2) We think you’re asking us “what good is putting up anti-fascist stickers going to do?” You could also ask “what good is putting up anti-fascist graffiti?” or “what good is wearing anti-fascist shirts or patches or pins?”
Here’s what good it does:
FOR FASCISTS & RACISTS: It lets them know that they are not safe to be operating or organizing in an area and that any attempts to spread hate or harass their usual targets will be responded to.
FOR RACIALIZED PEOPLE, LGBT PEOPLE, RELIGIOUS OR ETHNIC MINORITIES, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE NOT ALREADY ACTIVELY ANTIFA: It lets them know that they have allies in the area and that they can expect to be supported if they are confronted with discriminatory abuse.
FOR OTHER ANTIFA: It lets them know that other people in the area feel just as they do and are willing to do something to combat hate.

MONTREAL REPORTBACK: The Jewish Defence League, a rabid zionist group linked to terrorist attacks in the U.S., attempted to disrupt the World Social Forum today but got more than they bargained for. The JDL van drove into Montreal and stopped outside an army surplus store on St-Laurent, south of Ontario, and far from the WSF Palestine workshop they were trying to disrupt. There were no more than 12 JDL people. The JDL was surrounded and were kept on the sidewalk, eventually, by 150+ anti-racist, Palestine solidarity demonstrators. The police held a line between the dozen JDL people, and the over one-hundred anti-fascists. For two hours, the JDL were kept on the sidewalk, and their speeches were drowned out by chants of “Viva Viva Palestina” and many others. Several Jewish protesters, who had initiated a callout to oppose the JDL, heckled and refuted the JDL racists. One Jewish anti-JDL protester pointed out that 3x as many Jewish protesters were present to oppose JDL racism and to express solidarity with Palestinian resistance. Many of the JDL’s comments back to protesters were racist, homophobic and sexist. Meanwhile, at the World Social Forum, the scheduled workshop by Canadian Friends of Sabeel took place without any problems. The few JDL people remain in the city, and they will be confronted wherever they go. (4:30pm, August 10, 2016)
