Mr Kejriwal said, "This is not my victory but that of the aam aadmi (common man). The common man is the chief minister, not me."
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at Ramlila grounds, which had been a key venue for the anti-corruption campaign that catapulted Mr Kejriwal to national fame. (read: Mango man Kejriwal) Mr Kejriwal said the date of the swearing in has not been finalised yet.
AAP spokesperson Manish Sisodia said there was no ambiguity on who would be chief minister, as Mr Kejriwal had been projected as the party's candidate for the top post. (Legislators will decide on Chief Minister: Kejriwal)
Mr Sisodia is among the front-runners for a cabinet post in the AAP government. Among others being talked about as possible ministers are Vinod Kumar Binny of Lakshminagar and Rakhi Birla of Mangolpuri.
A confident Mr Kejriwal has said the Aam Aadmi Party will fulfill all its election promises, most of which have been criticised as extravagant and unimplementable by seasoned political rivals like the Congress and the BJP.
AAP made a stunning debut in the Delhi elections, winning 28 of the 70 seats in the new Assembly, second only to the BJP but eight short of a majority. The Congress' eight legislators have extended external support to the government.
The Congress' Sheila Dikshit, who was denied a fourth term as chief minister by Mr Kejriwal in the recent Delhi election, made it clear that her party's support was "not unconditional." She said this morning, "Our support is dependent on their performance. I hope he can fulfill his promises. We were aware that it is impossible to fulfill those promises."
AAP had last week asked people to advice it on whether to form government in Delhi with support from the Congress. "74% of the people have favoured that party should form the government," said AAP leader Manish Sisodia. (People want our government in Delhi: Manish Sisodia)
The BJP called the AAP's decision a betrayal. "The AAP accused the Congress of being the most corrupt. Today they have compromised on their principles. This is gross betrayal," said Dr Harsh Vardhan, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate.

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", op. 27, No. 2, by Ludwig van Beethoven
The sonata has three movements:
1 mvt: Adagio sostenuto.
2 mvt: Allegretto (click to go at 6:00 min).
3 mvt: Presto agitato (click to go at 8:05 min).
Adagio sostenuto
The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. The movement is played pianissimo or "very quietly", and the loudest it gets is mezzo forte or "moderately loud".
The adagio sostenuto has made a powerful impression on many listeners; for instance, Berlioz said of it that it "is one of those poems that human language does not know how to qualify. The work was very popular in Beethoven's day, to the point of exasperating the composer himself, who remarked to Carl Czerny, "Surely I've written better things.
Allegretto
The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos and forte-pianos helps to maintain the movement's cheerful disposition.
Presto agitato
The stormy final movement (C♯ minor), in sonata form, is the weightiest of the three, reflecting an experiment of Beethoven's (also carried out in the companion sonata, Opus 27, No. 1 and later on in Opus 101) placement of the most important movement of the sonata last. The writing has many fast arpeggios and strongly accented notes, and an effective performance demands lively and skillful playing.
It is thought that the C-sharp minor sonata, particularly the third movement, was the inspiration for Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, which manifests the key relationships of the sonata's three movements.
Of the final movement, Charles Rosen has written "it is the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing.
Beethoven's heavy use of sforzando notes, together with just a few strategically located fortissimo passages, creates the sense of a very powerful sound in spite of the predominance of piano markings throughout. Within this turbulent sonata-allegro, there are two main themes, with a variety of variation techniques utilized.

At the opening of the work, Beethoven included a written direction that the sustain pedal should be depressed for the entire duration of the first movement. The Italian reads: "Si deve suonare tutto questo pezzo delicatissimamente e senza sordino". ("One must play this whole piece [meaning "movement"] very delicately and without dampers.") The modern piano has a much longer sustain time than the instruments of Beethoven's day, leaving for a rather blurry and dissonant tone.
One option for dealing with this problem is to perform the work on a restored or replicated piano of the kind Beethoven knew. Proponents of historically informed performance using such pianos have found it feasible to perform the work respecting Beethoven's original direction.

WP7#7161 "AKBAR" was given the charge of this Steam Special from Delhi Cantt to Alwar Junction. After getting overtaken by Bandra Garibrath at Palam Station, AKBAR passes through Shahabad Mohamadpur Station outer at decent speed with 3 Coach Consist along with a Coal Wagon as well for this 143KM Heritage Run Via Rewari.
WP7#7161 is a Chittranjan Locomotive Works built engine, inducted into active service in 1965, this locomotive was homed at Saharanpur shed and gave distinguished service to IR before being phased out from active service. This Locomotive is christened Akbar, after the great Mughal Emperor.

Tenali Raman Stories for Children in Tamil - Raman in Delhi - Stories For Children In Tamil. When Krishna Deva Raya used to rule in Vijaynagar, Babur ruled Delhi. Babur wanted to meet Tenali Raman asa he had heard a great deal about Tenali’s quick wit.
Babur’s messenger arrived in Krishna Deva Raya’s court one day. He said, “Greetings, King Krishna Deva Raya. Emperor Babur wishes Tenali Raman would visit Delhi.”
Krishna Deva Raya replied, “So be it.”
Tenali Raman reached Delhi and settled in the guesthouse.
Meanwhile, Babur spoke with his courtiers in court. He had a plan. “No one will laugh at Tenali Raman’s jokes tomorrow! I want to see how he will make us laugh then.”
The courtiers chorused, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
The next day, Tenali Raman arrived in the court.
Tenali Raman started to narrate one of his jokes. “Once there was a …”
The courtiers cut him off by yawning profusely.
On the sixteenth day, Tenali Raman stopped going to the court.
Tenali Raman thought to himself, “Let me follow Babur to see where he goes everyday.” He wore such clothes that no one wold be able to see his face.
Babur and his minister would walk by the Yamuna every morning.
Babur said, while giving gold coins to beggars, “There you go! Make good use of them.”
Tenali Raman thought of a plan.
The next day, Tenali Raman disguised himself as an old man. He also had a spade and mango sapling.
Tenali Raman thought, “Let me wait for the king here.”
Seeing the king approach,, Tenali began planting the sapling.
Babar said, “You’re old, you won’t be alive when this tree bears fruit. Why are you planting it?”
Tenali Raman said, “Your Majesty, I tasted the fruits of trees my forefathers planted. Similarly, my grandchildren will enjoy the fruit of this tree.”
Babar exclaimed, “That is a noble thought!”
Wanting to reward the old man, Babar took a bag and and said, “Here, take this bag of gold coins.”
Tenali Raman replied, “Thank you, Your Majesty. You have given me the fruit of planting this sapling before it has grown.”
Babar, pleased with this answer too, said, “Well done, again. Take this second bag of gold coins.”
Tenali Raman said, “A tree gives fruit once a year, but I am getting the fruit of my labour twice, Your Majesty!”
Babar again appreciated this clever reply. He said, “Bravo! This third bag of gold coins is also yours.”
Babur’s minister whispered to him, “Your Majesty, at this rate you will give all your wealth to him. Let’s go.”
Babar, laughing, agreed.
Tenali Raman took off his fake beard and called out to them as they were going, “Your Majesty, please look at me.”
Babar was astounded at Tenali Raman’s intelligence. He said, “Tenali Raman, you are truly a great wit! Come back to court for more rewards.”
Tenali Raman went back to Babar’s court and entertained him for many days. Finally, he returned home.
Krishna Deva Raya said, “You have brought glory to the kingdom, Tenali!”
Tenali Raman flashed back, “Your Majesty, then I deserve a reward from you too!”
Krishna Deva Raya said, laughing, “Yes, indeed. Here are 10,000 gold coins.”

Thousands of flag-waving supporters mobbed Indian prime minister-elect Narendra Modi as he made a triumphant entrance in New Delhi Saturday after securing a historic victory for his Hindu nationalist party.
The 63-year-old flew into Delhi's main airport in the late morning from his home state of Gujarat to bask in the glory of a landslide for the Bharatiya Janata Party and begin organising his cabinet.

I returned to the motherland after 2 years 8 months and I could not have started my vacation any better. Boarded the longest running Rajdhani at New Delhi to travel to Goa and experience the famous Konkan Railways.
Konkan Railways holds the distinction in the massive Indian Railways network of being only fully indigenous railway divison in terms of its design and track placement. Indian Ingenuity and Engineering at its best. The route has 92 tunnels and 2800 bridges along the way but I got to experience only a sliver of those because I got off before the fun bit started. I still got to see the 6.5 Km long Karabude tunnel (Or tunnel 35) in all its glory along with the Panvel viaduct.
Unfortunately, this travelogue mostly covers up to Vadodra and barely gets into the gratifying nature of the Konkan Railways. The morning of arrival, I got a phone call saying my Grandfather in Dehradun was severely ill and hospitalized which completely threw me off my plans. I almost cut short my vacation and head directly back to New Delhi the very same day.
But the shots are amazing, and I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I loved filming them. I spotted a few trains while waiting outside Vadodra which I think a lot of you will appreciate.

Morning glory
Morning glory (also written as morning-glory) is the common name for over 1,000 species of flowering plants in the family Convolvulaceae, whose current taxonomy and systematics are in flux. Morning glory species belong to many genera, some of which are:
Habit
Most morning glory flowers unravel into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before the "petals" start showing visible curling. They prefer full solar exposure throughout the day, and mesic soils. Some morning glories, such as Ipomoea muricata, are night-blooming flowers.
In some places, such as Australian bushland, some species of morning glories develop thick roots and tend to grow in dense thickets. They can quickly spread by way of long, creeping stems. By crowding out, blanketing and smothering other plants, morning glory has turned into a serious invasive weed problem.

