The traditionally mounted spare now resides under the cargo floor so that the RAV4 now has a true liftgate, opening up instead of out. RAV4's standard 2.5L engine produces 176hp along with 172 lb.-ft. of torque. A hybrid model also exists with a combined peak power of 194hp. AWD is standard on the hybrid model as it uses a third electric motor on the rear axle to provide those wheels with torque when the system senses it requires power to those wheels.
