A man called 'Kid' wanders through the desert exhausted, he carries a suitcase. His arm is bleeding from a gunshot. Finally passing out from the heat and blood loss, he lays prone until Charles Dump, a loner living in the shell of an abandoned mining camp, finds him passed out in the middle of nowhere. Dump checks the man's luggage and finds it filled with millions of dollars. Taking the man and the money back to his camp, Charles thinks he might have finally hit it rich. 'Kid', finally wakes-up and warns Charles that Sunshine, the money's owner, will come looking for it. Sure enough, Sunshine comes down on them, hot on the trail of his cash. A game of cat and mouse begins with everyone working for their own purposes. The time for splitting shares long past, only one man can walk away with the suitcase.

NIFF in Neuchatel 2013.
Zum Film:
Roland Klick ist Legende, so ziemlich die einzige der letzten 40 deutschen Kino-Jahre. Mit Mario Adorf drehte er den psychedelischen Western DEADLOCK, mit Dennis Hopper den todessüchtigen Punkabgesang WHITE STAR. Klick machte großes, aufwühlendes Publikums-Kino - doch nach nur sechs Spielfilmen hatte sich das große Talent des deutschen Films auf mysteriöse Weise ins Aus manövriert.
Selbst vier Bundesfilmpreise konnten ihn nicht vor Kritikern und Kollegen des „Neuen Deutschen Film" schützen, die ihn als zu kommerziell anfeindeten. Klick verbündete sich mit dem aufstrebenden Produzenten Bernd Eichinger, WIR KINDER VOM BAHNHOF ZOO sollte ihr großer Wurf werden. Doch es kam alles anders.
Roland Klick wurde zum Außenseiter gemacht. Aber er war auch ein kompromissloser Filmjunkie, der mit jedem Film alles riskierte und sich immer am Abgrund bewegte. Bis er ihm einmal zu nahe kam.
In Sandra Prechtels Film zeigt sich Klick in seiner ganzen umwerfenden Geradlinigkeit. Otto Sander erinnert sich an seinen ersten Leinwandauftritt in LUDWIG. Eva Mattes lässt eine ihrer schönsten Rollen Revue passieren und erzählt vom Dreh von SUPERMARKT. Hark Bohm gedenkt seines Bruders Marquard, der durch DEADLOCK zum Star wurde. Und Horrorfilm-Ikone David Hess, der in WHITE STAR an Hoppers Seite wütete, deutet Klicks Drama aus amerikanischer Sicht: He was a dreamer inside a Deutscher - it's not an easy thing to be.

Einer der schönsten Momente der diesjährigen Berlinale liegt gut eine Woche zurück. „Roland Klick -- The Heart is a Hungry Hunter" von der Berliner Regisseurin Sandra Prechtel feierte Premiere im ausverkauften Cinestar-Saal. Der Film porträtiert den 1939 geborenen Regisseur Roland Klick, der mit „Supermarkt", „Deadlock" und „Bübchen" die brachialeren Reize des Genrekinos mit einer an Antonioni geschulten Sensibilität versöhnte. Dafür nahm er in Kauf, ein Außenseiter im deutschen Filmbetrieb zu sein. (taz, Cristina Nord)

Marquard
Marquard is a small farming town in the Free State province of South Africa that serves Winburg in the northwest. The town was set up in 1905 by an influential Dutch Reform minister, JJ Marquard, with the help of Christoffel Cornelis Froneman, the commandant of the Orange Free State. It was established on the farm Varschfontein and attained municipal status in the same year.
Marquard is 169 kilometers east north-east of Bloemfontein and 45 kilometers south-west of Senekal. It was established in 1905 on the farm Varschfontein and attained municipal status in the same year. The town was named after J J T Marquard, minister of the Dutch Reformed Church in Winburg, who had pleaded for the establishment of the town.

Marquard Bohm
Marquard Bohm (27 June 1941 – 3 February 2006) was a German actor. He appeared in more than 100 films and television shows between 1965 and 2000. He starred in the 1982 film Eine deutsche Revolution, which was entered into the 32nd Berlin International Film Festival. His older brother was the actor and director Hark Bohm.

Finally passing out from the heat and blood loss, he lays prone until Charles Dump, a loner living in the shell of an abandoned mining camp, finds him passed out in the middle of nowhere. Dump checks the man's luggage and finds it filled with millions of dollars. Taking the man and the money back to his camp, Charles thinks he might have finally hit it rich. 'Kid', finally wakes-up and warns Charles that Sunshine, the money's owner, will come looking for it. Sure enough, Sunshine comes down on them, hot on the trail of his cash. A game of cat and mouse begins with everyone working for their own purposes. The time for splitting shares long past, only one man can walk away with the suitcase.