Narendra Modi
Narendra Damodardas Modi (Gujarati: [nəreːnd̪rə d̪ɑːmoːd̪ərəd̪ɑːs moːd̪iː], born 17 September 1950) is the 15th and current Prime Minister of India, in office since 26 May 2014. (Legislators will decide on Chief Minister: Kejriwal) Mr Sisodia is among the front-runners for a cabinet post in the AAP government. Among others being talked about as possible ministers are Vinod Kumar Binny of Lakshminagar and Rakhi Birla of Mangolpuri. A confident Mr Kejriwal has said the Aam Aadmi Party will fulfill all its election promises, most of which have been criticised as extravagant and unimplementable by seasoned political rivals like the Congress and the BJP. AAP made a stunning debut in the Delhi elections, winning 28 of the 70 seats in the new Assembly, second only to the BJP but eight short of a majority. The Congress' eight legislators have extended external support to the government. The Congress' Sheila Dikshit, who was denied a fourth term as chief minister by Mr Kejriwal in the recent Delhi election, made it clear that her party's support was "not unconditional." She said this morning, "Our support is dependent on their performance. I hope he can fulfill his promises. We were aware that it is impossible to fulfill those promises." AAP had last week asked people to advice it on whether to form government in Delhi with support from the Congress. "74% of the people have favoured that party should form the government," said AAP leader Manish Sisodia. Adagio sostenuto The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. Allegretto The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos and forte-pianos helps to maintain the movement's cheerful disposition. Presto agitato The stormy final movement (C♯ minor), in sonata form, is the weightiest of the three, reflecting an experiment of Beethoven's (also carried out in the companion sonata, Opus 27, No. 1 and later on in Opus 101) placement of the most important movement of the sonata last. The writing has many fast arpeggios and strongly accented notes, and an effective performance demands lively and skillful playing. It is thought that the C-sharp minor sonata, particularly the third movement, was the inspiration for Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, which manifests the key relationships of the sonata's three movements. Of the final movement, Charles Rosen has written "it is the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing. Beethoven's heavy use of sforzando notes, together with just a few strategically located fortissimo passages, creates the sense of a very powerful sound in spite of the predominance of piano markings throughout. Within this turbulent sonata-allegro, there are two main themes, with a variety of variation techniques utilized. The modern piano has a much longer sustain time than the instruments of Beethoven's day, leaving for a rather blurry and dissonant tone. Even after many years of discontinuation, Special Steam runs are being organized by Rewari Heritage Steam Locomotive Museum is the only surviving steam loco shed in India and houses some of India's last surviving steam locomotives during spring season every year between Delhi Cantt and Alwar. WP7#7161 "AKBAR" was given the charge of this Steam Special from Delhi Cantt to Alwar Junction. After getting overtaken by Bandra Garibrath at Palam Station, AKBAR passes through Shahabad Mohamadpur Station outer at decent speed with 3 Coach Consist along with a Coal Wagon as well for this 143KM Heritage Run Via Rewari. WP7#7161 is a Chittranjan Locomotive Works built engine, inducted into active service in 1965, this locomotive was homed at Saharanpur shed and gave distinguished service to IR before being phased out from active service. This Locomotive is christened Akbar, after the great Mughal Emperor. Babur wanted to meet Tenali Raman asa he had heard a great deal about Tenali’s quick wit. Babur’s messenger arrived in Krishna Deva Raya’s court one day. He said, “Greetings, King Krishna Deva Raya. Emperor Babur wishes Tenali Raman would visit Delhi.” Krishna Deva Raya replied, “So be it.” Tenali Raman reached Delhi and settled in the guesthouse. Meanwhile, Babur spoke with his courtiers in court. He had a plan. “No one will laugh at Tenali Raman’s jokes tomorrow! I want to see how he will make us laugh then.” The courtiers chorused, “Yes, Your Majesty.” The next day, Tenali Raman arrived in the court. Tenali Raman started to narrate one of his jokes. “Once there was a …” The courtiers cut him off by yawning profusely. On the sixteenth day, Tenali Raman stopped going to the court. Tenali Raman thought to himself, “Let me follow Babur to see where he goes everyday.” He wore such clothes that no one wold be able to see his face. Babur and his minister would walk by the Yamuna every morning. Babur said, while giving gold coins to beggars, “There you go! Make good use of them.” Tenali Raman thought of a plan. The next day, Tenali Raman disguised himself as an old man. He also had a spade and mango sapling. Tenali Raman thought, “Let me wait for the king here.” Seeing the king approach,, Tenali began planting the sapling. Babar said, “You’re old, you won’t be alive when this tree bears fruit. Why are you planting it?” Tenali Raman said, “Your Majesty, I tasted the fruits of trees my forefathers planted. Similarly, my grandchildren will enjoy the fruit of this tree.” Babar exclaimed, “That is a noble thought!” Wanting to reward the old man, Babar took a bag and and said, “Here, take this bag of gold coins.” Tenali Raman replied, “Thank you, Your Majesty. You have given me the fruit of planting this sapling before it has grown.” Babar, pleased with this answer too, said, “Well done, again. I returned to the motherland after 2 years 8 months and I could not have started my vacation any better. Boarded the longest running Rajdhani at New Delhi to travel to Goa and experience the famous Konkan Railways. Konkan Railways holds the distinction in the massive Indian Railways network of being only fully indigenous railway divison in terms of its design and track placement. Indian Ingenuity and Engineering at its best. The route has 92 tunnels and 2800 bridges along the way but I got to experience only a sliver of those because I got off before the fun bit started. I still got to see the 6.5 Km long Karabude tunnel (Or tunnel 35) in all its glory along with the Panvel viaduct. Unfortunately, this travelogue mostly covers up to Vadodra and barely gets into the gratifying nature of the Konkan Railways. The morning of arrival, I got a phone call saying my Grandfather in Dehradun was severely ill and hospitalized which completely threw me off my plans. I almost cut short my vacation and head directly back to New Delhi the very same day. But the shots are amazing, and I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I loved filming them. I spotted a few trains while waiting outside Vadodra which I think a lot of you will appreciate. En Route to Goa - Trivandrum Rajdhani
I returned to the motherland after 2 years 8 months and I could not have started my vacation any better. Boarded the longest running Rajdhani at New Delhi to travel to Goa and experience the famous Konkan Railways. Konkan Railways holds the distinction in the massive Indian Railways network of being only fully indigenous railway divison in terms of its design and track placement. Indian Ingenuity and Engineering at its best. The route has 92 tunnels and 2800 bridges along the way but I got to experience only a sliver of those because I got off before the fun bit started. AAP spokesperson Manish Sisodia said there was no ambiguity on who would be chief minister, as Mr Kejriwal had been projected as the party's candidate for the top post. (Legislators will decide on Chief Minister: Kejriwal)
Mr Sisodia is among the front-runners for a cabinet post in the AAP government. Among others being talked about as possible ministers are Vinod Kumar Binny of Lakshminagar and Rakhi Birla of Mangolpuri.
A confident Mr Kejriwal has said the Aam Aadmi Party will fulfill all its election promises, most of which have been criticised as extravagant and unimplementable by seasoned political rivals like the Congress and the BJP.
AAP made a stunning debut in the Delhi elections, winning 28 of the 70 seats in the new Assembly, second only to the BJP but eight short of a majority. The Congress' eight legislators have extended external support to the government.
The Congress' Sheila Dikshit, who was denied a fourth term as chief minister by Mr Kejriwal in the recent Delhi election, made it clear that her party's support was "not unconditional." She said this morning, "Our support is dependent on their performance. I hope he can fulfill his promises. We were aware that it is impossible to fulfill those promises."
AAP had last week asked people to advice it on whether to form government in Delhi with support from the Congress. "74% of the people have favoured that party should form the government," said AAP leader Manish Sisodia. (People want our government in Delhi: Manish Sisodia)
The BJP called the AAP's decision a betrayal. "The AAP accused the Congress of being the most corrupt. Today they have compromised on their principles. This is gross betrayal," said Dr Harsh Vardhan, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate.

