Žacléř (Czech pronunciation: [ˈʒatslɛːr̝̊]) (German: Schatzlar) is a town in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has around 3,400 inhabitants.

Scripps Clinic is now the first in San Diego County to perform a groundbreaking new procedure to fix ACL tears. CBS 8’s Brian White sat down with Jenna Richardson, who underwent the procedure on Monday after tearing her ACL in July while mountain biking at Whistler Mountain in Canada.
“I came down this huge rock and my bike just kind of fell in a really weird way and my leg went with it,” said Richardson. “Super painful.”
Jenna found out she had torn her ACL, a ligament in her knee. For someone as active as she is, this was a problem. Traditional ACL reconstructive surgeries would call for tissue to be taken from other parts of her body or from a cadaver, and there can be some drawbacks.

I coniugi Rizzuto, con molti figli da sfamare, unitamente alla piccola illegittima Santina, che la loro figlia Concetta ha avuto a diciotto anni dal picconiere Caramazza, vivono miseramente in una zona interna della Sicilia, dove si trova la miniera di zolfo di Floristella. Oltre al padre coi due fratelli maggiori, Calogero e Pino, minatori, anche l'undicenne e biondissimo Aclà andrà in miniera: è stato infatti venduto per otto anni come "caruso" - addetto al trasporto a spalla in superficie dello zolfo - al picconiere Caramazza, in cambio di cinquecento lire, cioè del "soccorso morto", che andrebbe restituito se il bambino scappasse. Salutato da uno schiaffo d'avvertimento del suo padrone, Aclà il lunedì discende nella galleria, dove trova un ambiente infernale: lo zolfo rende l'aria irrespirabile e un caldo soffocante costringe i minatori a lavorare quasi nudi. La notte essi dormono in terra nelle gallerie, in una promiscuità che favorisce i rapporti omosessuali fra i grandi e la sodomizzazione del bambino. La violenza più terribile e crudele domina la miniera: il fratello di Aclà, Pino, è l'amante del picconiere "Melino", e il bambino viene subito adocchiato da qualche adulto, che vorrebbe approfittare di lui, ma si rifiuta sempre decisamente, e Pino, per quanto canzonato dai compagni, lo difende. Aclà, che deve trasportare canestri di zolfo da venticinque chili, quando una notte viene messo di guardia allo zolfo, e questo viene rubato perchè si è addormentato, riceve da Caramazza molte cinghiate. Aclà, dopo le percosse di Caramazza, scappa e torna a casa per trovare aiuto dai suoi, ma il padre lo picchia pesantemente e lo riaccompagna in miniera. Qui Aclà è ancora circuito dal solito minatore e Pino, per difenderlo, si prende botte e ingiurie. Nuovamente Aclà scappa dalla miniera, deciso a raggiungere il mare per andare in Australia dalla sorella. Ma vaga inutilmente nella campagna quasi deserta, perchè il mare è lontano, e infine viene riacciuffato dai carabinieri, in una grotta, nella quale dorme con un cane, che gli si è affezionato. Riportato a casa, il bambino viene picchiato selvaggiamente dal padre, mentre la famiglia e Caramazza assistono alla punizione. Tornato in miniera, e rimesso a far la guardia allo zolfo, Aclà immagina di fuggire ancora e di raggiungere finalmente il mare.

Oltre al padre coi due fratelli maggiori, Calogero e Pino, minatori, anche l'undicenne e biondissimo Aclà andrà in miniera: è stato infatti venduto per otto anni come "caruso" - addetto al trasporto a spalla in superficie dello zolfo - al picconiere Caramazza, in cambio di cinquecento lire, cioè del "soccorso morto", che andrebbe restituito se il bambino scappasse. Salutato da uno schiaffo d'avvertimento del suo padrone, Aclà il lunedì discende nella galleria, dove trova un ambiente infernale: lo zolfo rende l'aria irrespirabile e un caldo soffocante costringe i minatori a lavorare quasi nudi. La notte essi dormono in terra nelle gallerie, in una promiscuità che favorisce i rapporti omosessuali fra i grandi e la sodomizzazione del bambino. La violenza più terribile e crudele domina la miniera: il fratello di Aclà, Pino, è l'amante del picconiere "Melino", e il bambino viene subito adocchiato da qualche adulto, che vorrebbe approfittare di lui, ma si rifiuta sempre decisamente, e Pino, per quanto canzonato dai compagni, lo difende. Aclà, che deve trasportare canestri di zolfo da venticinque chili, quando una notte viene messo di guardia allo zolfo, e questo viene rubato perchè si è addormentato, riceve da Caramazza molte cinghiate. Aclà, dopo le percosse di Caramazza, scappa e torna a casa per trovare aiuto dai suoi, ma il padre lo picchia pesantemente e lo riaccompagna in miniera. Qui Aclà è ancora circuito dal solito minatore e Pino, per difenderlo, si prende botte e ingiurie. Nuovamente Aclà scappa dalla miniera, deciso a raggiungere il mare per andare in Australia dalla sorella. Ma vaga inutilmente nella campagna quasi deserta, perchè il mare è lontano, e infine viene riacciuffato dai carabinieri, in una grotta, nella quale dorme con un cane, che gli si è affezionato. Riportato a casa, il bambino viene picchiato selvaggiamente dal padre, mentre la famiglia e Caramazza assistono alla punizione. Tornato in miniera, e rimesso a far la guardia allo zolfo, Aclà immagina di fuggire ancora e di raggiungere finalmente il mare.

