ISIS jihadists are taking over strategic towns and areas all over Northern Iraq. Some have asked does this have any Biblical significance? Yes it indeed does! As we have been saying for years that "But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him:" (Dan 11:44). In our booklet Middle East in Prophecy we have proved from the Bible that the "east" and the "north" are the lands of Media and Persia. Now although I documented the fact that Media is part of this area, I did not emphasize it the way I emphasized Iran, so I modified it to make sure that Media is important also to this prophecy. After 549 B.C., when Cyrus defeated Media, the area under Persian control remained the most important provinces of Persia. Media consisted of parts of Iran, northern Iraq (much of the area occupied by the Kurds today). These ancient countries under their modern names now occupy center stage in the world of politics. This war on Terror was prophesied in your Bible! And it continues to rage on. This is leading towards the end of NATO, the end of the Israelite western powers. The latter half of that prophecy says, "therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make [Annihilate] away many." Now we have seen George Bush and the rest of the NATO allies fight against the Al-Qaida Network in the old Persian lands of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Now we are seeing trouble brewing in Iran and Northern Iraq. The Iraqi government wants the Americans to help them defeat ISIS in Iraq. These "Tidings" or reports are "troubling" us, as did Al-Qaida in Afghanistan. Will president Obama send troops or air strikes in Iraq as did George Bush in Afghanistan? The prophecy has already been fulfilled in 2001 but it could continue with the USA sending troops and airstrikes and drones in Iraq. It seems the mood of the day is in favor of this being so. If he does then he is fulfilling prophecy, and continuing the prophecy. If not it has already been fulfilled in 2001. This will lead towards the USA and NATO occupying Israel because of these "tidings" in these areas. All of these jihadists and terrorists, including the largest state sponsored terrorist Iran want Israel wiped off the map. This will bring the NATO Allies especially the USA and Britain (Canada) into Israel to occupy it and protect them. "And he [King of the North] shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain;" (Daniel 11:45). Troop deployments, military basis in Israel. Obama's foreign policy is so bad at the moment that this is the one reason why his approval rating is so low among the American people. He cannot sit back and watch America's interest abroad fizzle away. He cannot afford to. And Americas greatest foreign investment and interest is Israel. This is the next great prophetic event! When this does happen then, "yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him." (v.45). The end of NATO, the end of the USA and Britain as world powers. Jesus told us to "WATCH." This is the event we are to watch. Because after this comes the transition from the potters clay to the miry clay which is the rise of the Beast power in Europe, then comes the great tribulation, "And at that time [when the King of the north comes to his end] shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:[Jer 30:7 "Jacob's Trouble"]" (Daniel 12:1).
