David Wood may refer to:
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Zakir Naik (born 18 October 1965 in Mumbai, India) is an Indian Islamic preacher, who has been called an "authority on comparative religion", "perhaps the most influential Salafi ideologue in India", and "the world's leading Salafi evangelist". He is the founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), and founder of the "comparative religion" Peace TV channel, through which he reaches a reported 100 million viewers. Unlike many Islamic preachers, his lectures are colloquial, given in English not Urdu or Arabic, and he wears a suit and tie rather than traditional garb.
Before becoming a public speaker, he trained as a medical doctor. He has published booklet versions of lectures on Islam and comparative religion. Although he has publicly disclaimed sectarianism in Islam, he is regarded by some as an exponent of the Salafi ideology, and, by some, as a radical Islamic televangelist propagating Wahhabism.
Zakir Naik was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He attended Kishinchand Chellaram College and studied medicine at Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital and later the University of Mumbai, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).
Wood is a porous and fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees and other woody plants.
It has been used for thousands of years for both fuel and as a construction material. It is an organic material, a natural composite of cellulose fibers (which are strong in tension) embedded in a matrix of lignin which resists compression. Wood is sometimes defined as only the secondary xylem in the stems of trees, or it is defined more broadly to include the same type of tissue elsewhere such as in the roots of trees or shrubs. In a living tree it performs a support function, enabling woody plants to grow large or to stand up by themselves. It also conveys water and nutrients between the leaves, other growing tissues, and the roots. Wood may also refer to other plant materials with comparable properties, and to material engineered from wood, or wood chips or fiber.
The Earth contains about 434 billion cubic meters of growing stock forest, 47% of which is commercial. As an abundant, carbon-neutral renewable resource, woody materials have been of intense interest as a source of renewable energy. In 1991, approximately 3.5 cubic kilometers of wood were harvested. Dominant uses were for furniture and building construction.
Michael Brant Shermer (born September 8, 1954) is an American science writer, historian of science, founder of The Skeptics Society, and Editor in Chief of its magazine Skeptic, which is largely devoted to investigating pseudoscientific and supernatural claims. The Skeptics Society currently has over 55,000 members. Shermer also engages in debates on topics pertaining to pseudoscience and religion in which he emphasizes scientific skepticism.
Shermer is also the producer and co-host of the 13-hour Fox Family television series Exploring the Unknown. Since April 2001, he has been a monthly columnist for Scientific American magazine with his Skeptic column. He is also a scientific advisor to the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH).
Shermer was once a fundamentalist Christian, but ceased to believe in the existence of God during his graduate studies. He accepts the labels agnostic, nontheist, atheist and others. He has expressed reservations about such labels for his lack of belief in a God, however, as he sees them being used in the service of "pigeonholing", and prefers to simply be called a skeptic. He also describes himself as an advocate for humanist philosophy as well as the science of morality.

I don’t mean wine or grape juice—I mean actual blood that’s oozing out of a human being? If so, have I got a religion for you. In Qadi Iyad’s "Ash-Shifa," page 36, we read: **There was also a time when Malik ibn Sinan drank his blood on the Day of Uhud and licked it up. The Prophet allowed him to do that and then said, “The Fire will not touch you.”** So, Malik wouldn’t go to hell because he drank Muhammad’s blood. I guess any mosquitos or fleas or bedbugs that bit Muhammad are going to be in Paradise, since they drank his blood. **Something similar occurred when Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr drank cupped blood. [This was blood drawn from Muhammad dur...
On October 10th, 2016, David Wood (Christian) debated Michael Shermer (Atheist) on the topic "Does God Exist?" The debate was sponsored by Ratio Christi. In the course of the debate, Wood and Shermer discussed the Scientific Revolution, design arguments, cosmological arguments, moral arguments, the problem of evil, skepticism, and methodology. In this video, David Wood examines the real reasons for the early spread of Islam, and compares the spread of Islam with the spread of Christianity.

