Today everybody wears trousers: men and women, young and old, at almost all occasions. But who invented the trousers? When? Where? Why? This documentary tells the story of an international research team’s pursuit to find answers on these questions.
The camera accompanies the scientists to dry inner Asian archaeological excavation sites in China and working tables of conservators; to laboratories of ancient climate and animal DNA research, to sheep shearer’s barns and fashion designer’s studios. Viewers can watch the team making discoveries and facing insurmountable obstacles in the process of reverse engineering when they try to reproduce the oldest known trousers of the world.
The documentary comprises unpublished film material, animation sequences and music specially composed for this story. The film is a result of cooperation between archaeologists and students of Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.

Here are ten different ways to style a wide leg trouser. These are great spring outfits for petites because this specific pant fits like a glove on a petite figure! I've linked it down below, but I strongly encourage you to search second-hand before buying new.
Important Note: As petites, we are still a part of the group of women who are not typically included in the size charts of most sustainable brands, therefore it is difficult to find clothing that fits us properly and ticks off the sustainability boxes. The brand of these pants is not one that I regularly support (I’ve stopped shopping here completely) but I understand how difficult it is to find petite clothing, hence the link. Please shop with intention - if you have something similar then use it! If you do not currently need another pair of pants, then don’t feel obligated to go and buy a pair (you can achieve these looks with regular trousers too). These pants are most likely available second-hand, so don’t sleep on local resellers and FB marketplace!! The whole idea of my outfit videos is to inspire creativity by using your existing wardrobe, it is one of the first steps we can take towards a sustainable fashion industry ☺️

Tips for finding the perfect trousers...
1. Try to find a high waisted style!
2. Fabrics that drape well naturally look the most flattering versus a very structured style (they can be overwhelming on a petite figure). The trousers I style are a great example of good drape.
3. They should touch the ground when wearing a flat, and not be more than 1-2” above the ground if wearing a heel.
4. Find a style that is not tight around the upper thigh area, it should be wide all the way through.
5. Trousers with a front pleat make them look less wide and the tailoring helps to prevent overwhelm on a petite figure.

The chanson de geste, Old French for "song of heroic deeds" (from gesta: Latin: "deeds, actions accomplished"), is a medieval narrative, a type of epic poem that appears at the dawn of French literature. The historical events the chansons allude to occur in the eighth through tenth centuries, yet the earliest chansons we have were probably composed at the end of the eleventh century: only three chansons de geste have a composition that incontestably dates from before 1150: the Chanson de Guillaume, The Song of Roland and Gormont et Isembart: the first half of the Chanson de Guillaume may date from as early as the eleventh century;Gormont et Isembart may date from as early as 1068, according to one expert; and The Song of Roland probably dates from after 1086 to c.1100.

Today everybody wears trousers: men and women, young and old, at almost all occasions. But who invented the trousers? When? Where? Why? This documentary tells the story of an international research team’s pursuit to find answers on these questions.
The camera accompanies the scientists to dry inner Asian archaeological excavation sites in China and working tables of conservators; to laboratories of ancient climate and animal DNA research, to sheep shearer’s barns and fashion designer’s studios. Here are ten different ways to style a wide leg trouser. These are great spring outfits for petites because this specific pant fits like a glove on a petite figure! I've linked it down below, but I strongly encourage you to search second-hand before buying new.
Important Note: As petites, we are still a part of the group of women who are not typically included in the size charts of most sustainable brands, therefore it is difficult to find clothing that fits us properly and ticks off the sustainability boxes. The brand of these pants is not one that I regularly support (I’ve stopped shopping here completely) but I understand how difficult it is to find petite clothing, hence the link. Please shop with intention - if you have something similar then use it! If you do not currently need another pair of pants, then don’t feel obligated to go and buy a pair (you can achieve these looks with regular trousers too). These pants are most likely available second-hand, so don’t sleep on local resellers and FB marketplace!! The whole idea of my outfit videos is to inspire creativity by using your existing wardrobe, it is one of the first steps we can take towards a sustainable fashion industry ☺️

Tips for finding the perfect trousers...
1. Try to find a high waisted style!
2. Fabrics that drape well naturally look the most flattering versus a very structured style (they can be overwhelming on a petite figure). The trousers I style are a great example of good drape.
3. They should touch the ground when wearing a flat, and not be more than 1-2” above the ground if wearing a heel.
4. Find a style that is not tight around the upper thigh area, it should be wide all the way through.
5. Trousers with a front pleat make them look less wide and the tailoring helps to prevent overwhelm on a petite figure.

