Kirkland Lake is a town and municipality located in Timiskaming District in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. The 2011 population, according to Statistics Canada, was 8,493.
The community name was based on a nearby lake which in turn was named after Winnifred Kirkland, a secretary of the Ontario Department of Mines in Toronto. The lake was named by surveyor Louis Rorke in 1907. Ms Kirkland never visited the town, and the lake that bore her name no longer exists because of mine tailings. The community comprises Kirkland Lake, as well as Swastika, Chaput Hughes and Harvey Kirkland.
Kirkland Lake was built on gold, but it is equally well known for producing world-famous hockey players. Indeed, legendary hockey broadcaster Foster Hewitt called Kirkland Lake "the town that made the NHL famous", likely because in the early days of the NHL, it was not uncommon to find an NHLer from the town. The town celebrates this tradition at the Hockey Heritage North museum.
Until January 1, 1972, the town was known as Township of Teck. A by-law was introduced, on July 20, 1971 to change the name of the municipality to Town of Kirkland Lake, effective January 1, 1972.
A lake is an area of variable size filled with water, localized in a basin, that is surrounded by land, apart from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Lakes lie on land and are not part of the ocean (except for sea lochs in Scotland and Ireland), and therefore are distinct from lagoons, and are also larger and deeper than ponds, though there are no official or scientific definitions. Lakes can be contrasted with rivers or streams, which are usually flowing. However most lakes are fed and drained by rivers and streams.
Natural lakes are generally found in mountainous areas, rift zones, and areas with ongoing glaciation. Other lakes are found in endorheic basins or along the courses of mature rivers. In some parts of the world there are many lakes because of chaotic drainage patterns left over from the last Ice Age. All lakes are temporary over geologic time scales, as they will slowly fill in with sediments or spill out of the basin containing them.
Many lakes are artificial and are constructed for industrial or agricultural use, for hydro-electric power generation or domestic water supply, or for aesthetic or recreational purposes.
Mad Money is an American finance television program hosted by Jim Cramer that began airing on CNBC on March 14, 2005. Its main focus is investment and speculation, particularly in publicly traded stocks. In a notable departure from the CNBC programming style prior to its arrival, Mad Money presents itself in an entertainment-style format rather than a news broadcasting one.
Cramer defines "mad money" as the money one "can use to invest in stocks ... not retirement money, which you want in 401K or an IRA, a savings account, bonds, or the most conservative of dividend-paying stocks."
Mad Money replaced Dylan Ratigan's Bullseye for the 6 p.m. Eastern Time slot. On January 8, 2007, CNBC began airing reruns of the show at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, on Monday through Friday, and at 4 a.m. Eastern Time, on Saturdays.
In March 2012, the program became a part of what was formerly branded as NBC All Night in the nominal 3:07 a.m. ET/2:07 a.m. timeslot on weeknights, replacing week-delayed repeats of NBC's late night talk shows. In that form, only the video for the program was presented on a 16:9 screen with gray branded windowboxing and pillarboxing, with all enhanced business information, including the CNBC Ticker, removed. Because of the scheduling of local station's 4 a.m. or 4:30 a.m. newscasts to air Early Today depending on how a station schedules its overnight programming (even if it airs at the regular time in the Eastern and Pacific time zones for instance, seven minutes would have to be cut-off to fit in Early Today and a local newscast starting at 4:30 a.m.), it is subject to local pre-emption, including by NBC O&O's.
Lake Ontario (French: Lac Ontario) is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. It is surrounded on the north, west, and southwest by the Canadian province of Ontario, and on the south and east by the American state of New York, whose water boundaries meet in the middle of the lake. Ontario, Canada's most populous province, was named for the lake. In the Wyandot (Huron) language, ontarío means “Lake of Shining Waters”. Its primary inlet is the Niagara River from Lake Erie. The last in the Great Lakes chain, Lake Ontario serves as the outlet to the Atlantic Ocean via the St. Lawrence River.
With so much uncertainty in this market, where could the price of gold be headed? The gun used was a .30-06 and the make is Churchill Firearms Im a firm believer that if the moose is still up, keep shooting it. *Edit* The butcher confirmed all 5 shots hit. The ammunition was defective.

The Canada Day crowd at Baird Park in Kirkland Lake was entertained with a surprise Flash mob performed by the gang at Pulse Dance and Fitness studio. It was funny to watch all of the cell phones come up to record the Flash mob once people discovered what was going on.

First of all, I apologize for the long wait. They've been having a little bit of trouble getting things up and running. But now everything is all set up. For this part of the series, we will take a walk around The hotel. You'll see the rest of the room types, as well as the brand-new pool that has just been put in about a couple of months ago. I would like to thank all the staff for taking the time for showing me around this amazing property. This is the only hotel in the area that has a swimming pool. Once again, a big thank you to all the staff for generosity and support in making this hotel not only safe but accessible to. Hope you all enjoyed this video. I would like to thank Jordan who is the manager of the Microtel hotel for allowing me to do this. It was the best tour I have ever had. Because I wanted the best of the best. I wanted to make sure that he was the one to show everything.. Hope you all enjoy this. Note that this is probably the longest video I have ever shot. It's almost a half an hour long. Stay tuned for part two of the series. Comment, like, and subscribe for more videos.

Step By Step's 6th Campaign SOS4000 October 1 2007 -- June 11 2008 Over 100 students from cities across Canada were selected to carry the Torch Of Life in their community. Their tasks also included public speaking, media interviews and photo ops with dignitaries. These were students that Kristopher Knowles inspired during his campaign. They were part of his army and part of the vision that Pope John Paul 2 passed on to George Marcello during the Canada 769 Day Walk. These Students were organ & tissue ambassadors, they were the SOS4000 Student Torch Champions and the passionate voice for an entire nation. They also set the stage for future countries to do this kind of campaign; thus SOS THE AMERICAS. His Honour Ontario Lieutenant Governor David Onley wanted to hear about every Student T...

Step By Step's 4th Campaign Kristopher's Wish 13 YEAR OLD NEEDS LIVER CARRIES TORCH ACROSS CANADA In 2004, Step By Step arranged a 200 community tour across Canada for Kristopher Knowles, a 14 year old boy that needed a liver transplant. This campaign was called Kristophers Wish and as he made his way across Canada, He carried the famous Torch of Life and he touched the hearts of many Canadians and recruited hundreds of thousands of students. This unbelievable young boy become a hero to many and midway his disease Biliary Atresia went into remission which was unheard of in the medical world. When asked how this happened, he pointed to the Torch and said, it was power of love that so many people put into the Torch that made this happen.
Step By Step's 8th CAMPAIGN Torch Of Life April 14, 2010 - TORCH OF LIFE On April 14, 2010 in Washington DC, George completed 25% of Step by Step's 7th Campaign SOSTheAmericas. The bank was taking his house & George had to abandon his dream of bringing the Torch through 35 countries to Argentina. Ironically this happened at Pope John Paul 2 Cultural Centre. Throughout the rest of 2010, George desperately tried to raise the funds & resources to continue the campaign but time & time again was unsuccessful, and accomplished smaller activities in Toronto. In January 2011, George went to his friend Lorenzo home in Vancouver BC. Something remarkable happened, that indirectly set off an amazing series of events. In December 2010 George agreed to walk for Sickle Cell Disease from Ottawa to Tor...
