Plot: The year is 2071. Following a terrorist bombing, a deadly virus is released on the populace of Mars and the government has issued a 300 million woo-long reward, the largest bounty in history, for the capture of whoever is behind it. The bounty hunter crew of the spaceship Bebop; Spike, Faye, Jet and Ed, take the case with hopes of cashing in the bounty. However, the mystery surrounding the man responsible, Vincent, goes deeper than they ever imagined, and they aren't the only ones hunting him. The original creators of the virus have dispatched Electra to deal with Vincent and take out anyone who may stumble on the truth behind him. As the hunt for the man with no past and no future continues to escalate, they begin to question what about the world is reality and what is a dream as the line between sanity and insanity becomes more apparent.

Taglines: Are you living in the real world? They're here to save the planet. But not for free.
Quotes:
Old Woman: He called you a cowboy. What did he mean? What are you?::Spike: Just a humble bounty hunter, ma'am.
Ed: Food, glorious food!
Spike: He was just all alone. He couldn't enjoy a game with anyone else. Like living in a dream... That's the kind of man he was...
Jet: Spike, if that hostage had been shot, what would you have done then?::Spike: If it happens, it happens...::Jet: Really... As usual, for a 125,000-Woolong criminal, there were too many risks involved. Bounty hunting is harder than just that. Before I teamed up with you, I lead quite a normal life.
Vincent: Why don't you shoot?::Spike: What?::Vincent: What's wrong? Lose your nerve? You started out so fearlessly. Go on. Pull the trigger.::Spike: I don't think so. I blow the bounty if I blow you away.::Vincent: I have no fear of death. It just means dreaming in silence. A dream that lasts for eternity.::Spike: [sarcastically] You're an original, aren't you?
Vincent: What's your name?::Spike: Spike... Spiegel...::Vincent: I'll meet you at the end of this world.
Faye: Why did you do all this? For money? Some sort of revenge? Or perhaps just for fun?::Vincent: I am just looking for a door to open.::Faye: A door?::Vincent: I was dreaming, and I knew it was a dream. And yet, I couldn't open my eyes. You know what I mean? From that time, when I was on Titan, it's been like that, always.
Vincent: No one can draw a clear line between sane and insane. You move that line as you see fit for yourself. No one else can. You'll understand soon... that the one that's insane is this world. Do you want to come with me? The only ones left will be you and me.
Faye: Damn it! Morons don't learn until they die!
Worker: Who are you?::Faye: Can't you tell? I'm just a gun-toting weathergirl.::[fires rounds of her machine gun into the air]::Worker: What do you want?::Faye: I want you to make it rain.::Worker: Why?::Faye: Why? To crash a party.

Plot: The true story of Dr. Miklos Nyiszli, a Hungarian Jew chosen by Josef Mengele to be the head pathologist at Auschwitz. Nyiszli was one of Auschwitz's Sonderkommandos - Special Squads of Jewish prisoners placed by the Nazis in the excruciating moral dilemma of helping to exterminate fellow Jews in exchange for a few more months of life. Together, the Sonderkommandos struggled to organize the only armed revolt that would ever take place at Auschwitz. As the rebellion is about to commence, a group from the unit discovers a 14-year-old girl who has miraculously survived a gassing. A catalyst for their desperate attempt at personal redemption, the men become obsessed with saving this one child, even if doing so endangers the uprising which could save thousands. To what terrible lengths are we willing to go to save our own lives, and what in turn would we sacrifice to save the lives of others?

Quotes:
SS-Oberscharfuhrer Eric Muhsfeldt: I never fully despised the Jews until I experienced how easily they could be persuaded to do the work here. To do it so well. And to their own people! They'll be dead by week's end, every soul. And we'll replace them with others no different. Do you know how easy that will be?
Hoffman: I used to think so much of myself... What I'd make of my life. We can't know what we're capable of, any of us. How can you know what you'd do to stay alive, until you're really asked? I know this now. For most of us, the answer... is anything. It's so easy to forget who we were before... who we'll never be again. There was this old man, he pushed the carts, and on our first day, when we had to burn our own convey, his wife was brought up on the elevator. Then his daughter... and then both his grandchildren. I knew him. We were neighbors. And in 20 minutes, his whole family, and all its future, was gone from this earth. Two weeks later, he took pills and was revived. We smothered him with his own pillow, and now I know why. You can kill yourself. That's the only choice. I want them to save you. I want them to save you more than I want anything. I pray to God we save you.
Girl: After the revolt, half the ovens remain, and we are carried to them together. I catch fire, quickly. The first part of me rises, in dense smoke, that mingles with the smoke of others. Then there are the bones, which settle in ash, and these are swept up to be carried to the river. And last, bits of our dust, that simply float there, in air, around the working of the new group... These bits of dust are grey. We settle on their shoes, and on their faces, and in their lungs. And they become so used to us, that soon they don't cough, and they don't brush us away. At this point, they are just moving, breathing and moving, like anyone else, still alive in that place. And this is how the work... continues.
SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: This isn't our war.::Doctor Miklos Nyiszli: Not mine.::SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: Nor mine. I can assure you. But, to allow this all to go to waste.::Doctor Miklos Nyiszli: I understand your position.::SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: Clearly you do more than that.::Doctor Miklos Nyiszli: As you wish.::SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: Meaning?::Doctor Miklos Nyiszli: There is no meaning.::SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: We're going to be increasing the volume of our research.::Doctor Miklos Nyiszli: I shall need more staff.::SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele: Then you shall have more staff.
Gestapo Interrogator, SS-Untersturmfuhrer: [executing prisoners] I could say that I don't want to be doing this, but that wouldn't be true.
Hoffman: [outside the gas chamber] You're all fine! The quicker you get undressed, the quicker you'll be clean, settled and reunited with your families.::Morris, Man with Watch: Filthy liar.::Hoffman: Remember the number of the hook you hang your clothes on!::Morris, Man with Watch: He's a liar! I can't believe it's Jews doing this!

