The OSS, the precursor to both Special Forces and the CIA supported a resistance network of partisans in enemy held Asia and Europe during World War II. The OSS armed and trained the resistance forces. They used whatever weapons were at hand, often this meant shotguns or else they worked with captured German arms, like the compact MP40 and MP28 sub-machine guns.

Oss (Dutch: [ɔs]) is a municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant.

City Center of Oss
Oss has a shopping center with outlets including The Sting, Houtbrox, C&A, V&D and many more. The center has many squares. The only real shopping streets (also the best known) are the Heuvelstraat, Walstraat and Peperstraat. The squares are connected with these shopping streets and passages. In these passages are also shops. One of the passages (The Passage, Dutch: de Passage, Local Dialect: 't Gengske) had in 2014 a total renovation. It is now looking like an old Dutch street. The Peperstraat is the next street for a total renovation.
The city of Oss
There is archaeological evidence that humans have lived in and around Oss for 4,000 years. Major archaeological finds were the Vorstengraf burial sites and the indigenous-Roman burial fields of Oss-Ussen.
Oss was first mentioned in a letter by Pope Alexander II on 6 May 1069. Oss was granted city rights in 1399 by Hertogin (Duchess) Johanna van Brabant. Present-day Oss has several chemical and pharmaceutical industries like Merck & Co. (previously Schering-Plough, Organon and Diosynth). Oss is also host to the professional football team FC Oss, and is the birthplace of former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ruud van Nistelrooy, although he did not play for the local side, but for rivals FC Den Bosch.

Välkommen till Stockholm, Sverige, mitt hemland. Låt oss gå checka in. We’re in Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. We’re going to start the morning by exploring Gamla Stan, the old part of town. Gamla Stan is where Stockholm was founded in 1252, and in the 18th and 19th century it was considered a bit of a slum where no one really wanted to be. But today, it’s one of the most popular and beautiful tourist attractions in Stockholm. It’s really cute here as well. Let’s go and have a look around.
During the Europe Train Challenge, we’ve gone to so many old towns, but Gamla Stan here in Stockholm is still my favorite. It’s so cute, it’s so cozy, and it’s so quiet. I love it. It’s also kind of weird because it’s about 10 o’clock in the morning, and there are not many people about at all. It’s a Monday morning, there’s no tourists, the shops aren’t open, it’s kind of strange. It’s kinda strange. Jag är svensk. Jag en viking. Jag är svensk. Pretty cool, huh? Apparently this is the narrowest street in Stockholm. Pretty long too. We’re having a quick break before checking out the changing of the guard at 12 o’clock, so we bought a few traditional Swedish snacks. Yeah. We bought some kanelbullar. Swedish cinnamon buns, and—you can have that one—and also knäckebröd, Swedish sort of crispbread with honey in it.
We’re at the Royal Palace. It’s one of the largest royal palaces in Europe where the royal family still lives. We just checked out the changing of the guard—well, we checked out the changing of the guard with a music show. I’ve never seen soldiers walking around, marching around all serious-looking with Abba in the background. It’s kind of funny, and it’s very Swedish. Now we’re going to go and visit one of the islands. What I love most about the city is that it’s surrounded by water. Stockholm is situated on 14 islands which makes it really easy to get away from the city. I mean I can see the palace over there, and the parliament, and museums, and right across the bridge I have this beautiful park where I can just relax and hang out. I think it’s perfect. We’ve had a great day in Stockholm. It’s been really fun, it’s such a cute city. Yeah, it’s really cute. Tomorrow we’re off to Finland (https://youtu.be/KvgajmwdDNk).

Flåm 2015 – Reiseliv og Språk Lillehammer videregående skole avdeling Sør
Vi reiste med forskjellige transportmidler på turen vår, buss, bergensbanen og flåmsbanen (tog). Bussjåføren var et veldig godt vertskap for oss, og ga oss forskjellig type service som f.eks. tilgang på do under turen. Under både bussturen og togturene fikk vi mange flotte naturopplevelser med mye variert landskap. Flåmsbanen var en veldig bra attraksjon med elementer av både natur og kulturen i området. På denne togturen stoppet toget foran Kjosfossen som var en kjempe fin naturattraksjon og opplevelse. I tillegg kom huldra frem foran fossen og danset, noe som baserer seg på en den norske kulturen om troll, huldre og andre myter. I Flåm var det mye forskjellige formidlingselementer og frie goder som turistsenter, informasjonssenter, gratis museum og toaletter.
Vi tok deretter en båttur med «Fjordsafari», en naturattraksjon med innslag av kulturen og kulturlandskapet rundt fjordene. Båtguiden vår var et fantastisk vertskap som ga god service, blant annet sørget han for at vi hadde det bra under hele turen og ga oss tepper da vi ble kalde. Opplevelsen av god service får vi når opplevelsen vår er større enn forventingene våre. I tillegg fikk vi en flott naturopplevelse med både niser og seler nært ved oss. Vi overnattet på Flåm Vandrerhjem, som hadde et supert vertskap. Vertskapet var bra, fordi vi blant annet følte oss velkomne da vi kom. Vi fikk servert middag av «Green Norway» med kortreist lokalmat. Konkurransefortrinnet Flåm har for de utenlandske turistene er den fanatiske og unike naturen. Fjordene rundt Flåm er dessuten på Unescos verdensarvliste. Flåm har også alle faktorene i det helhetlige reiselivsproduktet. I Undredal hadde vi en bra guide og vertskap i den lokale stavkirken og masse annet service som brannvesen, lokalbutikk og lokalproduserte varer som blant annet geitost. Vi hadde også et flott verkskap på Borgund stavkirke.

