A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.
Lupin or lupini beans are the yellow legume seeds of Lupinus genus. They are a traditional food in the Mediterranean basin (L. albus) and Latin America (L. mutabilis). They are traditionally eaten as a pickled snack food, primarily in the Mediterranean and South America. The bitter variety of the beans are high in alkaloids and are extremely bitter unless rinsed for a long time.
The earliest archaeological reports on lupins are referred to the Twelfth Dynasty of Egyptian Pharaohs (over 2 thousand years BCE). In their tombs, seeds of Lupinus digitatus Forsk., already domesticated in those times, were discovered. Seven seeds of this species were also retrieved in the tombs of this dynasty dated back to the 22nd century BCE. They are the most ancient evidence of lupin in the Mediterranean.
Lupini were popular with the Romans, who spread their cultivation throughout the Roman Empire. Today, lupini are most commonly found in Mediterranean countries and their former colonies, especially in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Brazil, as across the Middle East (where it is part of Sham El Nessim holiday meals).
Francisco Lupini Basagoiti (born 5 September 1989, in Caracas, Venezuela) was named the best Latino director on the East Coast by the Director's of America for his directing in the short film El Nido Vacío (The Empty Nest) in 2012. Now a New York-based filmmaker, Francisco was born in Caracas, Venezuela to Spanish and Italian parents. Over the past 5 years Francisco's films have earned him over 60 Official Festival Selections around the world. He has received multiple Audience Awards at festivals including Chicago Latino Film Festival and the Palm Springs International Shortfest. He was awarded the Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the Lady Filmmaker Film Festival and a special mention for Best Drama at the Trieste Festival of Latin American Cinema in Italy.
His work often features strong female protagonists and focuses on themes about family drama, human obsessions and the pursuit of truth through an Italian sensibility and Spanish flair inspired by the Latin American experience. Francisco received his BFA in Film and TV Production as well as Dramatic Literature from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He's currently in pre-production of his first feature film titled ¡He matado a mi marido! (I killed my husband!) which was an official selection at the Global Script Challenge in the Oaxaca FilmFest.

In Spanish, people with the name Francisco sometimes are nicknamed "Paco": San Francisco de Asís was known as Pater Comunitatis (The Community father) when he founded the Franciscan order, "Paco" is a short form of "Pater Comunitatis". Also, in Spanish Latin America and in the Philippines, people with the name Francisco are called "Pancho". "Kiko" is also used as a nickname in the Philippines.
In Portuguese, people named Francisco are commonly nicknamed "Chico" (shíco) or "Kiko". This is also a less-common nickname for Francisco in Spanish too.