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", op. 27, No. 2, by Ludwig van Beethoven
The sonata has three movements:
1 mvt: Adagio sostenuto.
2 mvt: Allegretto (click to go at 6:00 min).
3 mvt: Presto agitato (click to go at 8:05 min).
Adagio sostenuto
The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. The movement is played pianissimo or "very quietly", and the loudest it gets is mezzo forte or "moderately loud".
The adagio sostenuto has made a powerful impression on many listeners; for instance, Berlioz said of it that it "is one of those poems that human language does not know how to qualify. The work was very popular in Beethoven's day, to the point of exasperating the composer himself, who remarked to Carl Czerny, "Surely I've written better things.
Allegretto
The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos and forte-pianos helps to maintain the movement's cheerful disposition.
Presto agitato
The stormy final movement (C♯ minor), in sonata form, is the weightiest of the three, reflecting an experiment of Beethoven's (also carried out in the companion sonata, Opus 27, No. 1 and later on in Opus 101) placement of the most important movement of the sonata last. The writing has many fast arpeggios and strongly accented notes, and an effective performance demands lively and skillful playing.
It is thought that the C-sharp minor sonata, particularly the third movement, was the inspiration for Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, which manifests the key relationships of the sonata's three movements.
Of the final movement, Charles Rosen has written "it is the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing.
Beethoven's heavy use of sforzando notes, together with just a few strategically located fortissimo passages, creates the sense of a very powerful sound in spite of the predominance of piano markings throughout. Within this turbulent sonata-allegro, there are two main themes, with a variety of variation techniques utilized.

