http://www.emirates.com/meet_dubai | Truly a magical journey, this was one ride Ill never forget. Traversing the roads of the Hajar mountains, I got a glimpse of the early traditions of the people of the U.A.E. A simple life where the only greater thing than the peoples love for life, is the love they share for their land.
Road trip from Dubai to Kalba through mountain Highway. the road fallows through majestic Hajar mountains. This highway gives an easier and much more direct path between Dubai, Sharjah and the East coast Kalba, with two lanes each way .The winding highway goes through the Gulf’s longest tunnel . From Dubai it is E84 and after Mahela, it branches to E102 till Kalba. Due recent rains lots of surrounding desert sand has been dumped on the road, so now sand removal work is being done at many places on these roads.
The route for the run follows asphalt roads and graded gravel tracks through the spectacular Hajar mountains and is an uplifting (literally about 1000m of ascent & descent!) therapeutic experience to escape the urban mayhem of the modern UAE. The run starts and finishes in Dibba, Sultanate of Oman
Travel video about destination Sultanate in Oman. The Sultanate Of Oman is a fabulous land full of surprises, a splendid example of original Arabia that extends from the Straits Of Hormuz to the southern Dhofar. Up until the 1970’s the third largest country in the Arabian Peninsula was only accessible by various caravan routes but today it boasts an abundance of mysterious desert towns and splendid palaces. The white city of Sohar is the historic harbour of the Islamic world and the ‘Gateway To China’. It is still guarded by the white Sohar Fort, a mighty four-storey structure that dates back to the 14th century. The Hajar Mountains extend for almost six hundred kilometres from the Musandam Peninsula in the north to its eastern sections. They are also known as the Oman Mountains and divide ...

Travel video about destination Arabian Desert in Saudi Arabia. The oldest Arabian trading city, Dubai is a pulsating desert metropolis in the Middle East which is today synonymous with High Tech and Bedouins plus tall desert sand dunes, rocky terrain and the blazing sun.The Al-Fahidi Fort is Dubai’s oldest building and was built at the beginning of the 19th century and now houses the Dubai Museum. Narrow alleys lead through the Goldsuk, the traditional covered bazaar, in which shops and stalls are packed closely together, with merchandise worth millions glittering in tempting shop windows. But for those who wish to experience something a little different, the sand dunes of the desert are the perfect setting for Dune Riding, an exhilarating extreme sport that’s off the normal tourist trail....
Travel video about destination Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai is a fairy-tale holiday paradise with romantic desert scenery and a long history. Like an ancient kingdom from the 'One Thousand And One Nights', it's the second largest state in the United Arab Emirates located on the northern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The trading of dates, goats, pearls and fish brought the city much prosperity and it gradually developed into the largest trading centre in the Near East. Maritime life has always played a significant role in the lives of those who live on the Arabian Gulf. With its triangular sails and a design that has remained unchanged for thousands of years, the dhow still sails these waters. Hundreds of them lie at anchor close to the old town on the banks of Dubai Creek. ...
Travelling by car from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah, the small northern emirate state is a nice cool driving through the states of Sharjah and Ajman. Ras Al Khaimah means ‘head of the tent’. It is about an hour’s drive from Dubai International Airport by car. It is also known as RAK. It has the most varied landscapes in UAE, with Rocky Mountains, orange sandy deserts, green plains, creeks, lagoons and a long, clean stretch of coast. Most of RAKs' delights are to be spent outdoors. The Hajar mountains are spectacular and a drive into Wadi Bih can be a dramatic and desolate experience. There is a heritage village at the old fishing village of Al jazirah, a small fort near old RAK city with exhibitions of local life, and a Dhow building station. One can enjoy the fresh fish at the local fish landi...

This is my fourth video from the Summer 2014, where I travel to Oman. I rented a 4x4 and see so much of this amazing country! This is a longer video because I included many many segments of just driving, so that I could recall as many details about the trip as possible later in life. Also this shows off the amazing diversity of landscapes in Oman, but if you don't wanna watch sand turn forest and back to sand interspersed with nature photography, then you will probably want to skip around to the special sites (in order): The Bronze Age tower tombs at Jaylah, the archaeological sites of al-Balid and Khor Rori, the sinkhole and mountain views in the dhofar region, the site of Shisr/"Ubar," further Bronze Age tombs in the western Hajar mountains, and finally a climb up Jabal Shams, Oman's tal...
