London City may refer to:
London City Airport (IATA: LCY, ICAO: EGLC) is an international airport in London. It is located in the Royal Docks in the London Borough of Newham, some 6 NM (11 km; 6.9 mi) east of the City of London and a rather smaller distance east of Canary Wharf. These are the twin centres of London's financial industry, which is a major user of the airport. The airport was developed by the engineering company Mowlem in 1986–87 and in 2015 was owned by a consortium comprising Global Infrastructure Partners (75%) and Oaktree Capital Management (25%). The facility has been put up for sale.
London City Airport has a single 1,500-metre (4,900 ft) long runway, and a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P728) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flight training (but only for training necessary for the operation of aircraft at the airport). Only multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft with special aircraft and aircrew certification to fly 5.5° approaches are allowed to conduct operations at London City Airport. The largest aircraft which can be used at the airport is the Airbus A318.
City Airport is a term used for an airport that is close to or serves a city centre, this list does not include airports that have "City" as part of location name like Kansas City International Airport:
London i/ˈlʌndən/ is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom. Standing on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its 1.12-square-mile (2.9 km2) medieval boundaries and in 2011 had a resident population of 7,375, making it the smallest city in England. Since at least the 19th century, the term London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms Greater London, a region of England governed by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The conurbation also covers two English counties: the small district of the City of London and the county of Greater London. The latter constitutes the vast majority of London, though historically it was split between Middlesex (a now abolished county), Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire.
British Airways, often shortened to BA, is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom and the largest airline in the United Kingdom based on fleet size. When measured by passengers carried, it is second-largest in United Kingdom (behind easyJet). The airline is based in Waterside near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport.
A British Airways Board was established by the United Kingdom government in 1972 to manage the two nationalized airline corporations, British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European Airways, and two smaller, regional airlines, Cambrian Airways, from Cardiff, and Northeast Airlines, from Newcastle upon Tyne. On 31 March 1974, all four companies were merged to form British Airways. After almost 13 years as a state company, British Airways was privatised in February 1987 as part of a wider privatisation plan by the Conservative government. The carrier soon expanded with the acquisition of British Caledonian in 1987, followed by Dan-Air in 1992 and British Midland International in 2012.
On Tuesday the 11th April, I thought why not head down to the little airport in London, the one and only London City Airport of course. Since my last visit, there has been a new visitor in particular, well not 100% new, but still a change to the usual colours here. That colour in particular being blue, KLM blue! The forecast before heading down said that it would be a cloudy evening, so I went down with the expectation of seeing no sunset skies, however, much to what the forecast predicted, the skies towards the end of this video were quite nice indeed. Plenty of Spring sunshine about throughout the day here It was nice to get back here, one thing I do really like about London City is that it is one of few airports in the UK where the entire aerodrome is visible from one spot, with the ...
Well, slowly and steadily they're getting shorter ;) This one just breaching the hour mark, covering 5 hours of spotting at London's business airport, LCY. Well saying that a lot of the flights caught here were leisure bound flights to/from resorts etc. Filmed on 15/07/16 between 14:00-19:30 Video includes mostly regulars including BA Cityflyer E190's, E170's, a Saab 2000 and of course the BA Babybus, aka Airbus A318 on its way to JFK. As well the other LCY regulars include CityJet's Avro RJ85's and a ATR 42 replacing the now extinct VLM flight from Antwerp, Flybe Dash 8's and an ATR 42, previously in the Blue Islands scheme. On top of that we see two Swiss RJ100's, both special liveries, 2 Lufthansa Regional E190's, 2 Alitalia E190's including one in the Skyteam livery, a few bizjets in...
Afternoon flight into London City Airport for runway 09. Approach is really amazing as we had to fly at a really low altitude due to traffics coming into London Heathrow airport right above us. It is a very busy approach as turns are very tight and there is so much to be aware of. Runway 09 is pretty short plus a glideslope of 5.5º at only 3.5 miles from the runway.

This video is property of Train_PlaneHub, "RachaelMatt" 1080p HD! A humid gusty afternoon at London City Airport. Not been to LCY for some time now so thought a trip back was long overdue. Not the best day weather wise, a bit grey, dull and overcast but fairly warm when the sun came out. Quite a busy hour an half almost a continuous stream of arrivals and departures more or less the entire time. INCLUDES: CityJet BAE-146's & Fokker 50's, British Airways ERJ190's & ERJ170's, Swiss BAE-146's, FlyBe & Luxair Dash8 Q400's and an Embraer Legacy Private Jet. We also went to Heathrow later this day, so check out the video of the 09L arrivals later this evening. Thanks for watching! COMMENT, THUMBS UP, FAVOURITE, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE!!