Tenali Raman Stories for Children in Tamil - Raman in Delhi - Stories For Children In Tamil. When Krishna Deva Raya used to rule in Vijaynagar, Babur ruled Delhi. Babur wanted to meet Tenali Raman asa he had heard a great deal about Tenali’s quick wit.
Babur’s messenger arrived in Krishna Deva Raya’s court one day. He said, “Greetings, King Krishna Deva Raya. Emperor Babur wishes Tenali Raman would visit Delhi.”
Krishna Deva Raya replied, “So be it.”
Tenali Raman reached Delhi and settled in the guesthouse.
Meanwhile, Babur spoke with his courtiers in court. He had a plan. “No one will laugh at Tenali Raman’s jokes tomorrow! I want to see how he will make us laugh then.”
The courtiers chorused, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
The next day, Tenali Raman arrived in the court.
Tenali Raman started to narrate one of his jokes. “Once there was a …”
The courtiers cut him off by yawning profusely.
On the sixteenth day, Tenali Raman stopped going to the court.
Tenali Raman thought to himself, “Let me follow Babur to see where he goes everyday.” He wore such clothes that no one wold be able to see his face.
Babur and his minister would walk by the Yamuna every morning.
Babur said, while giving gold coins to beggars, “There you go! Make good use of them.”
Tenali Raman thought of a plan.
The next day, Tenali Raman disguised himself as an old man. He also had a spade and mango sapling.
Tenali Raman thought, “Let me wait for the king here.”
Seeing the king approach,, Tenali began planting the sapling.
Babar said, “You’re old, you won’t be alive when this tree bears fruit. Why are you planting it?”
Tenali Raman said, “Your Majesty, I tasted the fruits of trees my forefathers planted. Similarly, my grandchildren will enjoy the fruit of this tree.”
Babar exclaimed, “That is a noble thought!”
Wanting to reward the old man, Babar took a bag and and said, “Here, take this bag of gold coins.”
Tenali Raman replied, “Thank you, Your Majesty. You have given me the fruit of planting this sapling before it has grown.”
Babar, pleased with this answer too, said, “Well done, again. Take this second bag of gold coins.”
Tenali Raman said, “A tree gives fruit once a year, but I am getting the fruit of my labour twice, Your Majesty!”
Babar again appreciated this clever reply. He said, “Bravo! This third bag of gold coins is also yours.”
Babur’s minister whispered to him, “Your Majesty, at this rate you will give all your wealth to him. Let’s go.”
Babar, laughing, agreed.
Tenali Raman took off his fake beard and called out to them as they were going, “Your Majesty, please look at me.”
Babar was astounded at Tenali Raman’s intelligence. He said, “Tenali Raman, you are truly a great wit! Come back to court for more rewards.”
Tenali Raman went back to Babar’s court and entertained him for many days. Finally, he returned home.
Krishna Deva Raya said, “You have brought glory to the kingdom, Tenali!”
Tenali Raman flashed back, “Your Majesty, then I deserve a reward from you too!”
Krishna Deva Raya said, laughing, “Yes, indeed. Here are 10,000 gold coins.”
Tenali Raman replied, “Thank you, Your Majesty!

I returned to the motherland after 2 years 8 months and I could not have started my vacation any better. Boarded the longest running Rajdhani at New Delhi to travel to Goa and experience the famous Konkan Railways.
Konkan Railways holds the distinction in the massive Indian Railways network of being only fully indigenous railway divison in terms of its design and track placement. Indian Ingenuity and Engineering at its best. The route has 92 tunnels and 2800 bridges along the way but I got to experience only a sliver of those because I got off before the fun bit started. I still got to see the 6.5 Km long Karabude tunnel (Or tunnel 35) in all its glory along with the Panvel viaduct.
Unfortunately, this travelogue mostly covers up to Vadodra and barely gets into the gratifying nature of the Konkan Railways. The morning of arrival, I got a phone call saying my Grandfather in Dehradun was severely ill and hospitalized which completely threw me off my plans. I almost cut short my vacation and head directly back to New Delhi the very same day.
But the shots are amazing, and I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I loved filming them. I spotted a few trains while waiting outside Vadodra which I think a lot of you will appreciate.

No other city in this huge and diverse country demonstrates the dramatic history of India with all the intensity of colour as Delhi.