Ken Harrison: I better be nice to this woman. Otherwise, the good doctor will dissolve her in water and inject her into me.

Dr. Michael Emerson: You'll be fine.::Ken Harrison: [sarcastically] Are you kidding?
Ken Harrison: [about the nurse who accidentally let him fall out of the bed] It wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault. It was an accident!

[waving a gun at Butch]::The Sundance Kid: Now let me tell you something. I could drop you right here. so don't be telling me how stupid I am. I'm as smart as you are. Now, you got that?::Butch Cassidy: Now with that in your hand, you're a damn genius!
The Sundance Kid: You know, I've been thinking...::Butch Cassidy: That could be dangerous!
Mike Cassidy: It's the greatest country in the world. Guilty as hell - free as a bird!
The Sundance Kid: I didn't want to kill him! I just wanted to put a bullet... just wanted to put a hole in him.
The Sundance Kid: What was this guy like?::Butch Cassidy: Who?::The Sundance Kid: Hanks.::Butch Cassidy: Okay, really.::The Sundance Kid: Thanks a lot.::Butch Cassidy: What for?::The Sundance Kid: Oh, I wanted you to tell me he was a lousy bastard that didn't deserve to live. Did he have any family?::Butch Cassidy: Just the five kids.::The Sundance Kid: Did he?::Butch Cassidy: No! And will you quit torturing yourself! He didn't have any kids. He didn't even hava a wife... just some old hag he lived with. Sundance, when you go get yourself in gunfights, you cna't just pick orphans to do it with.
Butch Cassidy: Listen, what do I call... what is your name anyway?::The Sundance Kid: Longabaugh. Harry Longabaugh.::Butch Cassidy: That's not an outlaw name. You don't have an outlaw face, either. You better do something about that.::The Sundance Kid: Yeah, like what?::Butch Cassidy: I don't know. Get yourself a nice scar or grow a mustache.::The Sundance Kid: I am growing a mustache!::Butch Cassidy: Where?
Butch Cassidy: Come on, are we going to rob something or not?
Butch Cassidy: But don't you know who I am?::Old Robber: No, I'm sorry, sir, I don't.::Butch Cassidy: Well, I'm a fairly well-known outlaw.::Old Robber: Oh?::Butch Cassidy: Maybe not so much around these parts, but, ah, Utah... Wyoming.::Old Robber: I believe I have heard of you! Mr... ah...::Butch Cassidy: Cassidy.::Old Robber: Cassidy! That's right! Dutch Cassidy!
Sheriff Ray Bledsoe: You're out of prison for one week and you come back to Brown's Hole. Get the hell out of here! Get a job or something. And stay out of trouble!::Butch Cassidy: I don't want a job, Ray. That kind of life doesn't suit me.::Sheriff Ray Bledsoe: Damn it, what about your promise to the Governor.::Butch Cassidy: That was Wyoming.::Sheriff Ray Bledsoe: Oh, and this is Utah! Is that it?
Butch Cassidy: Okay, Ray, same deal. I'll stay out of your jurisdiction.::Sheriff Ray Bledsoe: How many places can you promise to stay out of?::Butch Cassidy: It's a big country.

