The massive St. Stephen's Cathedral is the Gothic needle around which Vienna spins. While heavily damaged in WWII, the church survived. Today it symbolizes the city's freedom and proud spirit. Vienna Austria, Stephansdom Interior HD Video Tour - St. Stephen's Cathedral Wien, March 2012. The Stephansdom, or St. Stephen's Cathedral, in Vienna is the city symbol and landmark. The cathedral was first built in 1147 AD. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today is situated at the heart of Vienna in the Stephansplatz. It is the most important religious building in Austria's capital, and its multi-colored tile roof is one of the city's most recognizable symbols. Standing at 136 metres tall (445 ft) and affectionately referred to by the city's inhabitants as "Steffl" St. Stephen's Cathedral's massive south tower is its highest point and a dominant feature of the Vienna skyline. Its construction lasted 65 years, from 1368 until 1433.

People like to think of "nature" and "civilization" as opposites. In keeping with this, "nature" is outside: outside the city, or even more extreme, outside of Europe - in the African savanna, for instance, or along the Amazon. But, as a matter of fact, the phenomenon "wilderness" exists under our very eyes, even at places that are not recognizable as biotopes at first glance. The most astonishing natural area in Austria is St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna.
The cathedral is 106,8 meters long, 34 meters wide, and 137 meters tall at its highest point.- Der Stephansdom in Wien. - Das Bauwerk ist 106,8 Meter lang und 34 Meter breit.- A Szent István-székesegyház - A templom méretei: hossza 106,8 méter, a főhajó belmagassága 28 méter. Visit to Metz, France on September 19, 2016 with my family. "Saint-Étienne de Metz" is a beautiful Gothic cathedral made with local yellow limestone and taking approximately 300 years to construct 1220-1520. It has large amounts of ancient stained glass and a very high nave.
St. Stephen's Cathedral (more commonly known by its German title "Stephansdom") is the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna and the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna.

Every church has its own uniqueness and solemnity. St Stephen's Cathedral has a strong choir and and a unique all girls mass servers. The timing of the final hymn ended as the procession of mass servers, Choir and Celebrants arrived at the front of the church was very meaningful. I love my experience in St. Stephen, Brisbane.

Saint Stephen with a rose
In and out of the garden he goes
Country garland in the wind and the rain
Wherever he goes the people all complain
Stephen prosper in his time
Well he may and he may decline
Did it matter? does it now?
Stephen would answer if he only knew how
Wishing well with a golden bell
Bucket hanging clear to hell
Hell halfway twixt now and then
Stephen fill it up and lower down
And lower down again
Lady finger dipped in moonlight
Writing `what for?' across the morning sky
Sunlight splatters dawn with answers
Darkness shrugs and bids the day goodbye
Speeding arrow, sharp and narrow,
What a lot of fleeting matters you have spurned
Several seasons with their treasons
Wrap the babe in scarlet covers call it your own
Did he doubt or did he try?
Answers aplenty in the bye and bye
Talk about your plenty, talk about your ills
One man gathers what another man spills
Saint Stephen will remain
All he's lost he shall regain
Seashore washed by the suds and the foam
Been here so long he's got to calling it home
Fortune comes a crawlin, Calliope woman
Spinning that curious sense of your own
Can you answer? Yes I can,
but what would be the answer to the answer man?
High green chilly winds and windy vines in loops around
twining shafts of lavender, they're crawling to the sun
Underfoot the ground is patched with climbing arms of
wrapped around the manzanita, stark and shiny in the
breeze
Wonder who will water all the children of the garden
when they
sigh about the barren lack of rain and droop so hungry
'neath the
