This video captures many long stories made short.... the true highlights of it all.
One Thing Remains.... This is the song that I first heard during one of the saddest times of our lives...and I clung to it... writing the lyrics down and sticking them on the fridge. We listened to it at Brooks's funeral.... I listened to it often through our adoption journey, sang it as my flights were delayed, sang it as we landed in the US.... and I can now put it to this video which celebrates one of the happiest times in our lives.It fit perfectly. It is a wonderful and important reminder to me. With all my heart, I believe God is with us, through the good and the bad... and he remains good all of the time.
When I watch this, I don't see something that we did. We never could have done this. All we did was follow His lead. Never have we felt a pull so strong to just trust. We weren't eligible to adopt, and the expenses for two were more than we made each year. But 19 months later, a debt-free adoption was completed, and our family is together. Against all odds....
We are so thankful to everyone who helped us make this happen. May this serve as a testimony. May this help you follow His lead....

One of the most frequent questions we are asked about is how the adoption process works. Every situation is unique, just like every child is unique. What some experience may be totally different than what others experience.
In today's Millennial Moms video, I share with you the basic 101 for adoption, what the general steps are (although regulations do vary state to state, and country to country), and some basic preparations to help you get on your way.

We've shared a lot about our adoption over the last couple of years, but this short film is probably the best summary of our heart for adoption and our journey to bring Eden home. Adoption isn't for everyone, but hopefully watching this video will inspire those of you who might be considering it to take the next step.

(WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go awry. Adoption
Adoption is a process whereby a person assumes the parenting of another, usually a child, from that person's biological or legal parent or parents, and, in so doing, permanently transfers all rights and responsibilities, along with filiation, from the biological parent or parents. Unlike guardianship or other systems designed for the care of the young, adoption is intended to effect a permanent change in status and as such requires societal recognition, either through legal or religious sanction. While the modern form of adoption emerged in the United States, forms of the practice appeared throughout history. This video captures many long stories made short.... the true highlights of it all. One Thing Remains.... This is the song that I first heard during one of the saddest times of our lives...and I clung to it... writing the lyrics down and sticking them on the fridge. We listened to it at Brooks's funeral.... I listened to it often through our adoption journey, sang it as my flights were delayed, sang it as we landed in the US.... and I can now put it to this video which celebrates one of the happiest times in our lives.It fit perfectly. We've shared a lot about our adoption over the last couple of years, but this short film is probably the best summary of our heart for adoption and our journey to bring Eden home. Adoption isn't for everyone, but hopefully watching this video will inspire those of you who might be considering it to take the next step. When I watch this, I don't see something that we did. We never could have done this. All we did was follow His lead. Never have we felt a pull so strong to just trust. We weren't eligible to adopt, and the expenses for two were more than we made each year. But 19 months later, a debt-free adoption was completed, and our family is together. Against all odds....
We are so thankful to everyone who helped us make this happen. May this serve as a testimony. May this help you follow His lead....

The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. The Making of a Family It was about this time three years ago that my wife Mandy and I started the adoption process to adopt our first child, Lydia. Although my wife dislikes being in front of a camera, I did what I always do – I filmed our journey into the making of a family and created a documentary film. (We own a creative agency that specializes in video, so it is literally what I always do). Disclaimer: We want to caution viewers who are about to travel and might have romantic notions of family day and time spent in China for the adoption. For most families, time in China is very hard. There is very little video footage of our time in China because for many days, all we could do was take a deep breath and comfort Lydia. This short film was honored and became a winner at the 2013 International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles, California. Palms is the story of a foster child in search of a forever family who is holding his heart in the palm of their hands. PLEASE SEE ENTIRE MOVIE to get meaning of 'Palms'. It is (however) not the typical story of some adoptions. Some foster children suffer horribly but the Lord showed his kindness to us and our son. Palms has been shown to various organizations, churches, and families and has brought awareness to a few experiences of foster children. There are many more severe cases ... -

This short film was honored and became a winner at the 2013 International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles, California. Palms is the story of a foster child in search of a forever family who is holding his heart in the palm of their hands. PLEASE SEE ENTIRE MOVIE to get meaning of 'Palms'. It is (however) not the typical story of some adoptions. Some foster children suffer horribly but the Lord showed his kindness to us and our son. Palms has been shown to various organizations, churches, and families and has brought awareness to a few experiences of foster children. There are many more severe cases that don't always have a happy ending, but for us this one did. Palms was written, produced, and directed by award winning filmmaker Deep Williams. What was a mere possibility on April 1st, 2013 became an amazing reality by late August 2013 when our daughter was born! We adopted her, brought her home, and now every day is full of love and laughter!
Our decision to adopt came after 5 years of infertility treatments, each treatment more bizarre than the one before. In hindsight, knowing how great it feels to be parents, and how perfect our little girl is, I wish we started the process years before. I have no regrets because it all led to where we are today, but adoption, and our daughter; have filled our lives in ways we never realized they were lacking.
This is the story from the day we found out about her, to the day she came home. Enjoy!