We traveled with different transportation on our trip, bus, The Bergen Line and The Flåm Railway (train). The bus driver was a very good host for us and gave us different types of services such as access to the bathroom during the trip. During the bus and train rides, we saw great scenery with a varied landscape. The Flåm Railway was a very good attraction with elements of both nature and culture of the area. The train stopped in front of Kjosfossen which was a fantastic natural attraction and experience. In addition, “huldra” appeared by the waterfall and danced, which is based on a Norwegian culture about trolls, fairies and other myths. In Flåm there was much different means of communication elements and free goods such as a tourist center, information center, free museum and restrooms.
We then took a boat trip with “Fjordsafari”, a nature attraction with an insight in the culture and the culture landscape around the fjords. Our boat guide was an amazing host for us, and gave us great service. For example, he made sure that we were all good during the trip and also gave us blankets when we got cold. We experience great service when our experience is higher than our expectations. In addition to that we had a fantastic nature experience with both harbour porpoises (niser) and pinnipeds (seler) close to our boat. We stayed at the Flåm Hostel, were we experienced great hospitality. The hospitality was great, because we all felt welcome when we arrived. The dinner was served by “Green Norway”, with local food. The competitive edge Flåm has for foreign tourists are the fantastic and unique nature. The fjords are also on Unesco world heritage list. Flåm also have all the factors to complete the total tourism product. In Undredal we had a great guide and host at the local Stave Church. There were also other services like a fire department, local stores and local produced products like goat cheese. We also had a great guide and host at the Borgund Stave Church.

During the bus and train rides, we saw great scenery with a varied landscape. The Flåm Railway was a very good attraction with elements of both nature and culture of the area. The train stopped in front of Kjosfossen which was a fantastic natural attraction and experience. In addition, “huldra” appeared by the waterfall and danced, which is based on a Norwegian culture about trolls, fairies and other myths. In Flåm there was much different means of communication elements and free goods such as a tourist center, information center, free museum and restrooms.
We then took a boat trip with “Fjordsafari”, a nature attraction with an insight in the culture and the culture landscape around the fjords. Our boat guide was an amazing host for us, and gave us great service. For example, he made sure that we were all good during the trip and also gave us blankets when we got cold. We experience great service when our experience is higher than our expectations. In addition to that we had a fantastic nature experience with both harbour porpoises (niser) and pinnipeds (seler) close to our boat. We stayed at the Flåm Hostel, were we experienced great hospitality. The hospitality was great, because we all felt welcome when we arrived. The dinner was served by “Green Norway”, with local food. The competitive edge Flåm has for foreign tourists are the fantastic and unique nature. The fjords are also on Unesco world heritage list. Flåm also have all the factors to complete the total tourism product. In Undredal we had a great guide and host at the local Stave Church. There were also other services like a fire department, local stores and local produced products like goat cheese. We also had a great guide and host at the Borgund Stave Church.

He also brought in many reforms and Tibetan power spread rapidly creating a large and powerful empire. In 640 he married Princess Wencheng, the niece of the powerful Chinese emperor Taizong of Tang China.
Under the next few Tibetan kings, Buddhism became established as the state religion and Tibetan power increased even further over large areas of Central Asia, while major inroads were made into Chinese territory, even reaching the Tang's capital Chang'an (modern Xi'an) in late 763. However, the Tibetan occupation of Chang'an only lasted for fifteen days, after which they were defeated by Tang and its ally, the Turkic Uyghur Khaganate... Tibet continued as a Central Asian empire until the mid-9th century...
Between 1346 and 1354, Tai Situ Changchub Gyaltsen toppled the Sakya and founded the Phagmodrupa dynasty. The following 80 years saw the founding of the Gelug school (also known as Yellow Hats) by the disciples of Je Tsongkhapa, and the founding of the important Ganden, Drepung, and Sera monasteries near Lhasa.
In 1578, Altan Khan of the Tümed Mongols gave Sonam Gyatso, a high lama of the Gelugpa school, the name Dalai Lama; Dalai being the Mongolian translation of the Tibetan name Gyatso, or "Ocean".
The first Europeans to arrive in Tibet were the Portuguese missionaries António de Andrade and Manuel Marques in 1624. They were welcomed by the King and Queen of Guge, and were allowed to build a church and to introduce Christian belief. The king of Guge eagerly accepted Christianity as an offsetting religious influence to dilute the thriving Gelugpa and to counterbalance his potential rivals and consolidate his position. All missionaries were expelled in 1745...
Emerging with control over most of mainland China after the Chinese Civil War, the People's Republic of China incorporated Tibet in 1950 and negotiated the Seventeen Point Agreement with the newly crowned 14th Dalai Lama's government, affirming the People's Republic of China's sovereignty but granting the area autonomy. After the Dalai Lama government fled to Dharamsala, India during the 1959 Tibetan Rebellion, it established a rival government-in-exile. Afterwards, the Central People's Government in Beijing renounced the agreement and began implementation of the halted social and political reforms.
During the Great Leap Forward between 200 thousand and 1 million Tibetans died, and approximately 6,000 monasteries were destroyed around the Cultural Revolution. In 1980, General Secretary and reformist Hu Yaobang visited Tibet, and ushered in a period of social, political, and economic liberalization. At the end of the decade, however analogously to the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, monks in the Drepung and Sera monasteries started protesting for independence, and so the government halted reforms and started an anti-separatist campaign. Human rights organisations have been critical of the Beijing and Lhasa governments' approach to human rights in the region when cracking down on separatist convulsions that have occurred around monasteries and cities, most recently in the 2008 Tibetan unrest.