I encourage you to educate yourself on the brands that you are considering purchasing from. Today everybody wears trousers: men and women, young and old, at almost all occasions. But who invented the trousers? When? Where? Why? This documentary tells the story of an international research team’s pursuit to find answers on these questions.
The camera accompanies the scientists to dry inner Asian archaeological excavation sites in China and working tables of conservators; to laboratories of ancient climate and animal DNA research, to sheep shearer’s barns and fashion designer’s studios. Viewers can watch the team making discoveries and facing insurmountable obstacles in the process of reverse engineering when they try to reproduce the oldest known trousers of the world.
The documentary comprises unpublished film material, animation sequences and music specially composed for this story. The film is a result of cooperation between archaeologists and students of Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.

They have me covered for any situation and I think they are all really versatile options to have in your wardrobe. I have 4 pairs of trousers and 2 pairs of denim to show you and I believe they can all be worn casually on a daily basis.

Here are ten different ways to style a wide leg trouser. These are great spring outfits for petites because this specific pant fits like a glove on a petite figure! I've linked it down below, but I strongly encourage you to search second-hand before buying new.
Important Note: As petites, we are still a part of the group of women who are not typically included in the size charts of most sustainable brands, therefore it is difficult to find clothing that fits us properly and ticks off the sustainability boxes. The brand of these pants is not one that I regularly support (I’ve stopped shopping here completely) but I understand how difficult it is to find petite clothing, hence the link. Please shop with intention - if you have something similar then use it! If you do not currently need another pair of pants, then don’t feel obligated to go and buy a pair (you can achieve these looks with regular trousers too). These pants are most likely available second-hand, so don’t sleep on local resellers and FB marketplace!! The whole idea of my outfit videos is to inspire creativity by using your existing wardrobe, it is one of the first steps we can take towards a sustainable fashion industry ☺️

Tips for finding the perfect trousers...
1. Try to find a high waisted style!
2. Fabrics that drape well naturally look the most flattering versus a very structured style (they can be overwhelming on a petite figure). The trousers I style are a great example of good drape.
3. They should touch the ground when wearing a flat, and not be more than 1-2” above the ground if wearing a heel.
4. Find a style that is not tight around the upper thigh area, it should be wide all the way through.
5. Trousers with a front pleat make them look less wide and the tailoring helps to prevent overwhelm on a petite figure.

One of Madness's true anthems, 'Baggy Trousers' captured the imagination of kids and parents all over the UK when it was released in 1980. The video, which begins with that unmistakable "thing-a-ling-a-ling", finds Madness back at school remembering the fun they had. According to the song all Madness learned at school was "how to bend, not break the rules" and they've been doing it ever since.

Chanson de geste
The chanson de geste, Old French for "song of heroic deeds" (from gesta: Latin: "deeds, actions accomplished"), is a medieval narrative, a type of epic poem that appears at the dawn of French literature. The earliest known poems of this genre date from the late eleventh and early twelfth centuries, before the emergence of the lyric poetry of the trouvères (troubadours) and the earliest verse romances. They reached their apogee in the period 1150–1250.
Composed in verse, these narrative poems of moderate length (averaging 4000 lines) were originally sung, or (later) recited, by minstrels or jongleurs. More than one hundred chansons de geste have survived in around three hundred manuscripts that date from the 12th to the 15th century.
Origins
Since the 19th century, much critical debate has centered on the origins of the chansons de geste, and particularly on explaining the length of time between the composition of the chansons and the actual historical events which they reference. The historical events the chansons allude to occur in the eighth through tenth centuries, yet the earliest chansons we have were probably composed at the end of the eleventh century: only three chansons de geste have a composition that incontestably dates from before 1150: the Chanson de Guillaume, The Song of Roland and Gormont et Isembart: the first half of the Chanson de Guillaume may date from as early as the eleventh century;Gormont et Isembart may date from as early as 1068, according to one expert; and The Song of Roland probably dates from after 1086 to c.1100.