However, when non-Muslims challenge or question the Quran, Muslim preachers often insist that the Quran can only be understood in Arabic. How can Islam be the religion for all people if its central text can only be understood in a single language? In this video, David Wood examines what the Quran says about why it was revealed in Arabic. The answer thoroughly contradicts the Muslim position. In this video (drawing on the work of John Adams, James Madison, Plato, Eric Hoffer, and Francis Schaeffer), David Wood argues that the United States is a Christian nation because Christianity is the force that prevents it from becoming a tyranny.
Support my videos on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=3615911 For nearly two thousand years, Christians have proclaimed Jesus’ death, resurrection, and deity. Islam rejects all three of these core doctrines and offers a different account of who Jesus was and what happened at the cross and afterwards. But the Islamic account comes at a terrible price. In order to reject Jesus’ death, resurrection, and deity, Islam has to portray God as a horrible deceiver and Jesus as the most stupendous failure in the history of the prophets. So, while Muslims claim that “Allah is the Truth” and that Jesus is to be revered as one of Allah’s mightiest prophets, these claims are hollow, because a closer examination shows what Islam really teaches about God and Jesus. To understand the theological inc...

But Fred explains away the evidence by appealing to increasingly absurd naturalistic explanations. In the end, even Fred recognizes that his explanations simply can't account for the facts. Atheists often call themselves "skeptics." But when we consider the methodology they apply when questioning God's existence, we find that the atheist's methodology rules out all evidence for God's existence even before considering what the evidence is. In this video, David Wood uses some clips from "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island" and some clips from his recent debate with Dr. Michael Shermer to show why it's becoming impossible to take ath...

It is every living object’s sole reason for living.” However, since atheist fertility rates are among the world's lowest, while Muslim fertility rates are the world's highest, it seems that atheism keeps humans from fulfilling their purpose, while Islam helps humans fulfill their purpose. This leads to the odd conclusion that if making copies of DNA is our fundamental purpose, Richard Dawkins should convert to Islam! Support my videos on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=3615911 Muslims around the world are being trained to ask Christians, “Where did Jesus say, ‘I am God, worship me,’ in those exact words?” However, if Muslims are suggesting that Jesus could only claim to be God by uttering a specific sentence, we may reply by asking, “Where did Jesus say, ‘I am only a prophet, don’t worship me,’ in those exact words?” The unreasonable demand for a particular statement, if applied consistently, would thus force Muslims to reject their own view! Fortunately, we have a simple way to examine what Jesus said about himself. According to both the Bible and the Qur’an, there are certain claims that only God can truly make. For instance, God alone can correctly state that he created the universe. Of co...
http://www.answeringmuslims.com I get several messages per day asking me why I don't debate Zakir Naik. The answer is simple: Zakir Naik is a coward who refuses to face experienced Christian debaters. Naik has never once faced an experienced Christian debater, and he never will. In this video, I present three reasons for concluding that Zakir Naik is a joke. (1) He portrays himself as a champion debater, when he runs from the debate challenges of every Christian who regularly debates. (2) His organization pays people to convert to Islam (just as Muhammad did nearly fourteen centuries ago). (3) Muslims who don't speak English are brought to Naik's English lectures to cheer for what he says, even though they can't understand him. Should we stop, falling to the ground?
Should we drop, our hands down from the clouds?
Now I have to rummage for a way to make me feel just a little complete.
I'm worn out with my weary eyes and what I see, I don't like what I see.
Strive, walk away and then run,
Further than you are.
Walk away, run,
Further than you strive.
Walk away, run,
Further than you are.
Walk away, run,
Further than you strive.
And I'm driving towards a simple life,
It's leading me down a one-way street.
And when I cross the double lines,
I don't think I can pull away from what's ahead.
Strive, walk away, run,
Further than you are.
Walk away, run,
Further than you strive.
Walk away, run,
Further than you are.
Walk away, run,
Further than you...
Stop, falling to the ground.
Should we drop, our hands down from the clouds?
Do we walk, to forget about the days,
That we lost, in the turn of our own ways?
Should we stop, falling to the ground?
