The Aoös or Vjosë (Greek: Αώος; Albanian: Vjosë, Vjosa) is a river in northwestern Greece and southwestern Albania. Its total length is about 272 kilometres (169 mi), of which the first 80 kilometres (50 mi) are in Greece, and the remaining 192 kilometres (119 mi) are in Albania. It is fed by several tributaries, such as the Voidomatis, Sarantaporos, Drino and Shushicë.
The Aoös' source is in Greece, specifically in the Pindus mountains in Epirus, near the village of Vovousa. An artificial lake has been constructed at an altitude of 1350 meters, and there is a hydroelectric dam in place since 1987. It flows through the Vikos–Aoös National Park, where it forms towering canyons and then flows through the town of Konitsa, where it is joined by the Voidomatis. It enters Albania near Çarshovë, where it is joined by the Sarantaporos. and then continues northwest through Përmet, Këlcyrë, Tepelenë (where it is joined by the Drino), Memaliaj, Selenicë and Novoselë. It then flows into the Adriatic Sea, northwest of Vlorë.

In about 200 B.C. Rome gave Philip V of Macedon an ultimatum that he must submit Macedonia to being essentially a Roman province. Philip refused and Rome declared war against Philip in the Second Macedonian War. If you thought you were going to like this video, you probably actually will like the Battle of Heraclea at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHAduERXAeo The Battle of the Aous was fought in 198 BC between the Roman Republic and the ancient Kingdom of Macedonia, at or near modern Tepelenë in Albania. The Roman legions were led by Titus Quinctius Flamininus and the Macedonian forces were led by King Philip V of Macedon. Flamininus won the battle, and the two commanders would meet again at Cynoscephalae the next year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Aous

Zagori is a little-known gem of a place in north west Greece. While many visitors to Greece fixate on the islands, it’s this wild, wooded region in the Pindos mountains that many Greeks treasure. It's spectacularly beautiful, with scenery in the Vikos-Aoös National Park like a lost world and many traditional stone villages. Off with your head
Dance 'til you're dead
Heads will roll, heads will roll
Heads will roll on the floor
Glitter on the wet streets
Silver over everything
The river's all wet
You're all cold
Dripping with alchemy
Shiver stop shivering
The glitter's all wet
You're all chrome
The men cry out, the girls cry out
The men cry out, the girls cry out
The men cry out, oh no
The men cry out, the girls cry out
The men cry out, the girls cry out
The men cry out, oh no
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Off, off with your head
Dance, dance 'til you're dead
Heads will roll, heads will roll
Heads will roll on the floor
Looking glass, take the past
Shut your eyes, you realize
Looking glass, take the past
Shut your eyes, you realize
Glitter on the wet streets
Silver over everything
The glitter's all wet
You're all chrome, you're all chrome
Oh, oh, oh
Off, off, off with your head
Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead
Off, off, off with your head
Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead
Off, off, off with your head
Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead
Off, off, off with your head
Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead
