Xenoblade Chronicles X

Xenoblade Chronicles X, known in Japan as XenobladeX (Japanese: ゼノブレイドクロス, Hepburn: Zenobureido Kurosu, pronounced as "Xenoblade Cross"), is a science fiction, action role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Wii U home video game console. Part of the Xeno series of video games, it serves as a spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. The game centers on the player's customizable avatar, who works to coexist with the indigenous creatures on a hostile alien planet while striving to protect humanity. Similar to its predecessor, the game features an open-world design that strongly emphasizes exploration. It was released on April 29, 2015 in Japan and in December 2015 internationally.

Gameplay

In a similar fashion to the original Xenoblade Chronicles, the game plays as an open world role-playing video game, with an emphasis on exploration. Traveling can take place on foot, or in large humanoid robots, approximately four times the height of the average playable character, called "Skells" ("Dolls" in the Japanese version), that the player may opt to control. The Skells have the ability to fly, traverse water, and transform into vehicles such as motorcycles or tanks. Aerial battles will also take place in the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles

Xenoblade Chronicles, known in Japan as Xenoblade (Japanese: ゼノブレイド, Hepburn: Zenobureido), is a Japanese action role-playing game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Wii home console. Initially released in Japan in 2010, it later released in Europe in 2011, and was eventually released in North America in 2012. A port to the New Nintendo 3DS was released worldwide in 2015. Xenoblade Chronicles forms part of the Xeno metaseries, although no direct narrative connections exist to previous Xeno games, and incorporates aesthetic and narrative elements from both fantasy and science fiction. The game features navigation through an open world, side-quests tied to party members' affinity, and a real-time action-based battle system which incorporates the main character's ability to see glimpses of the future.

Xenoblade Chronicles takes place on the frozen bodies of two warring gods, the Bionis and the Mechonis. The people of Bionis, including the human-like Homs, are in a perpetual war with the Machina machine race of Mechonis. Key to the Homs' efforts in fighting the Machina's Mechon army is the Monado, a sword said to have been wielded by the Bionis. In an attack on his colony, the main protagonist Shulk sees his childhood friend Fiora killed. Having discovered his ability to wield the Monado, he sets out on a quest for revenge.

Forest

A forest is a large area of land covered with trees or other woody vegetation. Hundreds of more precise definitions of forest are used throughout the world, incorporating factors such as tree density, tree height, land use, legal standing and ecological function. According to the widely used United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization definition, forests covered an area of four billion hectares (15 million square miles) or approximately 30 percent of the world's land area in 2006.

Forests are the dominant terrestrial ecosystem of Earth, and are distributed across the globe. Forests account for 75% of the gross primary productivity of the Earth's biosphere, and contain 80% of the Earth's plant biomass.

Forests at different latitudes form distinctly different ecozones: boreal forests near the poles tend to consist of evergreens, while tropical forests near the equator tend to be distinct from the temperate forests at mid-latitude. The amount of precipitation and the elevation of the forest also affects forest composition.
