John Irving is the author of twelve books, including “The World According to Garp,” “A Prayer For Owen Meany,” and most recently, “Last Night on Twisted River.” Over his career he has won a National Book Award, an Academy Award for his adaptation of “The Cider House Rules,” and many other honors, and has been translated into over thirty languages. A former competitive wrestler, he splits his time between Vermont and Montreal.

Question: Did you know from an early age that you would be a writer?
John Irving: I supposed I had a number of what I might call pre-writing moments as a kid. I recognized at a pretty early age, certainly I was pre-teens, I noticed that the school day was enough of a day to spend with my friends. I seemed to have a need to want to be alone. Even before I started making almost landscape notes in a journal, even before I started keeping a journal, which happened to me when I was fourteen, even before then I had a need to come home from school by myself and to be in a room by myself or in my grandmother's garden by myself. I guess the earliest sign was how much I liked being alone, how much I actually needed to be alone, the way you need, or I need, exercise or food or a certain amount of sleep. There was that desire to be, and a comfort, at being alone.

What would some of the greatest writers of our time advise their younger peers? Find out here where Jonathan Franzen, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, Richard Ford, Umberto Eco and seven others share their thoughts on how to make it as a writer.
“Have fun … if you’re having fun there’s a good chance that the reader will too,” is American Jonathan Franzen’s (b. 1959) most important piece of advice.
Swedish playwright Lars Norén (b. 1944) argues that writing isn’t about desire, but about necessity: “… the disappointments and the efforts are so tough that you must have an inner conviction that this is what you want.”
“Write, write, write and write again, and you will get it right.” Such is the key piece of advice from Kenyan writer Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o (b. 1938).
American Lydia Davis (b.1947) emphasizes how important it is accept that writing can be chaotic and to put effort into making the text flow: “You learn from models, you study them, you analyse them very closely … You pick it apart.”
Remember what excited you when you were at your most impressionable, says Icelandic Sjón (b. 1962), who also urges young writers not to be embarrassed by what initially inspired you: “All of us come to culture through trash.”
”Build a good name,” is American rock poet Patti Smith’s (b. 1946) powerful advice, which she herself was given by legendary writer and poet William S. Burroughs: ”If you build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency.”
Italian Umberto Eco (b. 1932) advises aspiring writers not to take themselves too seriously, and to remember that: “You’re 10 per cent inspiration and 90 per cent perspiration.”
“If you’re not talented, you shouldn’t write.” Egyptian novelist Alaa al-Aswany (b. 1957) puts it as simply as that. However, if you do have talent, you can only make a difference if writing is truly the most important thing in your life.
Norwegian Herbjørg Wassmo (b. 1942) is unambiguous in her advice to aspiring writers when she states that it quite simply takes hard work and persistence to achieve your goals: “Write, write, write!”
Becoming a writer isn’t something you should aspire to be, according to American Richard Ford (b. 1944). Making it as a writer is “a long shot,” but if you can’t talk yourself out of it, then maybe it really is your vocation.
Norwegian Kjell Askildsen (b. 1929) turns things around and argues that one simply shouldn’t take advice from anyone but rather listen to the books you love.

Hello everyone (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡ here's my super-dooper early, productive writing routine and morning routine!
I should mention that I don't get up at 5AM * every * day, but pretty much every day of the week i get up super early and write before heading off to work. So, this is a pretty average morning for me--I work a 9 to 5, so getting up at ridiculous o'clock is unfortuantely necessary. Sometimes I just sleep in 'til 7AM. Self care is important.
Also, often I skip makeup entirely so i can have more writing time hahah.

A writer is a person who uses written words in various styles and techniques to communicate ideas. Writer (album)
Writer is the debut album by Carole King and was released in 1970. King already had a successful career as a songwriter, and been a part of The City, a short-lived group she formed after moving to Los Angeles in 1968. Tracks on the album include "Up on the Roof" which was a number 4 hit for the Drifters in 1962, and "Child of Mine", which has been recorded by Billy Joe Royal, among others. The album did not receive much attention upon its release, though it entered the chart following the success of King's next album, Tapestry, in 1971.
Reviewers rate it positively if not as highly as Tapestry, one noting that it was the "most underrated of all [her] original albums". And, in a review that also covered Tapestry in Rolling Stone, Jon Landau wrote, "Writer was a blessing despite its faults" and that though the "production was poor", King herself made the album "very worthwhile".

