Em agosto de 1968, a banda britânica de rock The Yardbirds estava completamente desmantelada. O guitarrista Jimmy Page, — que estava no grupo desde junho de 1966 quando o baixista Paul Samwell Smith saiu da banda, único membro remanescente dos Yardbirds, ficou com os direitos do nome do grupo além de obrigações contratuais para uma série de concertos na Escandinávia. Para sua nova banda, Page recrutou o baixista John Paul Jones, o vocalista Robert Plant e o baterista John Bonham. Plant e Bonham vinham da Band of Joy, e Jones já havia trabalhado com Page em "Beck's Bolero", de Jeff Beck. Em setembro de 1968, o recém-formado grupo percorreu a Escandinávia como The New Yardbirds, realizando alguns materiais antigos dos Yardbirds, bem como canções novas como "Communication Breakdown", "I Can't Quit You Baby", "You Shook Me", "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" e "How Many More Times". Zeppelin
A Zeppelin was a type of rigid airship named after the German Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin who pioneered rigid airship development at the beginning of the 20th century. Zeppelin's ideas were first formulated in 1874 and developed in detail in 1893. They were patented in Germany in 1895 and in the United States in 1899. After the outstanding success of the Zeppelin design, the word zeppelin came to be commonly used to refer to all rigid airships. Zeppelins were first flown commercially in 1910 by Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-AG (DELAG), the world's first airline in revenue service. By mid-1914, DELAG had carried over 10,000 fare-paying passengers on over 1,500 flights. During World War I the German military made extensive use of Zeppelins as bombers and scouts, killing over 500 people in bombing raids in Britain.

Kid Rock
Robert James Ritchie (born January 17, 1971), known by his stage name Kid Rock, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and actor. His 1998 studio album Devil Without a Cause sold 13 million copies worldwide. He is a five-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold 25 million albums in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. The RIAA certified him selling 23.5 million albums. He was Soundscan's number-one selling male solo musician of the 2000s, selling 17.6 million albums; he was 17th overall for the decade, and he has sold over 35 Million Records Worldwide.
Rock performed rap and hip hop with five releases between 1990 and 1997, including a reissue and an EP. After signing a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1998, he gained commercial success in the rap rock genre behind the singles "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy" and "Only God Knows Why" (the latter foreshadowing his move into country rock). After the success of Devil Without a Cause in 2000, he released The History of Rock, a compilation of remixed and remastered versions of songs from previous albums as well as the hit rock single, "American Bad Ass".

Para sua nova banda, Page recrutou o baixista John Paul Jones, o vocalista Robert Plant e o baterista John Bonham. Plant e Bonham vinham da Band of Joy, e Jones já havia trabalhado com Page em "Beck's Bolero", de Jeff Beck.
