Host (masculine) and hostess (feminine) most often refer to a person responsible for guests at an event or providing hospitality during it, or to an event's presenter or master or mistress of ceremonies. Host or hosts may also refer to:
A Cossack host (Ukrainian: Козаче військо, kozache viysko), sometimes translated as Cossack army, was an administrative subdivision of Cossacks in Ukraine. The word host is an archaic word for army.
The Cossack host consisted of a certain territory with Cossack settlements that had to provide military regiments for service in the Imperial Russian Army and for border patrol. Usually the hosts were named after the regions of their dislocation. The stanitsa, or village, formed the primary unit of this organization.
The Rogue Mage series of fantasy novels were written by Faith Hunter about races of beings inhabiting a post-apocalyptic Earth of the not-too distant future. Some of them possess magical powers. The series is set in the remains of the United States about a century after an apocalypse similar to the one predicted in the Book of Revelation, but with no God appearing.
Bloodring (ISBN 0-451-46108-8) is the first fantasy novel by Hunter and the first installment of the series. It was published by Roc Trade on 2006 November 7. It was given a three-star review by Romantic Times.
The story take place about a century after an apocalypse. It includes "neomages", a new race of beings that arose during the time of the apocalypse. They live in an area known as the Enclave, which is both a prison and sanctuary, and are able to work with "leftover creation energy".
Thorn St. Croix is a neomage in exile from the Enclave. Thorn (unlike most mages) is telepathic, and she constantly hears the thoughts of the other mages in the Enclave. This threatened to drive her insane when it began during her adolescence and forced her to live amongst humans whose thoughts she does not hear.
Generic term used in the case of polymeric material that may contain other substances
to improve performance and/or reduce costs.
Note 1: The use of this term instead of polymer is a source of confusion and thus is
not recommended.
Note 2: This term is used in polymer engineering for materials often compounded that
can be processed by flow.
Plastic is a material consisting of any of a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organics that are malleable and can be molded into solid objects of diverse shapes. Plastics are typically organic polymers of high molecular mass, but they often contain other substances. They are usually synthetic, most commonly derived from petrochemicals, but many are partially natural.Plasticity is the general property of all materials that are able to irreversibly deform without breaking, but this occurs to such a degree with this class of moldable polymers that their name is an emphasis on this ability.
Due to their relatively low cost, ease of manufacture, versatility, and imperviousness to water, plastics are used in an enormous and expanding range of products, from paper clips to spaceships. They have already displaced many traditional materials, such as wood, stone, horn and bone, leather, paper, metal, glass, and ceramic, in most of their former uses. In developed countries, about a third of plastic is used in packaging and another third in buildings such as piping used in plumbing or vinyl siding. Other uses include automobiles (up to 20% plastic), furniture, and toys. In the developing world, the ratios may be different - for example, reportedly 42% of India's consumption is used in packaging. Plastics have many uses in the medical field as well, to include polymer implants, however the field of plastic surgery is not named for use of plastic material, but rather the more generic meaning of the word plasticity in regards to the reshaping of flesh.

Alanis is the debut studio album by Alanis Morissette, released only in Canada in April 1991 by MCA Records Canada. Morissette recorded the album with Leslie Howe, who also produced her second album Now Is the Time (1992), and it was certified platinum.
John Alexander, head of A&R for MCA Records Canada, first heard a demo tape from Morissette in 1983, when she was nine years old. He called it "very promising. Her voice was very strong, and it was remarkable that the tape included some original songs written by her at that age." However, he decided not to sign her to a record deal because "from an A&R standpoint, I said, 'What am I going to do with a nine-year-old?'" In 1987 Morissette met entertainment manager Stephan Klovan, and at the 1988 World Figure Skating Championships she recorded a well-received version of "O Canada" with two musicians, one of whom was Leslie Howe of the new wave/synthpop duo One to One. Klovan intended for Howe to work with Morissette so that she could audition on the television show Star Search, but eventually both he and Howe decided to try to secure a record contract for her.

Sustainable Brampton had its AGM at their community centre which featured some guest speakers from PACT, a group in Penrith dedicated to making the town more eco-friendly. The focus of the evening was single-use plastic, which PACT has spent nearly ten years campaigning against. Speeches from members and questions from those in attendance were heard.
"This World Has Too Much Plastic". Deemed to be politically subversive, this video was denied by one of the Social Media Giants. It seems a song and story about a little girl who loves our planet and simply wants people to think a little more about their use of plastic, is damming and dangerous. Elastic is a track from Shane Ó Fearghail's third album 'They Might See Dolphins' - was written about a young girl loves, rainbows, trees, unicorns, rivers and seas. Performed by Shane Ó Fearghail & The Host, Elastic was recorded live at Audio Heart Studios Vienna - in the last days of December 2018. A trick went terribly wrong on live television in Poland when a show's co-host got stabbed through the hand with a nail. While appearing on the morning show, "Question for Breakfast," magician Marcin Poloniewicz stood a nail in one of four paper bags, mixed them up, and slammed his hand down on one of the bags, without hitting the nail. Then Poloniewicz, who's appeared on "Poland's Got Talent," asked the show's co-host, Marzena Rogalska, to do the same. "I don't want the one with the nail," she begged.
India, a country that ranks third from the bottom in the global Environmental Performance Index, is hosting the World Environment Day this year, on June 5. The theme for this year is 'Beat Plastic Pollution', which urges governments, industry, communities and individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and urgently reduce the production and excessive use of single-use plastic that is polluting our oceans, damaging marine life and threatening human health. When it comes to saving the environment, these Bollywood celebrities believe in working for the cause, and not necessarily for the applause. We are remembering the work of these celebrities on World Environment Day because their efforts extend beyond smiling for the cameras or posing for campaigns. Let's take a l...
