Thailand's culture "incorporates a great deal of influence from India, China, Cambodia, and the rest of Southeast Asia." It is influenced primarily by animism, Indian culture and Buddhism.
Thailand is nearly 94%-95% Theravada Buddhist (which includes the Thai Forest Tradition and the Dhammayuttika Nikaya and Santi Asoke sects), with minorities of Muslims (5-6%), Christians (1%), Mahayana Buddhists, and other religions.Thai Theravada Buddhism is supported and overseen by the government, with monks receiving a number of government benefits, such as free use of the public transportation infrastructure.
Buddhism in Thailand is strongly influenced by traditional beliefs regarding ancestral and natural spirits, which have been incorporated into Buddhist cosmology. Most Thai people install spirit houses, miniature wooden houses outside their dwellings, where they believe household spirits live. They present offerings of food and drink to these spirits to keep them happy. If these spirits aren't happy, it is believed that they will inhabit the household and cause chaos. These spirit houses can be found in public places and on the streets of Thailand, where the public make offerings.
When used as an adjective, Thai refers to anything that originates from Thailand. As a noun it may refer to:
The Thai people, formerly known as Siamese, are the main ethnic group of Thailand and are part of the larger Tai ethnolinguistic peoples found in Thailand and adjacent countries in Southeast Asia as well as southern China and northeastern India. Their language is the Thai language, which exists in different regional variants, and is classified as part of the Tai–Kadai family of languages, and the majority of Thai are followers of Theravada Buddhism.
"Thai people" usually includes central and southern Thai (Siamese proper, or Tai Siam), northern Thai (Lanna) and Isan people.
The term Thai people has a loose meaning and sometimes also refers to the population of Thailand in general, and not only to ethnic Thais.
There have been many theories proposing the origin of the Tai peoples, of which the Thai are a subgroup. Especially the association of the Tai people with the Kingdom of Nanzhao that has been proved to be invalid. Linguistic studies suggested that the origin of the Tai people lies around the Chinese Province of Guangxi, where the Zhuang people are still a majority. The ancient Tai people should be the part of Chinese Nanyue, referred to by Han leaders as "foreign servant" (Chinese: 外臣), synecdoche for a vassal state. The Qin dynasty founded Guangdong in 214 BC, initiating the successive waves of Chinese migrations from the north for hundred years to come.

Are you coming to Thailand or getting to know Thai people? If, yes we made a fun video on some of the things you should know about Thailand and its culture :) Of course, this does not apply to every single Thai person but we think its pretty accurate! 1) You should always take your shoes off when you enter someone's home. This is because Thai people want to keep their houses clean! 2) The national anthem is played in public twice a day. The first time at 8AM and second is 6PM. Thai people will stop whatever they are doing to stand still to pay respect to the anthem. 3) Head (part of the body) is considered high in Thailand. People do not touch or play with each others' heads, especially if the other person is older. However, it is okay for older people to pat younger peoples' head to ...

HOW ARE THAI WOMEN TREATED IN RELATIONSHIPS IN THAILAND? That's the question. I think, in general, they are treated well. I mean, more men than not, treat their partner with love and some form of respect. Many don't, it can be a rather sexist country, but I have to think that overall, probably most do treat their ladies pretty good. That said, I've seen some horrifying things between men and women in the country. Thai women sometimes get abused, beat, manhandled - just like in any country I guess. In the end of the video I caution against stepping in to any fight between a Thai man and woman because you can be killed or injured in doing so. Thais don't get involved in fights between 'lovers,' and probably in most cases you shouldn't either. Now, if a guy is killing a woman, yeah, get i...

What a surprise
What a surprise
I knew I'd find you here
Sitting against the ugly tree
It's not why this innocent girl, don't be scared
Yes I'm in love with you, all the things you put me through
Yes I'm in love with you, all the things you put me through
No I'm not in love with you, the things you put me through
I don't know what to do, the things that you put me through
5, 4, 3, 2, 1 lets go...
I can't seem to be looking for anything
Fast let me tell you that
Stand strong, and don't preform till the sun comes up
Just dance
Touch me, I'll touch you back
Just dance and feel the music
Please don't go away, smoke a little more in enough
Hey you're back but now you're leaving soon
Tonight I'll be seen, just run away dreaming
I'm not as jealous as they come
Turn your back to the dance floor
I'm not as a champion
Turn your back to the dance floor
Just tell me
Just tell me
Just tell me
Just tell me
Just tell me
Do you care to dance?