That's specifically why I created this list of 21 things to do in Delhi, to help you plan and get excited about visiting Delhi, India.
1. The Lotus Temple (Bahá'í House of Worship) - The temple is in the shape of a giant lotus and on the inside is a peaceful sanctuary where you can enter and sit in silence for as long as you like.
2. ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple - I had never seen a temple like this before, so it as an interesting experience to hear the music and walk around the interior of the temple.
3. Kalkaji Mandir Hindu Temple - This temple is a very important Hindu temple in Delhi and while I was there, there were a number of babies being dedicated by being decorated and blessed.
4. Jama Masjid - Located in Old Delhi, Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in all of Delhi. Though they will attempt to get money from you, it's free to enter the mosque, but if you want to take photos inside they will charge you 300 rupees.
5. Akshardham Temple - This modern Hindu temple located on the outskirts of Delhi literally made my jaw drop, it's that amazing. It's free to enter, but unfortunately, they don't allow any photography inside. This is one of the things to do in Delhi that you cannot afford to miss!
6. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple) - Unlike some other sites in Delhi where you'll find many touts and hustlers, the Gurdwara Sikh Temple is about the nicest and most friendly place you can go in Delhi. People are extremely nice and you can enter the temple to listen to music.
7. Laxmi Narayan Mandir -- Dedicated by Mahatma Gandhi, this is one of the most significant Hindu temples in Delhi.
8. Hauz Khas Complex - I'm always amazed at the history of Delhi and Hauz Khas is an excellent example of ancient monuments in the middle of a public park.
9. Lodi Gardens - As a free entrance public park, visiting the Lodi Gardens is one of the most amazing things to do in Delhi. It's just like an ordinary park, but it's filled with thousand year old tombs and monuments that are truly inspirational.
10. India Gate - The war memorial is one of the landmarks of Delhi and resembles the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
11. Jantar Mantar - The Jantar Mantar complex is a compound that houses 13 different astronomy instruments. The structures are confusing to look at, but if you read or follow a guide (or audio guide) you'll understand how each instrument functioned.
12. Qutub Minar - Just like Akshardham Temple, Qutub Minar is one of the top things to do in Delhi, it's truly remarkable. The minaret is the main attraction, a huge pillar of red carved sandstone that towers above the ancient ruins in the complex.
13. Humayun's Tomb - One of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Delhi is Humayun's Tomb, built in Mughal Islamic architecture.
14. Tomb of Safdarjung - Very similar to Humayun's tomb is the tomb of Safdarjung. What I really liked is that there were no other tourists the day I went so it was quite and peaceful.
15. Red Fort - Located near Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi is the Red Fort. It's an entire walled in city where you can walk around the browse the many buildings within the walls.
16. Raj Ghat - The Raj Ghat is a memorial park dedicated to Gandhi.
17. Chandni Chowk & Chawri Bazar - The liveliest and busiest area of Delhi is Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar. I think it's possible to purchase anything from the entire world in this area, and you'll also find lots of delicious food.
18. Dilli Haat - This handicraft village was set up by the Delhi tourism authority and it's a decent place to purchase souvenirs or high quality crafts. You'll also find a food court that contains canteens serving food from all over India.
19. Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk) - Known for short as just CP is a huge series of roundabouts and is the central modern business district of Delhi. Within the area you'll find all sorts of shops, famous restaurants and the Palika Bazar, an underground shopping center.
20. Paharganj (Main Bazar) - The main bazar is located just west of the New Delhi railroad station and it's an old area of town where you'll find a market and lots of budget accommodation options.
21. Delhi Street Food - Eating street food is one of the best things to do in Delhi, you'll love it.

