Murray Bridge is in the state of South Australia and 76km east south-east of the state's capital, Adelaide. Farming is prominent in the area, particularly dairy, pigs, chickens and vegetables. It ha a population of 14,048 in 2006 and has a semi-arid weather patterns.
Australia's infamous Bunyip can be found on the Sturt Reserve in Murray Bridge. It is of course a mechanical replica of the legendary animal that people put coins in and watch as it rises from the depths. It is a quintessential, South Australian legend and if you ask most people, they have vivid child hood memories of first visiting the man-made creature.
Murray Bridge is, as its name suggests, situated by the Murray River and people often travel from other areas of the state to partake in river activities such as skiing, knee-boarding and wake boarding. It is a popular family holiday destination.
