Join in from your city.

For yet another year, we institutionalize this date in more than 50 cities around the world as we organize a day of struggle and resistance with marches, rallies, demonstrations at the homes of those we condemn, strikes, paintings, art exhibitions, theater, live music, workshops, and all forms of human expression made to generate awareness against the impacts generated historically by mining, against the current problems and the negative consequences already visible for the not-so-distant future.

The time to fight is now.

Mining in all its forms of exploitation generated slavery of First Nations during colonial times, and today suppresses us through neoliberalism to the indiscriminate exploitation of Mother Earth, humanity, and all biodiversity. It contaminates and makes irrational use of water which is an inalienable human right. Mega-mining expropriates land. It destroys archeological sites, cultural heritage sites, and nature reserves. Since 2012 [?] they have exploited the oceans and now there is mining exploitation in space.

Our world is endangered for the benefit of a few.

Each one of us can contribute individually to change History; let’s not leave for tomorrow what we must do today.

Let’s leave a possible future for our children.

If we don’t want to repeat History, let’s have courage to change it once and for all.

Un año más, institucionalizando esta fecha, en más de 50 ciudades del mundo se realizará una jornada de lucha y resistencia con marchas, concentraciones, escraches, cortes, pintadas, exposiciones artísticas, teatro, música en vivo, talleres y toda forma de expresión humana que genere más conciencia frente a los impactos que históricamente genera la minería, las problemáticas actuales y las consecuencias negativas ya visibles, para un futuro no tan lejano.

El tiempo de luchar es ahora.

La minería en todas sus formas de explotación ha generado la esclavitud de pueblos originarios en los primeros tiempos coloniales y hoy nos somete bajo el neocolonialismo a la explotación indiscriminada de la madre tierra, la humanidad y toda la biodiversidad. Contamina y hace uso irracional del agua que es un derecho humano inalienable. La megaminería expropia territorios. Destruye sitios arqueológicos, patrimonios culturales y reservas ambientales. Desde el 2012 explotan en los océanos y en la actualidad existe la explotación minera espacial.

Nuestro mundo está en peligro para beneficio de unos pocos.

Desde nuestro aporte individual podemos cambiar la Historia, no dejemos para mañana lo que debemos hacer hoy.

Dejemos a nuestros hij@s un futuro posible.

Si no queremos repetir la Historia tengamos el coraje de cambiarla de una vez por todas.