Red Fort
The Red Fort (Lal Qila) is one of Delhi's top tourist sights. A brilliant red sandstone fort built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (who also built Agra's Taj Mahal) as his ruling palace. Completed in 1648, the years since have not treated the buildings kindly: the rooms have long since been stripped of all objects, the marble inlays are long gone and quite a few buildings are off limits. Still, the scale remains imposing and the gardens are kept lush and green even in midwinter. Major buildings within include:
Chatta Chowk, (Covered Bazaar). True to the name, this is a covered bazaar between the gate and the fort itself, now filled with souvenir hawkers.
Diwan-i-Am, (Hall of Public Audience). This building separates the outer court from the inner court, and has a marble platform for the emperor's throne.
Hayat Baksh Bagh, (Life-Bestowing Gardens). Once a grand garden of full of fountains and streams, now sadly all dry — only dry channels and acres of green grass remain.
Diwan-i-Khas, (Hall of Private Audience). Built completely of marble, this is where the emperor received special visitors.
Khas Mahal, (Private Palace), The Emperor's main residence. The octagonal Mussaman Burj tower looks out toward the Yamuna River, and is where the Emperor used to appear before the public for each morning.
Rang Mahal, (Colour Palace). The residence of the Sultan's main wife.
Mumtaz Mahal, (Jewel Palace). Contained six apartments for the Sultan's harem. Now used as a museum of court textiles, carpets, weapons, etc (free).
Daawat Khana, A minor palace at the northmost end of the Fort, this was originally the residence of a prince, but it was converted into a tea house by the British, a function it continues today. Basic meals go for around 60 rupees, drinks 10-20 rupees, and it also has the cleanest toilets around.
Swatantra Sangrama Sangrahalaya, (Museum of the Independence Movement). To the left after the Chatta Chowk, this is a reasonably well-presented museum on the history of independence activism in India, starting from the Mutiny of 1857 all the way to Gandhi.
The only open entrance is Lahore Gate, on the west side. Security in and around the Fort is very heavy, as it was the scene of a terrorist attack in 2000 that killed three people. Bags are allowed, but they'll be X-rayed and you'll be patted down. Tickets cost Rs 10/250 rupees for Indians/foreigners, photography free, video cameras Rs 25 extra. Open sunrise to sunset daily except Monday. Allow for 3-4 hr in your schedule in case of long weekends and national holidays as lot of tourists flock around then. The most scenic way of reaching the fort is to take the Metro to Chawri Bazaar and then a cycle-rickshaw through the incredibly packed bazaar to the Fort (price negotiable, aim for Rs 20).
The fort has a light and sound show (Rs 50) in the evenings from 7:30PM-9PM, depending on the season.
Be careful buying tickets at the booth, as the ticket sellers will attempt to shortchange you. Try to have a small bill. Due to enhanced security the parking can be a bit tricky as the walk from the now distanced away parking at nearby alternative slots is quite a bit. The congested traffic makes crossing the road even trickier.
Humayun's tomb
==============
Humayun's Tomb in south Delhi, near Hazrat Nizamuddin station, is one of Delhi's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Open daily from sunrise to sunset, entry is Rs 10/250, Indians/foreigners.
Qutub Minar, The most famous structure on grounds, this 72.5 m minaret was the tallest "skyscraper" in the world when built (1193-1368) - it was constructed on the orders of Qutb-ud-din Aybak. Delicately carved, it has been astonishingly well-preserved and is still an awe-inspiring sight today. It's often visible from air when flying into IGI airport! (Sticklers for archaeological truth will, however, note that the top of the tower has twice been rebuilt after an earthquake, and the base has been restored more recently.) While entry into the tower itself is no longer permitted, for Rs 10 per 5 min you can view the scenery via a little webcam on top.
Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Delhi's first and grandest mosque, now mostly in ruins, but many parts of the complex are still standing and the sandstone decorations are still impressive. Check out the extraordinarily ornate carvings near the tomb of Iltutmish on the west side of the complex.

Swatantra Sangrama Sangrahalaya, (Museum of the Independence Movement). To the left after the Chatta Chowk, this is a reasonably well-presented museum on the history of independence activism in India, starting from the Mutiny of 1857 all the way to Gandhi.
The only open entrance is Lahore Gate, on the west side. Security in and around the Fort is very heavy, as it was the scene of a terrorist attack in 2000 that killed three people. Bags are allowed, but they'll be X-rayed and you'll be patted down. Tickets cost Rs 10/250 rupees for Indians/foreigners, photography free, video cameras Rs 25 extra. Open sunrise to sunset daily except Monday. Allow for 3-4 hr in your schedule in case of long weekends and national holidays as lot of tourists flock around then. The most scenic way of reaching the fort is to take the Metro to Chawri Bazaar and then a cycle-rickshaw through the incredibly packed bazaar to the Fort (price negotiable, aim for Rs 20).
The fort has a light and sound show (Rs 50) in the evenings from 7:30PM-9PM, depending on the season.
Be careful buying tickets at the booth, as the ticket sellers will attempt to shortchange you. Try to have a small bill. Due to enhanced security the parking can be a bit tricky as the walk from the now distanced away parking at nearby alternative slots is quite a bit. The congested traffic makes crossing the road even trickier.
Humayun's tomb

Humayun's Tomb in south Delhi, near Hazrat Nizamuddin station, is one of Delhi's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Open daily from sunrise to sunset, entry is Rs 10/250, Indians/foreigners.
Qutub Minar, The most famous structure on grounds, this 72.5 m minaret was the tallest "skyscraper" in the world when built (1193-1368) - it was constructed on the orders of Qutb-ud-din Aybak. Delicately carved, it has been astonishingly well-preserved and is still an awe-inspiring sight today. It's often visible from air when flying into IGI airport! (Sticklers for archaeological truth will, however, note that the top of the tower has twice been rebuilt after an earthquake, and the base has been restored more recently.) While entry into the tower itself is no longer permitted, for Rs 10 per 5 min you can view the scenery via a little webcam on top.
Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Delhi's first and grandest mosque, now mostly in ruins, but many parts of the complex are still standing and the sandstone decorations are still impressive. Check out the extraordinarily ornate carvings near the tomb of Iltutmish on the west side of the complex.

Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party.
Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it turns out that the cows aren’t the only things Hindus hold sacred.
Karni Mata Rat Temple. Over 20,000 rats call this Hindu temple home, and Indians come here to pay their respects, as these rats are believed to be the reincarnations of ancestors. Shoes aren’t allowed inside, so plan ahead and bring two pairs of socks, and if you’re brave enough, it’s considered an honor to share a bowl of milk with the rats.
Most travelers who come to Jaisalmer opt for the camel safari across the Thar Desert, leading you to a good spot to view the sun setting over the Pakistani border, which happens to be heavily armed, so always keep your cool.
The food is awesome. It completely blew me away. I honestly don’t know much about Indian food, and half the time I didn’t know what I was ordering, but with the intense spices and pungent flavors, every meal seemed to be better than the next, from high end restaurants to local cafes. TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet usually hit the mark with their recommendations, and asking for whatever the chef recommends almost always rewarded me with a memorable meal.
Get on a bus and head north, and you’ll eventually reach Rishikesh- a city where you won’t find meat on any menu, and is overrun by hippie backpackers, weird yoga people, and unruly monkeys. It’s the gateway to the Himalayas.
Oh my God whatever you do.. don’t feed the monkeys. Rabies is a very serious risk in India, and medical treatment to prevent it is very long, and very painful.
After experiencing my share of incredible extremes here in India, my journey brings me to Varanasi, Hindu’s most holy city on the banks its most holy river, The Ganges. Varanasi is a city that was built on and still thrives on traditions. Traditions that may seem strange and shocking, at first, but spend enough time here and you’ll come to appreciate the power of this place.
For many people, Varanasi is their final resting place. Hindus believe that dying here will release you from the cycle of rebirth. For families that can afford it, elaborate cremation ceremonies are carried out in publi c view along the river, their ashes being released into the water. For the vast majority, however, bodies are weighted with stones and sunk to the bottom. These traditions are in harmony with daily bathing rituals- a ritual that is said to remove sins and purify souls.

File Video Courtesy: CNN Money Air pollution has reached hazardous levels in the Indian capital, Delhi, after many firecrackers were set off to celebrate the festival of Diwali at the weekend. People celebrated the festival on Sunday night with colourful fireworks across the city, but woke up the next morning to find the city covered in a thick grey blanket of smog. The situation hasn't changed much since then. The Indian Meteorological Department said Wednesday recorded the worst smog and visibility in 17 years. As per the data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, the levels of tiny particulate matter (known as PM 2.5) that enter deep into the lungs reached as high as 800 micrograms per cubic metre in the past four days, 30 times the permissible concentration .

Woman held for smuggling gold hidden in denim shorts at Delhi airport
New Delhi: A woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold valuing about Rs 61 lakh by hiding it inside denim shorts worn by her at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi. The accused was intercepted by the customs officials after her arrival from Dubai on Friday. "During her detailed examination and personal search, it was found that she was carrying 12 gold bars of 24 carat, weighing 1,400 grams valued at approximately Rs 42.75 lakh in the front pockets of her denim shorts underneath her dress. "She also carried two more pouches in the back pockets which contained 110 items of assorted gold jewellery weighing 780.82 grams of latest designs having market value of Rs 18.62 lakh," a press release issued on Sunday by the customs said. People celebrated the festival on Sunday night with colourful fireworks across the city, but woke up the next morning to find the city covered in a thick grey blanket of smog.
The situation hasn't changed much since then. The Indian Meteorological Department said Wednesday recorded the worst smog and visibility in 17 years.
As per the data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, the levels of tiny particulate matter (known as PM 2.5) that enter deep into the lungs reached as high as 800 micrograms per cubic metre in the past four days, 30 times the permissible concentration .

New Delhi: A woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold valuing about Rs 61 lakh by hiding it inside denim shorts worn by her at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi.
The accused was intercepted by the customs officials after her arrival from Dubai on Friday.
"During her detailed examination and personal search, it was found that she was carrying 12 gold bars of 24 carat, weighing 1,400 grams valued at approximately Rs 42.75 lakh in the front pockets of her denim shorts underneath her dress.
"She also carried two more pouches in the back pockets which contained 110 items of assorted gold jewellery weighing 780.82 grams of latest designs having market value of Rs 18.62 lakh," a press release issued on Sunday by the customs said.
The total value of the gold, which has been seized, is assessed to be Rs 61.37 lakh.
The woman has been arrested by the customs officials.
