Prakash Mehra
Prakash Mehra (Hindi: प्रकाश मेहरा, 13 July 1939 – 17 May 2009) was a legendary Hindi film producer and director. Along with Manmohan Desai, Prakash Mehra was regarded as the pioneer of "Masala" film genre. His collaboration with the actor Amitabh Bachchan resulted in several box office blockbusters and classics, due to which Mehra was considered among the 'Golden Directors' of his time.
Career
Born on 13 July 1939 in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, Mehra started in the late 1950s as a production controller. In 1968, he directed Shashi Kapoor who played a double role in Haseena Maan Jayegi. . In 1973, he produced and directed Zanjeer. This hit with Amitabh Bachchan started a relationship that spanned 7 more films, 6 being huge blockbusters (Khoon Pasina, Hera Pheri (1976 film), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Lawaaris (1981 film), Namak Halaal, ;Sharaabi) and Jaadugar. Zanjeer launched the career of Bachchan as a lead actor , spanning 2 decades of collaboration. Their eighth film together Jaadugar failed at the box office and was towards the end of the 1st phase of Bachchan's legendary career.

Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan (IPA: [əmɪˈtaːbʱ ˈbəttʃən]; born 11 October 1942) is an Indian film actor. He first gained popularity in the early 1970s for movies like Zanjeer and Deewar, and was dubbed India's first "angry young man" for his on-screen roles in Bollywood. Often referred to in the media as the "Shahenshah of Bollywood", "Star of the Millennium" or "Big B", he has since appeared in over 180 Indian films in a career spanning more than four decades. Bachchan is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. So total was his dominance of the movie scene in the 1970s and 1980s that the French director François Truffaut called him a "one-man industry."
Bachchan has won numerous accolades in his career, including three National Film Awards as Best Actor and many awards at international film festivals and award ceremonies. He has won 15 Filmfare Awards and is the most-nominated performer in any major acting category at Filmfare, with 40 nominations overall. In addition to acting, Bachchan has worked as a playback singer, film producer and television presenter. He also had a stint in politics in the 1980s.

Prakash is a common given name in Asian, Hindu, Sanskrit names and widely used in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. Prakash, is generally used as a masculine name. It is pronounced Pra-kash. The word Prakash is derived from the Sanskrit word "prakāśa", literally meaning "Bright light" or "Sun light" or "Moon light" or simply "Light". Metaphorically, it designates the person as a source of enlightenment or wisdom. From the Sanskrit 'pra' meaning "forth" and 'kāśa' meaning "shining." Hence the meaning "luminous; shining forth". Hindu given names are from Sanskrit. Given names derive from a number of sources including Religion, Nature, family names and Sanskrit vocabulary words. Sacred Hindu texts are the source of most names. And these names generally contain a given name followed by some Number of secondary names. Secondary names are often patronyms, names derived from the Father, grandfather or other paternal ancestor, village names, occupation names, or names of Gods.

It was on the sets of Prakash Mehra’s Blockbuster SHARABI that we met with Amitabh Bachchan. Mumbai is always hot and humid and Amitabh was wearing a long sleeved fleece top. The scene that was being filmed is on the screen for only a minute, but it took the whole morning to film it. We sat patiently to get to interview the Big B. Our crew had flown from Vancouver to Mumbai for this interview. Once he sat down, the interview was over in no time. Amitabh had just been to Vancouver a year prior to our interview and he did not have a good experience during his show here. He was a little on the quieter side. He was sub-dude but not rude.

Synopsis - Wealthy Prince Ragbeer Singh shares a secret relationship with well-known singer Miss. Vidhya. When Ragbeer learns that Vidhya is pregnant with his child, he walks away from the relationship. A devastated Vidhya gives birth to a baby boy and passes away, leaving the baby to be taken care of by an alcoholic named Gangu Ganpat. The boy grows up in a poor environment and is named after a stray dog, Hira. Hira seeks employment in a bar and is paid the right amount for his services; but his hard earn money is been blown away by Gangu on liquor. Fed up of this Hira run away and is now employed as a logger manager, here is where Hira will come across his dad (Ragbeer Singh). But the question remain how will Hira react when he meet his dad and how will he be able to recognize his dad?
