The Rockwell B-1 Lancer is a four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, jet-powered strategic bomber used by the United States Air Force (USAF). It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic bomber with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetrator with long-range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. Designed by Rockwell International, the bomber's development was delayed multiple times over its history, as the theory of strategic balance changed from flexible response to massive retaliation and back again. Each change in stance changed the perceived need for manned bombers. The initial B-1A version was developed in the early 1970s, but its production was cancel...

This video depicts the United States Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, jet-powered heavy strategic aircraft used by the USAF. It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic aircraft with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetration aircraft with long range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. It is commonly called the "Bone" (originally from "B-One"). Designed by Rockwell International (now part of Boeing), development was delayed multiple times over its history. The initial B-1A version was developed in the early 1970s, but its production was canceled, and only four prototypes were built. The need for a new platform once again s...
U.S. Air Force's nuclear-capable bomber trio B-1B Lancer, B-2 Spirit, and B-52 Stratofortress launch from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, for an integrated bomber operation. This mission marks the first time in history that all three of Air Force Global Strike Command's strategic bomber aircraft are simultaneously conducting integrated operations in the U.S. Pacific Command area of operations (AOR). Though all the aircraft have deployed independently to the U.S. Pacific Command’s AOR in the past, this was the first time all three bombers flew a formation pass over Andersen Air Force Base, dispersed and then simultaneously conducted operations in the South China Sea and Northeast Asia. The clay surface of Rogers Dry Lake at Edwards AFB has minimized damage and loss for many aircrews in trouble with malfunctioning aircraft. This fascinating Air Force footage shows a B-1B Lancer from Dyess AFB, Texas, that diverted to Edwards to land on the huge lakebed with its nose gear unextended, on 4 October 1989. Rockwell B-1B Lancer (85-0089) returning to RAF Fairford on the 9th September 2016 under the call sign CROOK02. This aircraft is from the 28th BS, part of the 7th OG Global Strike Command and was taking part in the International Sanicole airshow, Belgium (www.sanicole.com). There was a fairly strong crosswind on this day, which caused the jets (and my camera) to be buffeted around a fair amount. You can see the commander skilfully working the jet through the wind for a gentle landing on runway 27. Lovely to see these impressive jets in the UK skies again, and hopefully they'll become a more familiar sight in the coming years.

Rockwell B-1B Lancer (85-0089) from Dyess AFB, Texas, roars out of RAF Fairford on September 9th 2016 under the call sign CROOK02. The series formed the programming backbone for the Discovery Wings channel in the United States and United Kingdom, which launched in 1999. Discovery Wings was rebranded into the Military Channel in 2005 and Discovery Turbo in 2007, respectively. Some episodes are available on VHS via Ebay and Amazon. "Great Planes" episodes are available on DVD in Australia through Magna Pacific. "Great Planes" was also revived in a modernized format, hosted by Paul "Max" Moga, that aired on the Military Channel in the United States. I just wanna be your ball and chain
Wrapped around your finger
Locked up, tied me down
Follow you forever
Never let you get away,
Holding on like a ball and chain
I never wanted to stay
In one place too long
Oh no, not me, I didn't wanna be
A victim of that fatal touch
When you want someone too much but
You, you'll be the end of me
And I don't want to hurt anymore
I tried my best to avoid
Making promises
Oh, no, not me, I didn't wanna
be a prisoner of that tender trap
When there's no turning back but
You, you got me on my knees
And I won't be afraid anymore
I just wanna be your ball and chain
Wrapped around your finger
Locked up, tied me down
Follow you forever
Never let you get away,
Holding on like a ball and chain
I know it's been some time confined to be alone
but I know I found the one who's gotts be this love jones
you know that I get open when you rubbing my back the goose bumps
and chills must be proof of that cos I'm feeling when your dealing

you've gotta meet me at the crib for the quarter to nine
and at the time love devine and what do I find

The side of you be wanting me just haunting my fight boy be my ball and chain yo it's gotta be right
I just wanna be your ball and chain
Wrapped around your finger
Locked up, tied me down
Follow you forever
Never let you get away,
