Scotty lived on the streets for 5 months, and no one was able to get close to him... he was terrified. People fed him, but he kept hiding under a house and that's where he lived.
Luckily, a few weeks ago, Chynna Arias saw a few of our Hope For Paws rescue videos, and called us for help. Lisa Chiarelli and I met at the location, and for two hours we struggled to save Scotty after he managed to wedge himself into a small compartment where we couldn't reach him.
By placing my camera inside the compartment, we were able to look at him through the screen and it provided us with useful information on how to go about this rescue.
During our struggle down there, Lisa lifts her head quickly, and she got hurt by a rusty nail and started bleeding.
As we were sitting there, we tried many different tricks until I spotted a metal pipe that enabled Lisa to create a larger opening and then I was able to grab his tail - something I have never done before on a rescue!
We managed to get him out, Scotty bit my leg a couple of times, and then he relaxed... he realized that we were there to help.
We crawled out, I took him to the hospital, and quickly left in order to take Lisa to urgent care for a Tetanus shot.
A few days later, Scotty continued to Lisa's house to be fostered and socialized with Frankie and Lola.
Scotty is now in a different foster home because Lisa will be getting today a more challenging project.

Poodle
The poodle is a group of formal dog breeds, the Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle and Toy Poodle. The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) recognizes four sizes of one breed: standard, medium, miniature, and toy. Poodles exist in many coat colors. Originally bred in Germany as a type of water dog, the breed was standardized in France. The poodle is skillful in many dog sports, including agility, obedience, tracking, and even herding. Poodles have taken top honors in many conformation shows, including "Best in Show" at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 1991 and 2002, and at the World Dog Show in 2007 and 2010.
Toy Poodles won "Best in Show" at Crufts in 1966 and 1982. Standard Poodles achieved the award in 1955, 1985, 2002 and 2014. The 2002 winner came from Norway and was the first overseas exhibit to win the Crufts best in show award.
History
The poodle is believed to have originated in Germany, where it was known as the Pudelhund. Pudel (cognate with the English word "puddle"), is derived from the Low German verb meaning "to splash about", and the word Hund in German means "dog" (cognate with "hound"). The breed was standardized in France, where it was commonly used as a water retriever. Due to the breed's popularity in France, it became established as its national breed.

Dogs 101
Dogs 101 is a show that airs on an American TV channel Animal Planet. Dog trainers and breeding experts explored the advantages and disadvantages of various breeds of dogs. In February 2016, new episodes began airing as Dogs 101: New Tricks, although it is exactly the same as (and therefore a continuation of) the first four seasons.
Plot
Each episode of Dogs 101 features 5-6 breeds of dogs. The show explains the characteristics of each featured breed of dog along with opinions from experts ranging from trainers to groomers to vets.

Scotty lived on the streets for 5 months, and no one was able to get close to him... he was terrified. People fed him, but he kept hiding under a house and that's where he lived.
Luckily, a few weeks ago, Chynna Arias saw a few of our Hope For Paws rescue videos, and called us for help. Lisa Chiarelli and I met at the location, and for two hours we struggled to save Scotty after he managed to wedge himself into a small compartment where we couldn't reach him.
By placing my camera inside the compartment, we were able to look at him through the screen and it provided us with useful information on how to go about this rescue.
During our struggle down there, Lisa lifts her head quickly, and she got hurt by a rusty nail and started bleeding.
As we were sitting there, we tried many different tricks until I spotted a metal pipe that enabled Lisa to create a larger opening and then I was able to grab his tail - something I have never done before on a rescue!
We managed to get him out, Scotty bit my leg a couple of times, and then he relaxed... he realized that we were there to help.
We crawled out, I took him to the hospital, and quickly left in order to take Lisa to urgent care for a Tetanus shot.
A few days later, Scotty continued to Lisa's house to be fostered and socialized with Frankie and Lola.
Scotty is now in a different foster home because Lisa will be getting today a more challenging project.