Screenwriter
A screenplay writer, screenwriter for short, scriptwriter or scenarist is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting, writing screenplays on which mass media such as films, television programs, comics or video games are based.
Profession
Screenwriting is a freelance profession. No education is required to become a professional screenwriter, just good storytelling abilities and imagination. Screenwriters are not hired employees, they are contracted freelancers. Most, if not all, screenwriters start their careers writing on speculation (spec), meaning they write without being hired or paid for it. If such a script is sold, it is called a spec script. What separates a professional screenwriter from an amateur screenwriter is that professional screenwriters are usually represented by a talent agency. Also, professional screenwriters do not often work for free; whereas amateur screenwriters will often work for free and are considered "writers in training". Spec scripts are usually penned by unknown professional screenwriters and amateur screenwriters. There are a legion of would-be screenwriters who attempt to enter the film industry but it often takes years of trial-and-error, failure, and gritty persistence to achieve success. In Writing Screenplays that Sell, Michael Hague writes "Screenplays have become, for the last half of [the twentieth] century, what the Great American Novel was for the first half. Closet writers who used to dream of the glory of getting into print now dream of seeing their story on the big or small screen."

I should mention that I don't get up at 5AM * every * day, but pretty much every day of the week i get up super early and write before heading off to work. So, this is a pretty average morning for me--I work a 9 to 5, so getting up at ridiculous o'clock is unfortuantely necessary. Sometimes I just sleep in 'til 7AM. Self care is important. Also, often I skip makeup entirely so i can have more writing time hahah....

John Irving is the author of twelve books, including “The World According to Garp,” “A Prayer For Owen Meany,” and most recently, “Last Night on Twisted River.” Over his career he has won a National Book Award, an Academy Award for his adaptation of “The Cider House Rules,” and many other honors, and has been translated into over thirty languages. A former competitive wrestler, he splits his time between Vermont and Montreal.

Question: Did you know from an early age that you would be a writer?
John Irving: I supposed I had a number of what I might call pre-writing moments as a kid. I recognized at a pretty early age, certainly I was pre-teens, I noticed that the school day was enough of a day to spend with my friends. I seemed to have a need to want to be alone. Even before I started making almost landscape notes in a journal, even before I started keeping a journal, which happened to me when I was fourteen, even before then I had a need to come home from school by myself and to be in a room by myself or in my grandmother's garden by myself. I guess the earliest sign was how much I liked being alone, how much I actually needed to be alone, the way you need, or I need, exercise or food or a certain amount of sleep. There was that desire to be, and a comfort, at being alone.

What would some of the greatest writers of our time advise their younger peers? Find out here where Jonathan Franzen, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, Richard Ford, Umberto Eco and seven others share their thoughts on how to make it as a writer.
“Have fun … if you’re having fun there’s a good chance that the reader will too,” is American Jonathan Franzen’s (b. 1959) most important piece of advice.
Swedish playwright Lars Norén (b. 1944) argues that writing isn’t about desire, but about necessity: “… the disappointments and the efforts are so tough that you must have an inner conviction that this is what you want.”
“Write, write, write and write again, and you will get it right.” Such is the key piece of advice from Kenyan writer Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o (b. 1938).
American Lydia Davis (b.1947) emphasizes how important it is accept that writing can be chaotic and to put effort into making the text flow: “You learn from models, you study them, you analyse them very closely … You pick it apart.”
Remember what excited you when you were at your most impressionable, says Icelandic Sjón (b. 1962), who also urges young writers not to be embarrassed by what initially inspired you: “All of us come to culture through trash.”
”Build a good name,” is American rock poet Patti Smith’s (b. 1946) powerful advice, which she herself was given by legendary writer and poet William S. Burroughs: ”If you build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency.”
Italian Umberto Eco (b. 1932) advises aspiring writers not to take themselves too seriously, and to remember that: “You’re 10 per cent inspiration and 90 per cent perspiration.”
“If you’re not talented, you shouldn’t write.” Egyptian novelist Alaa al-Aswany (b. 1957) puts it as simply as that. However, if you do have talent, you can only make a difference if writing is truly the most important thing in your life.
Norwegian Herbjørg Wassmo (b. 1942) is unambiguous in her advice to aspiring writers when she states that it quite simply takes hard work and persistence to achieve your goals: “Write, write, write!”
Becoming a writer isn’t something you should aspire to be, according to American Richard Ford (b. 1944). Making it as a writer is “a long shot,” but if you can’t talk yourself out of it, then maybe it really is your vocation.
Norwegian Kjell Askildsen (b. 1929) turns things around and argues that one simply shouldn’t take advice from anyone but rather listen to the books you love.

