AUS QLD: Injured Whale Approaches Kayakers for Help July 132:40

A kayak tour group on the Sunshine Coast had an unforgettable experience when a humpback whale approached them for help, on July 13. Epic Ocean Adventures was running the tour at Rainbow Beach when the juvenile whale approached. "For around 10 minutes the whale was rubbing against the kayak and was turning over to what seemed to be trying to show us something. We saw the whale had rope tangled around one of its flippers and was effecting its movements." Tyron van Santen, the tour guide, proceeded to untangle the flipper but the whale seemed to have swallowed the rope and other materials. Local authorities were immediately called. The video shows the whale alongside the tour group and then swimming with the rope in its mouth. Credit: Youtube/Epic Ocean Adventures
