Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds Finance portfolio presented the State budget for 2015-16. This is the 10th budget by Mr. Siddaramaiah and third after becoming the Chief Minister.
Speaking at the session, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah talks about communal harmony and upliftment of backward classes. He mentioned that the SC/ST and other backward classes are the priorities of the government.
Here are some pointers from the Chief Minister’s Budget speech:
* CM listed out some policies started out by the State Government:
* State GDP growth estimated at 7%
* Poems by Basavanna and Kuvempu find their way in the CM’s Budget speech
* Five agricultural produce markets to be set up in State at Bidar, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara
* Government school children will finally be able to wear socks and shoes. Rs. 120 crores allotted for that.
* 200 government schools & 100 PU colleges to be declared Green power schools. Solar electric equipment to be installed
* Committee to be set up to rope CSR funds to improve infrastructure in government schools
* 1,000 more schools under Tele-Education Programme with IIM-B
* Infrastructure improvements in govt B.Ed colleges
* Transgender policy to be implemented. Rs. 20,000 will be given to 1,000 transgenders
* Chair to be set up at University of Mysore to take up research on writer U.R. Ananthamurthy
* Honorarium of anganwadi workers to be enhanced by Rs. 500 and assistants by Rs. 250 per month
* To protect termination of girlchild during pregnancy all ultrasound scanning centres to be monitored realtime using onlinetech

'Jai Bharatha Jananiya Thanujathe' is a famous and a very beautiful song patriotic song of the land written by a great Kannadiga, Rashtra Kavi Dr. K. V. Puttapa (Kuvempu). The song is also the State anthem of Karnataka.
The beauty and the central theme of the song is that it envisages a Karnataka that is very proud of its position in the comity of Indian states. Mother Karnataka is called a Proud daughter of Mother India who believes in peaceful co-existence with her sisters, but at the same time maintains her self-respect and dignity.
Through the poem, the poet appreciates the greatness of the state of Karnataka by highlighting its glorious culture, divinity and heritage, architectural splendor, geographical treasures, the great kings, poets, intellects of the land and peaceful co-existence of people in diversity.
The translation of the song into English (as in Wikipedia) reads -

Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate (Kannada: ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನಿಯ ತನುಜಾತೆ) is a Kannada poem, which was composed by the Indian Kannadiga poet Kuvempu. The poem was officially declared the state anthem of the Indian state of Karnataka on January 6, 2004.

Karnataka /kɑrˈnɑːtəkə/ is a state in South West India. It was created on 1 November 1956, with the passing of the States Reorganisation Act and this day is annually celebrated as Karnataka Rajyotsava (Formation Day). Originally known as the State of Mysore /maɪˈsɔər/, it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. It is the land of the Kannadigas, Tuluvas, Konkanis and Kodavas. The capital and largest city is Bangalore.
Karnataka is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west, Goa to the northwest, Maharashtra to the north, Andhra Pradesh to the east, Tamil Nadu to the southeast, and Kerala to the southwest. The state covers an area of 191,976 square kilometres (74,122 sq mi), or 5.83% of the total geographical area of India. It is the eighth largest Indian state by area. With over 61 million inhabitants (2011), Karnataka is the ninth largest state by population, comprising 30 districts. Kannada is the most widely spoken and official language of the state.
The two main river systems of the state are Krishna and its tributaries (Bhima, Ghataprabha, Vedavati, Malaprabha, and Tungabhadra) in the north, and the Cauvery and its tributaries (Hemavati, Shimsha, Arkavathi, Lakshmana Thirtha and Kabini) in the south. Both these rivers flow eastward and fall into the Bay of Bengal.

This is the 10th budget by Mr. Siddaramaiah and third after becoming the Chief Minister. Speaking at the session, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah talks about communal harmony and upliftment of backward classes. He mentioned that the SC/ST and other backward classes are the priorities of the government. Here are some pointers from the Chief Minister’s Budget speech: * CM listed out some policies started out by the State Government: * State GDP growth estimated at 7% * Poems by Basavanna and Kuvempu find their way in the CM’s Budget speech * Five agricultural produce markets to be set up in State at Bidar, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara * Government school children will finally be able to wear socks and shoes. Rs. 120 crores allotted for that. * 200 government schools & 100 PU colleges to be declared Green power schools. Solar electric equipment to be installed * Committee to be set up to rope CSR funds to improve infrastructure in government schools * 1,000 more schools under Tele-Education Programme with IIM-B * Infrastructure improvements in govt B.Ed colleges * Transgender policy to be implemented. Rs. 20,000 will be given to 1,000 transgenders * Chair to be set up at University of Mysore to take up research on writer U.R. Ananthamurthy * Honorarium of anganwadi workers to be enhanced by Rs. 500 and assistants by Rs. 250 per month * To protect termination of girlchild during pregnancy all ultrasound scanning centres to be monitored realtime using onlinetech -

