Area high school football teams are closing in on the official start of summer practice, but with 10 days to go before Aug.1, this isn't the calm before the storm. Coaches get 10 days in the summer to work with their players and many use some of those days to attend 7-on-7 scrimmages.
Fairmont hosted one such event on Thursday night. The Firebirds and new head coach Dave Miller hosted Stebbins, Oakwood, Belmont, Bethel, Middletown and Tippecanoe.
