Plot: When All Else Fails is a dramatic thriller about a billionaire's son who comes to realize the power of life and love when his girlfriend is put into a life-threatening situation. Mike, the film's protagonist, is 18, rich, and getting ready to leave for college. At his father, billionaire Thomas Williams', urging, Mike struggles with whether or not to break up with his long-time girlfriend, Andreana-- a free-spirited girl who is from a lower economic class-- in favor of college-bound freedom. But when Andreana is kidnapped and held for ransom, Mike is forced to go along with her captor's demands in order to keep Andreana, and himself, alive. Though most ransom stories focus on problems with the money drop or kidnapping, the conflict in this story is much more vital-- Andreana is diabetic, and as Mike struggles to get to her, her blood sugar drops lower and lower, to a point where every minute that passes really is a matter of life or death.

Plot: Det. Sgt. Mark Dixon always wanted to be something his old man wasn't: a guy on the right side of the law. But for a good guy, he's awfully vicious. After several complaints over his roughing people up, his boss, Insp. Nicholas Foley, demotes him. Foley tells him he's a good man, but needs to get his head on straight and be more like Det. Lt. Thomas, who has just gotten a promotion. Meanwhile, Tommy Scalise has an illegal dice game going and is looking to make a sucker out of the rich Ted Morrison, who was brought in by Ken Paine and his beautiful wife Morgan. She figures out too late her husband is using her as a decoy. Paine strikes her when she refuses to play along. The chivalrous Morrison intervenes but Paine knocks him out cold. That seems to be the worst of it, but later it turns out the guy is dead; and Paine looks guilty. Soon Dixon has fallen in love with Morgan - but not before losing his temper again and committing a terrible deed that he tries to cover up. Morgan's father, a tale-spinning taxi driver, may take the rap for it. It's up to Dixon to try to pin the blame on Scalise.

While Joe only has eyes for Cassie. Lana kills Ed, but claims she had no choice as Paul threatened to kill her if she did not kill her husband, only after he rebuffs her advances. At the trial she falls to pieces with the police dragging a hysterical Lana away, the judge throws the charges against Joe out and frees him to take over his old friends business.
