Jeff Altman (born August 13, 1951) is an American stand-up comedian and actor who has appeared as a guest on Late Show with David Letterman 41 times. In a recent appearance (June 19, 2014), Altman played a card trick where, after Letterman displayed much doubt in the authenticity of the trick, he isolated and found the card that Letterman picked and signed. Altman mesmerized contemporaries like David Letterman and Jerry Seinfeld, and inspired future comedians like Judd Apatow.
Altman has also had numerous acting roles in movies and television such as Dr. Gene Splicer in Tiny Toon Adventures, Professor Dweeb in Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters, Clint Mullet on Mork and Mindy, and is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Hughie Hogg, the nephew of Jefferson Davis Hogg, on The Dukes of Hazzard.
Altman was a TV cast member in the 1977 Starland Vocal Band Show, and later appeared as sleazy record promoter Lennie Richfield in the movie American Hot Wax in 1978. Altman also had a starring role as the host of the short-lived NBC variety show Pink Lady and Jeff in 1980, which TV Guide has ranked #35 on its "50 Worst TV Shows of All Time" list. Later in the decade, he became the in-house comedian of Solid Gold, where his characters included Al Punker, fast-talking proprietor of "Al Punker's Music Barn," the "music vampire Count Downula," and the ex-boxer Leonard Moon, the last of whom would state "I don't have the brains of a ice cube" and claim, "I am the Solid Gold music critic. Tonight, my subject is music."

Shot by my grandfather on his Bell & Howell Filmo using 16mm Kodachrome film stock. This footage was taken a year after the California theme park opened. It was quite a surprise going through this and seeing my grandmother meeting Walt Disney himself! I've been doing my best to find out what they were shooting at the front of the park. So far I've been unsuccessful. Transferred to HD (1080PsF 23.98) myself off a Spirit and Color Corrected using a da Vinci 2k Plus. Slowed to 18fps to match the original film speed.
The previous film had such a positive response that I felt compelled to post the rest. In these short clips you see more of an interaction between my grandparents. As someone who never really knew his grandfather; these reels of film have really let me feel related to him and the rest of my family, too. Thank you to all the positive comments and support!
This is footage shot by my grandfather back in the mid to late 1950's. This features my grandparents, aunts, mother, and their neighbors. Clearly the children were not fond of the light source. I inherited tens of thousands of feet of 16mm about 8 years back and have only just found myself in the position to properly go through it all. Shot on a Bell & Howell Filmo 16mm Camera with Kodachrome film. I transferred this on a Spirit and Color Corrected using a da Vinci 2k Plus. I'm in love with the quality of this film stock and only wish I had an opportunity to shoot it myself. Music by Mike Baiardi. A Cover of The Ramone's "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)."
More footage left by my grandfather. 16mm Kodachrome. He trained dogs for the Chicago Police Department's K9 Unit. This was his prized canine. He supposedly belongs to some sort of Police Dog Hall Of Fame. I haven't been able to find it. Shot sometime around the mid to late 1960's.
Another short two page adaptation for my film 3 class that I was the camera operator and editor for. Written by Robert Altman and Frank Barhydt. Directed by Jeff Loehrke. March 2008 Shot on Sony HDR-FX1 and Canon GL2. Edited on Avid.