Quotes:
Professor Horatio Smith: [having just dodged the Nazis again] Well, I'm almost ashamed to use that old trick, but it nearly always works.
General von Graum: But we have one problem. "To be or not to be?" as our great German poet said.::Professor Horatio Smith: German? But that's Shakespeare.::Professor Horatio Smith: But you don't know?::Professor Horatio Smith: Why, I know it's Shakespeare. I thought Shakespeare was English.::General von Graum: No, no, no. Shakespeare is a German. Professor Schuessbacher has proved it once and for all.::Professor Horatio Smith: Dear, how very upsetting. Still, you must admit that the English translations are most remarkable.::General von Graum: Good night.::Professor Horatio Smith: Good night. Good night. "Parting is such sweet sorrow."::General von Graum: What is that?::Professor Horatio Smith: That's one of the most famous lines in German literature.
Professor Horatio Smith: I'm so glad to find you're not busy, because I've been doing a little research work...::General von Graum: That's just what I wanted to do.::Professor Horatio Smith: ...On the identity of Shakespeare.::General von Graum: I'd like to know how you spent this afternoon.::Professor Horatio Smith: What's the matter with you? You seem upset. I spent the afternoon in the library at the embassy. Now this, this proves conclusively that Shakespeare wasn't really Shakespeare at all.::General von Graum: No?::Professor Horatio Smith: No. He was the Earl of Oxford. Now you can't pretend that the Earl of Oxford was a German, can you?::Professor Horatio Smith: [Speaking to Steinhof] Now, can you?::Steinhof: No! No!::Professor Horatio Smith: Well, there you are.::Steinhof: Herr General, how much longer am I to stand here? Have you anything to say to me?::General von Graum: Please, we have a visitor. I think you have met Professor Smith.::Steinhof: No. Good day. Goodbye.::General von Graum: But you HAVE met Herr Boldenschatz.::Steinhof: Boldenschatz! Do you know Boldenschatz?::Professor Horatio Smith: No. Should I?::Steinhof: Bah! Anyway, I didn't come here to discuss Shakespeare. If you want me, you know where I am.::Professor Horatio Smith: The Earl of Oxford was a very bright Elizabethan light, but this book will tell you he was a good deal more than that.
Professor Horatio Smith: A dead man. Would you like to see him? There we are. Buried with all his weapons, you see, presumably, in the belief that there might be a rearmament program in the hereafter, eh, Mr. Spencer? An ancient Teuton. "Alas poor Yorick, get thee to my lady's chamber, my dear general. Tell her that, though she paint an inch thick, to this favour must she come; make her laugh at that." The Earl of Oxford wrote that, you know.
[Smith now caught by the gestapo]::Professor Horatio Smith: This must be a big moment for you.::General von Graum: A minor satisfaction. I wanted to get you out of my system before I turn my mind to more important matters. You've become a great nuisance to me, professor - almost an obsession - but everything comes to an end.::Professor Horatio Smith: What particular end did you plan for me?::General von Graum: Need we go into details? At least it will be quick.::Professor Horatio Smith: But violent, I suppose - a strange end for one who despises violence - at the hands of those who worship it. The new German God...::General von Graum: Of course we worship it. Violence means power, and power crushes opposition. The epoch of the council chamber is over, Herr Professor. I tell you that power and strength and violence will rule the world!::Professor Horatio Smith: Why are you sweating, my dear general? It isn't very warm. Are you afraid of something?::General von Graum: Afraid? We Germans fear nothing::Professor Horatio Smith: Ah. Because you have a pistol?::General von Graum: Yes, I have a pistol. It has eight bullets. Eight lives.::Professor Horatio Smith: And I have twenty-eight lives.::General von Graum: Huh?::Professor Horatio Smith: Scientists, men of letters, artists, doctors... Twenty-eight saved from your pagan pistol, and all you've got is my humble self. Not a very profitable transaction.::General von Graum: Mm. We can afford to make a loss, our profits will be tremendous. Tonight we march against Poland, and tomorrow we'll see the dawn of a new order. We shall make a German empire of the world. Why do I talk to you? You are a dead man.::Professor Horatio Smith: May a dead man say a few words to you, General, for your enlightenment? You will never rule the world... because you are doomed. All of you who have demoralized and corrupted a nation are doomed. Tonight you will take the first step along a dark road from which there is no turning back. You will have to go on and on, from one madness to another, leaving behind you a wilderness of misery and hatred. And still, you will have to go on... because you will find no horizon... and see no dawn... until at last you are lost and destroyed. You are doomed, Captain of Murderers, and one day, sooner or later, you will remember my words.::[Train whistles]
[Professor Horatio Smith disappears behind a cloud of smoke]::Professor Horatio Smith: Don't worry, I shall be back.::[the General fires through the smoke]::Professor Horatio Smith: [sounding unharmed] We shall *all* be back.
Graubitz: Gentlemen, please. Gentlemen. The Minister of Propaganda instructs me to inform all foreign correspondents that rumors of a mysterious personage helping enemies of the state to escape from Germany are without foundation. We can assure you there have been no such escapes and there is no such rescuer. Furthermore, in Nazi Germany no one can hope to be saved by anybody.
Jordan: You're late.::Professor Horatio Smith: Late for what?::Jordan: Your lecture, sir.::Professor Horatio Smith: Oh, don't be ridiculous. My lecture isn't till Friday.::Jordan: But today IS Friday, sir.::Professor Horatio Smith: Good heavens. How extraordinary. W-w-what happened to Thursday?::Jordan: We had it yesterday, sir.::Professor Horatio Smith: Did we?
David Maxwell: Archeologists are always a thousand years behind the times.
Professor Horatio Smith: No, I hate violence. It seems such a paradox to kill a man before you can persuade him what's right. So uncivilized.