Hello everyone (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡ here's my super-dooper early, productive writing routine and morning routine!
I should mention that I don't get up at 5AM * every * day, but pretty much every day of the week i get up super early and write before heading off to work. So, this is a pretty average morning for me--I work a 9 to 5, so getting up at ridiculous o'clock is unfortuantely necessary. Sometimes I just sleep in 'til 7AM. Self care is important.
Also, often I skip makeup entirely so i can have more writing time hahah.

John Irving is the author of twelve books, including “The World According to Garp,” “A Prayer For Owen Meany,” and most recently, “Last Night on Twisted River.” Over his career he has won a National Book Award, an Academy Award for his adaptation of “The Cider House Rules,” and many other honors, and has been translated into over thirty languages. A former competitive wrestler, he splits his time between Vermont and Montreal.

Question: Did you know from an early age that you would be a writer?
John Irving: I supposed I had a number of what I might call pre-writing moments as a kid. I recognized at a pretty early age, certainly I was pre-teens, I noticed that the school day was enough of a day to spend with my friends. I seemed to have a need to want to be alone. Even before I started making almost landscape notes in a journal, even before I started keeping a journal, which happened to me when I was fourteen, even before then I had a need to come home from school by myself and to be in a room by myself or in my grandmother's garden by myself. I guess the earliest sign was how much I liked being alone, how much I actually needed to be alone, the way you need, or I need, exercise or food or a certain amount of sleep. There was that desire to be, and a comfort, at being alone.

What would some of the greatest writers of our time advise their younger peers? Find out here where Jonathan Franzen, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, Richard Ford, Umberto Eco and seven others share their thoughts on how to make it as a writer.
“Have fun … if you’re having fun there’s a good chance that the reader will too,” is American Jonathan Franzen’s (b. 1959) most important piece of advice.
Swedish playwright Lars Norén (b. 1944) argues that writing isn’t about desire, but about necessity: “… the disappointments and the efforts are so tough that you must have an inner conviction that this is what you want.”
“Write, write, write and write again, and you will get it right.” Such is the key piece of advice from Kenyan writer Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o (b. 1938).
American Lydia Davis (b.1947) emphasizes how important it is accept that writing can be chaotic and to put effort into making the text flow: “You learn from models, you study them, you analyse them very closely … You pick it apart.”
Remember what excited you when you were at your most impressionable, says Icelandic Sjón (b. 1962), who also urges young writers not to be embarrassed by what initially inspired you: “All of us come to culture through trash.”
”Build a good name,” is American rock poet Patti Smith’s (b. 1946) powerful advice, which she herself was given by legendary writer and poet William S. Burroughs: ”If you build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency.”
Italian Umberto Eco (b. 1932) advises aspiring writers not to take themselves too seriously, and to remember that: “You’re 10 per cent inspiration and 90 per cent perspiration.”
“If you’re not talented, you shouldn’t write.” Egyptian novelist Alaa al-Aswany (b. 1957) puts it as simply as that. However, if you do have talent, you can only make a difference if writing is truly the most important thing in your life.

Becoming a writer isn’t something you should aspire to be, according to American Richard Ford (b. 1944). Making it as a writer is “a long shot,” but if you can’t talk yourself out of it, then maybe it really is your vocation.
Norwegian Kjell Askildsen (b. 1929) turns things around and argues that one simply shouldn’t take advice from anyone but rather listen to the books you love.

1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped carrot
1 finely chopped cucumber
1/2 finely chopped tomato

Finely chopped coriander
1/2 tsp cumin powder

Salt to taste

Method
1. Beat the curd.
2. Add cucumber,onion, tomato,carrot, green chilli, Mix it well.
3.Add cumin powder,Heeng, Black pepper powder, Black salt, white salt, Mix it well.
4. Add finely chopped coriander and mix it well.

Hello everyone (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡ here's my super-dooper early, productive writing routine and morning routine!
I should mention that I don't get up at 5AM * every * day, but pretty much every day of the week i get up super early and write before heading off to work. So, this is a pretty average morning for me--I work a 9 to 5, so getting up at ridiculous o'clock is unfortuantely necessary. Sometimes I just sleep in 'til 7AM. Self care is important.
Also, often I skip makeup entirely so i can have more writing time hahah.
