Norin & Rad

Norin & Rad is an American electronic music duo of producers and DJs from California named Bruce Karlsson (Norin) and Nick Sember (Rad). Their name is derived from the original name of the comic book character, Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd. Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember both had strong interests in music at very young ages. Nick began to mix hip-hop in high school, but the true creativity came when he was given his first trance record.

They have a podcast, The Remedy, which can be found on iTunes, Mixcloud, as well as their website. Norin & Rad performed for Above & Beyond's radio show Trance Around the World 450.

History

Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember have performed at the biggest festivals around the world such as EDC in Las Vegas, Electric Zoo in New York and Tomorrowland in Belgium, and released tracks like “Bloom”, and “Pistol Whip”.

When Bruce and Nick met in 2007 they found a mutual interest in Electronic Dance Music and how it was made, and Norin & Rad was created. Bruce started learning music production programs shortly after graduating high school. He created his own techniques along the way that have helped identify Norin & Rad’s sound. Nick’s musical interest began when he learned how to play guitar among other instruments from his father. He bought his first set of vinyl turntables in high school where he started mixing hip hop, but progressed to dance music when he met Bruce.

Ost & Meyer

Ost & Meyer is an Electronic music duo of producer/DJs Nikita Bogdanov and Vadym Porotkov from Kiev, Ukraine. Released on such labels as Anjunabeats, Black Hole Recordings and Enhanced Music Ost & Meyer are regular guests of ASOT, ABGT and other most-listened-to world radio shows.

Biography

Nikita (Ost) & Vadym (Meyer) met in 2009. At that time Nikita was an experienced keyboardist with professional music education playing funk in a band and Vadym was a DJ. Both were very passionate about music and inspired by ATB, Above & Beyond, Daft Punk, Daniel Kandi, Kyau & Albert, Maor Levi, Super8 & Tab started to produce Trance & Progressive music under the alias Ost & Meyer. Shortly after a few remixes were released on such labels as Infrasonic, Redux, Mondo and HBR.

In 2011 Ost & Meyer signed contracts with Enhanced Recordings & Anjunabeats and that was a real breakthrough in their music career. New singles and remixes got excellent reviews and supports from Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Kyau & Albert, Markus Schulz and many more. Ost & Meyer guest mixes are welcome by Anjunabeats Worldwide, Trance Around The World (ABGT) and other popular radioshows.

Daniel Kandi

Daniel Kandi (born November 29, 1983) is a Danish trance producer and DJ currently living in Aalborg. Kandi entered the trance scene with the release of "Breathe" in 2006, on the successful Anjunabeats label. In 2010, he was ranked #77 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ Poll.

Biography

Musical career

Daniel Kandi began producing trance music in 2000 under the name DJ Mendoza. He was a member of the Danish music community then known as MyMusic (now known as BandBase), where he published his music. In 2003, he formed the duo Duval and Mundo with another member of the community, Anders Duvald Mikkelsen (also known as Stalker). They released their first single as Aurelius, titled "Sorrow", with Jamie P. and vocals by David Hughes, in September 2005 on the Dutch label Intrenze.

From 2004 to 2007, Daniel Kandi worked with A&R and executive producer Fritz Niko in two projects called Weekend Wonderz and Hit'n'Run, remixing for both Danish and international artists like Infernal, Inez, TV-2, Bent Fabric, Christine Milton and Terri Walker. They have been nominated three times at the Danish DeeJay Awards in the category "Danish Remix of the Year"; in 2006 for their remix of "Stronger" by singer Inez and their remix of "Alt det" by rapper Mortito, and in 2007 for their remix of "Ten Miles" by the dance act Infernal.

Remix

A remix is a piece of media which has been altered from its original state by adding, removing, and/or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new.

Most commonly, remixes are associated with music and songs. Songs are remixed for a variety of reasons:

Nitrous oxide

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous, nitro, or NOS is a chemical compound with the formula N
2O. It is an oxide of nitrogen. At room temperature, it is a colourless, non-flammable gas, with a slightly sweet odour and taste. It is used in surgery and dentistry for its anaesthetic and analgesic effects. It is known as "laughing gas" due to the euphoric effects of inhaling it, a property that has led to its recreational use as a dissociative anaesthetic. It is also used as an oxidizer in rockets and in motor racing to increase the power output of engines. At elevated temperatures, nitrous oxide is a powerful oxidizer similar to molecular oxygen.

Nitrous oxide gives rise to nitric oxide (NO) on reaction with oxygen atoms, and this NO in turn reacts with ozone. As a result, it is the main naturally occurring regulator of stratospheric ozone. It is also a major greenhouse gas and air pollutant. Considered over a 100-year period, it is calculated to have between 265 and 310 times more impact per unit mass (global-warming potential) than carbon dioxide.
