The New King James Version (NKJV) is a translation of the Bible published by HarperCollins (a subsidiary of News Corp). The New Testament was published in 1979, the Psalms in 1980, and the full Bible in 1982. It took a total of 7 years to complete. The anglicized edition was originally known as the Revised Authorized Version, but the NKJV title is now used universally.
The NKJV translation project was conceived by Arthur Farstad. It was inaugurated in 1975 with two meetings (Nashville and Chicago) of 130 biblical scholars, pastors, and theologians. The men who were invited prepared the guidelines for the NKJV.
The aim of its translators was to update the vocabulary and grammar of the King James Version, while preserving the classic style and literary beauty of the original 1611 KJV. The 130 translators believed in unyielding faithfulness to the original Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew texts including the Dead Sea Scrolls. Also agreed upon for most New King James Bibles were easier event descriptions, a history of each book, and added dictionary and updated concordance.
The New King James Version (NKJV) has been trusted by millions for over 30 years. Known for its accuracy, beauty, and clarity, the NKJV translation combines the beauty of the King James translation with modern-day language. For more info, visit www.theNKJVBible.com.

The "New" King James Bible is a fraudulent counterfeit of the KJV. From the occult, pagan triquetra symbol on the front cover to Thomas Nelson Publishers' false claim that the New King James Version remains faithful to the Textus Receptus to side by side verse comparisons with the King James Bible. If possible please buy the content from the publisher. There are 2.2 billion Christians on earth today. But only a privileged few, around 12% have the means and the accessibility to buy Christian contents. Many Christians are too poor to buy the content or live in places where Christian contents are not available. Out of the 12% who have the means and accessibility to buy Christian media, only around 0.5% ever buys a Christian content. In other words only 1 out of 200 Christians ever buys a Christian content. Please buy the content to keep Christian media in business. ☞ 2. If possible make copies and distribute to your poor neighbors...