Boston Children’s Hospital researchers have been working to develop a better way to treat ACL injuries and have launched a clinical trial to study their new technique.
This new surgery — bridge-enhanced ACL repair (BEAR) — uses a special protein-enriched sponge to encourage the torn ends of an ACL to reconnect and heal. The patient no longer needs to have the torn ACL removed and replaced with a tendon graft. This is why the surgery is called ACL repair rather than ACL reconstruction.
Surgeons hope bridge-enhanced ACL repair will be better way to treat ACL tears than ACL reconstruction in several ways. ACL repair may be more accurate than ACL reconstruction, and it may lead to better long-term outcomes, including a lower rate of arthritis and a reduced risk of re-tearing the reconstructed ACL.
Why do surgeons need a better way to treat ACL tears?
An ACL tear can be a devastating sports injury. A growing number of young athletes face ACL injuries, or ACL tears, every year. The current standard of care, ACL surgery — or ACL reconstruction — is a good solution. But it is linked with a 20 percent risk of re-tearing the ACL, and many young patients face an increased risk of arthritis. Bridge-enhanced ACL repair may overcome these challenges.

Tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are most commonly caused by having the upper-leg displaced backwards or sideways by impact, while the lower leg is in a stable position.
Reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament is required to restore its function following damage to it. The ligament itself cannot be repaired, and so a replacement is typically grafted. A patellar tendon graft involves the removal of the middle section of the patellar tendon, along with attached plugs of bone on each end. A single tunnel into the tibia and fibula bones is made. The damaged ligament is extracted, and the replacement ligament is brought through the bones, sometimes being replaced by screws.

Scripps Clinic is now the first in San Diego County to perform a groundbreaking new procedure to fix ACL tears. CBS 8’s Brian White sat down with Jenna Richardson, who underwent the procedure on Monday after tearing her ACL in July while mountain biking at Whistler Mountain in Canada.
“I came down this huge rock and my bike just kind of fell in a really weird way and my leg went with it,” said Richardson. “Super painful.”
Jenna found out she had torn her ACL, a ligament in her knee. For someone as active as she is, this was a problem. Traditional ACL reconstructive surgeries would call for tissue to be taken from other parts of her body or from a cadaver, and there can be some drawbacks.

I coniugi Rizzuto, con molti figli da sfamare, unitamente alla piccola illegittima Santina, che la loro figlia Concetta ha avuto a diciotto anni dal picconiere Caramazza, vivono miseramente in una zona interna della Sicilia, dove si trova la miniera di zolfo di Floristella. Oltre al padre coi due fratelli maggiori, Calogero e Pino, minatori, anche l'undicenne e biondissimo Aclà andrà in miniera: è stato infatti venduto per otto anni come "caruso" - addetto al trasporto a spalla in superficie dello zolfo - al picconiere Caramazza, in cambio di cinquecento lire, cioè del "soccorso morto", che andrebbe restituito se il bambino scappasse. Salutato da uno schiaffo d'avvertimento del suo padrone, Aclà il lunedì discende nella galleria, dove trova un ambiente infernale: lo zolfo rende l'aria irrespirabile e un caldo soffocante costringe i minatori a lavorare quasi nudi. La notte essi dormono in terra nelle gallerie, in una promiscuità che favorisce i rapporti omosessuali fra i grandi e la sodomizzazione del bambino. La violenza più terribile e crudele domina la miniera: il fratello di Aclà, Pino, è l'amante del picconiere "Melino", e il bambino viene subito adocchiato da qualche adulto, che vorrebbe approfittare di lui, ma si rifiuta sempre decisamente, e Pino, per quanto canzonato dai compagni, lo difende. Aclà, che deve trasportare canestri di zolfo da venticinque chili, quando una notte viene messo di guardia allo zolfo, e questo viene rubato perchè si è addormentato, riceve da Caramazza molte cinghiate. Aclà, dopo le percosse di Caramazza, scappa e torna a casa per trovare aiuto dai suoi, ma il padre lo picchia pesantemente e lo riaccompagna in miniera. Qui Aclà è ancora circuito dal solito minatore e Pino, per difenderlo, si prende botte e ingiurie. Nuovamente Aclà scappa dalla miniera, deciso a raggiungere il mare per andare in Australia dalla sorella. Ma vaga inutilmente nella campagna quasi deserta, perchè il mare è lontano, e infine viene riacciuffato dai carabinieri, in una grotta, nella quale dorme con un cane, che gli si è affezionato. Riportato a casa, il bambino viene picchiato selvaggiamente dal padre, mentre la famiglia e Caramazza assistono alla punizione. Tornato in miniera, e rimesso a far la guardia allo zolfo, Aclà immagina di fuggire ancora e di raggiungere finalmente il mare.