The beauty and the central theme of the song is that it envisages a Karnataka that is very proud of its position in the comity of Indian states. Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate (Kannada: ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನಿಯ ತನುಜಾತೆ) is a Kannada poem, which was composed by the Indian Kannadiga poet Kuvempu. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds Finance portfolio presented the State budget for 2015-16. This is the 10th budget by Mr. Siddaramaiah and third after becoming the Chief Minister.
Speaking at the session, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah talks about communal harmony and upliftment of backward classes. He mentioned that the SC/ST and other backward classes are the priorities of the government.
Here are some pointers from the Chief Minister’s Budget speech:
* CM listed out some policies started out by the State Government:
* State GDP growth estimated at 7%
* Poems by Basavanna and Kuvempu find their way in the CM’s Budget speech
* Five agricultural produce markets to be set up in State at Bidar, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara
* Government school children will finally be able to wear socks and shoes. Rs. 120 crores allotted for that.
* 200 government schools & 100 PU colleges to be declared Green power schools. Solar electric equipment to be installed
* Committee to be set up to rope CSR funds to improve infrastructure in government schools
* 1,000 more schools under Tele-Education Programme with IIM-B
* Infrastructure improvements in govt B.Ed colleges
* Transgender policy to be implemented. Rs. 20,000 will be given to 1,000 transgenders
* Chair to be set up at University of Mysore to take up research on writer U.R. Ananthamurthy
* Honorarium of anganwadi workers to be enhanced by Rs. 500 and assistants by Rs. 250 per month
* To protect termination of girlchild during pregnancy all ultrasound scanning centres to be monitored realtime using onlinetech

'Jai Bharatha Jananiya Thanujathe' is a famous and a very beautiful song patriotic song of the land written by a great Kannadiga, Rashtra Kavi Dr. K. V. Puttapa (Kuvempu). The song is also the State anthem of Karnataka.
The beauty and the central theme of the song is that it envisages a Karnataka that is very proud of its position in the comity of Indian states. Mother Karnataka is called a Proud daughter of Mother India who believes in peaceful co-existence with her sisters, but at the same time maintains her self-respect and dignity.
Through the poem, the poet appreciates the greatness of the state of Karnataka by highlighting its glorious culture, divinity and heritage, architectural splendor, geographical treasures, the great kings, poets, intellects of the land and peaceful co-existence of people in diversity.

The places covered in this video are Dubare - Elephant Camp- Coorg ,Kaveri Nisargadhama, Raja's seat Madikeri, Mandalpatti hills,Golden temple Bylakuppe etc
Dubare - Elephant Camp- Coorg :- This is an elephant capturing and training camp of the Forest Department, at the edge of Dubare forest, on the bank of river Kaveri, on the Kushalnagar - Siddapur road.The main attraction here is the river rafting or White Water Rafting. We can experience the real White Water Rafting on a 7 km stretch .
Kaveri Nisargadhama: is a 64-acreisland with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees island formed and surrounded by river Kaveri. It is approximately 3 km from Kushalanagara town in coorg. The island is accessible through a hanging rope bridge.Its a must place to visit in coorg trip.
Raja's seat offers a panoramic view of the whole of Coorg hills. Apparently, erstwhile kings of Mysore would come to this place to rest and view the Coorg hills. Every evening, musical fountain is played to the tunes of popular kannada and hindi numbers.
Bhagmandala is a confluence of three rivers and is considered a sacred place. It is at a distance of 38km from Madikeri.
The Mandalpatti hills in coorg are one of the best trekking spots in Coorg. Mandalpatti hills are located around 30 km from Madikeri town in Coorg.Its an absolutely scenic place in Coorg.
Buddhist Namdroling Monastery and Golden Temple at Bylakuppe near Coorg. Bylakuppe is a Tibetian Refugee settlement in Kodagu
Talakaveri / Talacauvery : River Kaveri which is one of the 7 sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus of the Hindu scriptures, originated at a place is called Talakaveri (head of Cauvery) in the Brahmagiri hills, at about 4,500 ft above sea level. This place is marked by a tirtha kundike or Brahma kundike (small spring/pond) from where the river emerges as a small perennial spring, but flows underground again to emerge a short distance away. It is about 48 km from Madikeri, Coorg.
Major Resorts and Hotels in Coorg are :Orange County Coorg ,Misty Mercara , Club Mahindra Kodagu Valley Resort etc . There are also very good homestays in coorg situated away from the main town (Madikeri) and are best suited to people who prefer nature over traditional sightseeing .
