High River is a town within the Calgary Region of Alberta, Canada with a population of 12,920 (2011). It is 37 kilometres (23 mi) south of the City of Calgary, at the junction of Alberta Highways 2 and 23. High River is located approximately 54 km (34 mi) south of downtown Calgary.
The community takes its name from the Highwood River, which flows through the town. The area was originally inhabited largely by the Blackfoot First Nation, who called the site Ispitzee (or the “place of high trees along running water”). By 1870, after the arrival of the North West Mounted Police and after Treaty Number 7 had been signed in 1877, settlers began arriving into the region. High River's development centered on a convenient location for people, horses and cattle to cross the Highwood River - a location known as "The Crossing".
Development of the town was supported by the completion of the Calgary and Edmonton Railway in 1892. High River incorporated as a village on December 5, 1901, and was incorporated as a town on February 12, 1906.

https://www.expedia.com/Northern-Rivers.d6047794.Destination-Travel-Guides The Northern Rivers region sits at the easternmost point of Australia. The heart of the region is Mt Warning, created 23 million years ago when the Tweed Volcano erupted and reshaped the land. It was an event which blessed the entire region with incredibly fertile soils, deep forests, and a unique geology, which many believe gives the region its special energy. The Northern Rivers begins at Tweed Heads and unrolls southwards for over one hundred miles, taking in some of the purest beaches and most laid-back coastal towns in the world. Travel video about the Mittel Rhein Boat Tour in Germany. Our journey begins in Koblenz. In around 1000 A.D. a castle was built on a knoll on the east bank of the Rhine and Castle Ehrenbreitstein gradually developed. Europe’s second largest fortress was given its appearance as we see it today, between 1817 and 1828. From the Middle Ages to the late eighteenth century, Koblenz was the residence of the powerful archbishops of Trier and in 1794 it was taken over by France and in 1815, by Prussia. Following the Rhine, our journey leads to Boppard where town houses, stately homes and churches form the romantic old town. After the invasion of the Alemanni, a city wall was built in order to protect what was a toll castle and today the town has developed into an attractive tourist destination s...
Travel video about nature park Yosemite Park in the USA. Majestic, thousand metre high rock walls flank a magnificent valley, the heart of the world famous Yosemite National Park located in California’s Sierra Nevada. The first thing that strikes most visitors to the park is its spectacular waterfalls which. are the highest on the entire North American Continent and plunge down more than seven hundred metres. At Yosemite Falls the water from Yosemite Creek falls from the elevated regions of the Sierra Nevada down into the valley below. For several centuries, long before any white settlers reached the valleys of today’s park, the area that surrounded the Merced River was the sole domain of the Native American Indian. For almost four thousand years this was the hunting ground of the Awanitshi...

When you think India, if you think spicy food, snake charmers, dodging cows, the Taj Mahal, and total chaos- you’re thinking about Northern India. It's an adventure waiting to happen, and will leave you wondering why it only accounts for 1% of world tourism. Join Ricky Moreno as he explores Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Rishikesh, and Varanasi. Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party. Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it...

Uruguay is emerging as one of South America’s favorite destinations. Its capital Montevideo has a warm, temperate climate, pleasant sea breezes and miles of boulevards. From Montevideo’s Telecommunications Tower you can see the hill that gave the city its name. Another tower, the Palacio Salvo looms high above the Plaza Independencia in the City Center. Under this square is the mausoleum for the country’s revolutionary hero José Artigas. Nearby Plaza Matriz is the city’s oldest square and home to the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral, the focal point of Uruguay’s Old Town. Soccer is big here and in 1930 Uruguay hosted and won the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Estadio Centenario. Another proud local tradition is “parrilla" and the best way to try it is to buy cuts of meat in the M...
