Robert Adolph Wilton Morley, CBE (26 May 1908 – 3 June 1992) was an English actor who was usually cast as a pompous English gentleman representing the Establishment, often in supporting roles. In Movie Encyclopedia, film critic Leonard Maltin describes Morley as "recognisable by his ungainly bulk, bushy eyebrows, thick lips and double chin, [...] particularly effective when cast as a pompous windbag." More politely, Ephraim Katz in his International Film Encyclopaedia describes Morley as "a rotund, triple-chinned, delightful character player of the British and American stage and screen." In his autobiography, Substantial Gentleman, Morley said his stage career started with managements valuing his appearance for playing "substantial gentleman" roles — as a doctor, lawyer, accountant or other professional member of society.
Morley was born in Semley, Wiltshire, England, the son of Gertrude Emily (née Fass) and Robert Wilton Morley, a Major in the British Army. His mother came from a German family that had emigrated to South Africa. Morley attended Wellington College, Berkshire, which he hated, followed by RADA. As he was a famous "Old Wellingtonian", generations of headmasters tried to contact him, without success, with Morley stating "the only reason for me visiting Wellington would be to burn it down".

In its entirety, here's a rather splendid Robert Morley performance from a 1969 Dee Time. I hesitate to call it an interview, as Morley barely needs any prompting to sparkle.
In the 1890s, famed writer Oscar Wilde (Robert Morley) embarks on a relationship with Lord Alfred Douglas (John Neville), despite his marriage to Constance (Phyllis Calvert). This relationship and its consequences are the focus of this dramatization of Wilde's life. Wilde sues Alfred's father, the Marquis of Queensberry (Edward Chapman), for libel - a lawsuit that turns against him when a prosecuting lawyer forces him to admit to his homosexuality, leading to a second lawsuit. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053149/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Classic British supernatural-comedy film, starring Robert Morley and Felix Aylmer. Two 18th century officers desperate to prevent war, hatch a plan to capture the Duke of Marlborough and hold him prisoner until the threat of hostilities passes. But whilst testing the contraption they've designed to trap him - they manage to kill themselves!! Their stupidity incurs the wrath of Queen Anne in the afterlife, so as a punishment they're condemned to haunt the Berkeley Square house until a British monarch enters it..! NOTE - I believe this film to be in the public domain.
Ladies Who Do (1963 film) Mrs. Cragg (Peggy Mount) works as a charwoman (part-time domestic servant) for retired Colonel Whitforth (Robert Morley) and as a cleaner at an office block in London. It is whilst doing her office cleaning that she retrieves an unsmoked cigar as a gift for the Colonel and unwittingly wraps it in a scrap of paper discarded by a property financier named James Ryder (Harry H. Corbett). On receiving his cigar, the Colonel discovers that the scrap of paper actually contains details of a City takeover bid and unscrupulously uses this insider information to make £5000 on the stock market, which he shares with Mrs. Cragg. This new-found wealth prompts the pair, together with three other ‘chars’ who are Mrs. Cragg's neighbours in Pitt Street, to form the company 'Ladezu...

Written & Read by Sheridan Morley. Sheridan Morley writes: "When my father died at eighty-four on the morning of Derby Day 1992 (one of the few he ever missed), he and I had been together for just over fifty years. In the immediate aftermath of his sudden death, I knew two things; how much I would always miss the sheer joy of his company, and how much I wanted to write about him, if only to explain to myself and my children the life and career of the last great Boulevardier of his or any other time." This critical and revealing biography is also an attempt to find out what it meant to be Robert Morley, and to be his elder son. https://www.deadtreepublishing.com/products/robert-my-father-audiobook
While hobnobbing at a rather high-brow function, the likes of which I often frequent, I came to learn that none of the great minds surrounding me could plot Waziristan on a map, let alone grasp it's relevance on the world stage. I was further horrified to discover that this very clip; I like to call it "Robert Morely's Waziristan", was nowhere to be found on the internet. Nowhere. This world that I live in... I'm not sure why the video is washed out, something must have happened while I was editing the clip for length. My apologies, just turn the sound up louder for the full effect.
Hey yo, it's on, check my catalogue
Bully beats and share the songs
My kush strong I cut along
That gravel road, I travel along
Miniatures, y'all minimal
I kill them all, I finish all
They checking into my history
They found out I've been involved
... is with me, you fucking with me
Want me gone then come and get me
Can't hold me down, they know me now
Over grounds, over clouds
I'm too focus, you hopeless
Thinking now I might go move forward
They got 20 20 I'm a visionary
No dose, still picture mary
Boys say he too changed
I booze that, turn blue black
They heard this, like who's that
I put new school, that boo back
I'm moving out, turn it up
Till someone's saying that's too loud
I'm too hot, I can't cool out
... move crowds
My destination is top of the world
Top of the world
... I'm cold hearted, no die fear
Maybe different, my pop's here
Turn it up, no vouch here
Cheaper cloud my thoughts...
Still drop jewels, the chosen one
Like OC, my flow's numb
Work hard, these days long
... doll, I came... pray to god I'm king now
Don't smell loud, that hate, nah
Swallow it,... I'm real talk, no counterfeit
I came to buzz,... raging on, pay tomorrow
Ray bans like Ray Charles
Name brand like... I cut the bars like crayons
Wishing all this... y'alls is wasted
Good money take all the braces... so close that I can taste it
I'm high as hell, no tippy toes,
Molly paper, switch the road,... we dog wild
It's for the soul man
My destination is top of the world
