Mildura

Mildura resides on the banks of the Murray River in Victoria, with a population of approximately 30,000. It is a regional city that produces over 80% of Victoria's grapes. Many wineries in Australia also obtain their grapes from the town. Many Indigenous Australians lived in the region of Mildura, before it was settled by Europeans in 1857, as it offered a high amount of food. The local tribes, among others, were the Latje Latje and Yerre Yerre.

Mildura is a very flat city and as well as being by the river, is surrounded by several billabongs and lakes. It has been described as having a Mediterranean climate and being a very friendly town. Before travelling to Mildura, visitors must dispose of all fruit and vegetable before entering the area. This is because it is located in the middle of the Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone which acts to prevent the spread of fruit-fly in Australia.
