of islands created by a mysterious race known only as the Ancients. The Ancients also created another race, the Visitors, who ended up being their downfall, as the Visitors rebelled against their creators, ultimately killing them. As the blood of the slaughtered Ancients soaked into the land, the worlds they had created became twisted and poisoned. This is the world the player now finds themselves in, with the task of restoring the islands to their former, uncorrupted glory.
The game is played from a first person 3D view. The player is not a specific character, but rather a kind of disembodied consciousness. Each level consists of a landscape made up of one or more lost islands. Each level has a stone obelisk, a number of egg shaped boulders, and various hazards, such as animated trees, souls, or other enemies. The aim is to destroy all of the boulders. Once all of the boulders are destroyed a timer starts. The player then has 90 seconds to reach the obelisk and destroy it.

Archipelagos is an early 3D strategy / puzzle game where you have to prevent the spread of corruption across a series of islands. This is done by eliminating various objects around the islands while avoiding the corruption and reversing it with a limited supply of energy. It's an interesting challenge, but it's let down by the fiddly controls. Despite that it's one of the better early 3D games I've played.
"Overlooked Oldies" is a series of let's play videos of retro games that I somehow never played back in the day. Many of them will be suggestions made by subscribers.