Selbst vier Bundesfilmpreise konnten ihn nicht vor Kritikern und Kollegen des „Neuen Deutschen Film" schützen, die ihn als zu kommerziell anfeindeten. Klick verbündete sich mit dem aufstrebenden Produzenten Bernd Eichinger, WIR KINDER VOM BAHNHOF ZOO sollte ihr großer Wurf werden. Doch es kam alles anders.
Roland Klick wurde zum Außenseiter gemacht. Aber er war auch ein kompromissloser Filmjunkie, der mit jedem Film alles riskierte und sich immer am Abgrund bewegte. Bis er ihm einmal zu nahe kam.
In Sandra Prechtels Film zeigt sich Klick in seiner ganzen umwerfenden Geradlinigkeit. Otto Sander erinnert sich an seinen ersten Leinwandauftritt in LUDWIG. Eva Mattes lässt eine ihrer schönsten Rollen Revue passieren und erzählt vom Dreh von SUPERMARKT. Hark Bohm gedenkt seines Bruders Marquard, der durch DEADLOCK zum Star wurde. Und Horrorfilm-Ikone David Hess, der in WHITE STAR an Hoppers Seite wütete, deutet Klicks Drama aus amerikanischer Sicht: He was a dreamer inside a Deutscher - it's not an easy thing to be.

Saqqara was the burial mound of Memphis. There are monuments from at least 3000 years on this 7 kilometer long limestone plateau, from the earliest graves to the monastery of the Copt Christians. These buildings, which were covered by sand, were excavated by Auguste Mariette, but there are new findings even today.
Imhotep surrounded the Djoser Pyramid with a 10 meter wall with false doors. There were bastions and tabernacles while within the wall were shrines, halls and chapels. The wall was ornamented by a cobras head. The corridor leading to the yard is bordered by 40 pillars, imitating palm trees. The largest and well know monument of Saqqara is the pyramid of the Pharaoh Djoser. This is the first such structure to be called pyramid, before that, people bury their dead in mastabas. The design of the pyramid is associated with Imhotep, who was not only the greatest Architect of the 3rd dynasty, but also a high priest and a General of the Pharaoh. It was probably his idea to put 6 smaller and smaller square mastabas on top of each other, which led to the shape of the pyramid. His works set an example for Royal Architects for several centuries. Later the stairs of the pyramid were filles up and its size was covered to achieve a perfect pyramid shape.
In a northeastern corner of the area, an extremely deep cistern was discovered. From the bastion above it, the burial ground of the Saint -- bowls, the Serapium, can be seen perfectly, as well as the distant Pyramids of Giza.
It's widely known that all European power, the Germans, the Italians, but mostly the French and the British were present at the rediscovery of Egypt.
Those who are interested in Egyptology might know the names of Denon, Shante Leon, Lazoni, Mariette, Broch, Lepzius, Gaston Maspereau, and of course Howard Carter. Let's not forget the Italian, Girolamo Zagato, who found the entrance of the pyramid in 1820 while drawing a map.
The oldest graffiti in the world originates from the 12th century B.C. It can be found on the wall of one of the side buildings under the protection of a glass case. If one were to do something like this today, it is possible that the author would visit the local jail sooner than his graffiti would be protected by a glass case, the guards are there to prevent any kind of disruption.
The serdab is the close statue chamber of tomb chapels or mastabas from where the Pharaohs statue looks out to the outside world, this is how his soul preserved his relationship with the living. There is the original entrance on the southern side of the pyramid while on the northern one, there is new one, cut by Archaeologists. The burial chambers found beneath the pyramid around the middle of the building. The maze of corridors and chambers is almost 5 kilometers long and is probably connected to the cistern. There are lots of corridors which have not been fully discovered.
The Pyramid of Teti looks like a piece of rubble on the outside but is very interesting on the inside. There aren't too many pyramids which are open to the public. The walls are covered with texts and the ceiling depicts the night sky. The greatest mastaba is the one of Mereruka and his wife, the son in law, and daughter of Teti. One can even see Meruruka himself in the complicated mastaba, which has more than 30 rooms, as his life size statue steps out of a door. There were several claims which stated that grave robbers instantly fled as they saw the statue in the dim light. Almost square meter of the walls is covered by engraving, pictures or hieroglyphs, which introduce viewers to life in ancient times, hunting, fishing, agriculture and animal husbandry. In other pictures, one can see the scenes of raising a child, celebrations, and potters at work.
