The leak has apparently taken place from the Gulf as it has Arabic subtitles
Immense efforts are being taken to avoid the leak of superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Kabali. But according to media reports, the opening scene of the film has been leaked on the dark side.
Even after Madras High Court banned service providers and websites from pirating the movie, some digital pirates are teasing the leak on Facebook pages prior to the official release on Friday, July 22.
According to a report in NDTV, an image from the movie, allegedly opening scene, was posted on a Facebook page called TamilRockers.com.
Rajini craze is difficult to contain. Corporations are declaring holidays considering several no-shows at work on July 22. So it does make it difficult to keep the movie under wraps before the release. A source close to the production echoed the same sentiments, "We’ve contacted the authorities to pull down all these unauthorised links to the film. However, this is a Rajinikanth film. It is difficult to contain let alone control the excitement for a film starring the Thalaiva.”
According to Hindustan Times, the leak might have happened from the Gulf. HT quoted a source saying, "The leaked clip features Arabic subtitles too. Hence, it must have originated from the Gulf. The team is trying to find the source of the leak."
Apart from the efforts being taken by the makers, there are anti-piracy campaigns run by fans of the superstar. Urging others not to choose the piracy sites over going to a movie hall to watch the film.
Rajinikanth plays a don in the movie. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie also stars Radhika Apte, Dinesh and others in pivotal roles.
