Cole Alexander (born 9 July 1989 in Cape Town, Western Cape) is a South African football (soccer) midfielder for Premier Soccer League club Polokwane City.
He hails from Mitchell's Plain on the Cape Flats.
Black Lips is a garage rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.
The band formed in 1999 in Dunwoody, Georgia after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. Alexander and Swilley were known for their crude antics both during shows and at school. They were kicked out of school during their senior year after the Columbine Massacre in 1999 because they were regarded as a "subculture danger." Drummer Joe Bradley, who had been studying in college after graduating high school early, joined a few months later. They released their first 7-inch in 2002 with tracks from their first ever studio LP ~ completed in 2000 with producer/guitarist Eric Gagnon of The El Caminos. The 7-inch featured Juvenile and Ain't Coming Back, both of which were tracked, mixed and mastered by Gagnon, and was released on their own record label, Die Slaughterhaus. Just days before a tour was to begin in December 2002, guitarist Ben Eberbaugh was driving a car when he was struck by a drunk driver and killed. The band carried on, believing that Eberbaugh would want them to continue.
Bradford James Cox (born May 15, 1982) is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the indie rock band Deerhunter. He also pursues a solo career under the moniker Atlas Sound. Cox formed Deerhunter with drummer Moses Archuleta in 2001. The band has released 6 studio albums along with several singles and EPs. Atlas Sound is a name Cox has used since he was ten to refer to his own music, but his first full-length production under the name was Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See but Cannot Feel, released in 2008. Cox's method of creating music is stream-of-consciousness, and he does not write lyrics in advance. He made his film acting debut in 2013's Dallas Buyers Club.
Lonnie Bradley Holley, sometimes known as The Sand Man (born February 10, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama), is an African-American artist and art educator. He was born the 7th of 27 children, and claims to have been traded for a bottle of whiskey when he was four.
Holley began his artistic life in 1979 by carving tombstones for his sister's two children who died in a house fire. He used blocks of a soft sandstone-like by-product of metal casting which was discarded in piles by a foundry near his sister's house. He believes that divine intervention led him to the material and inspired his artwork.
Inspired to create, Holley made other carvings and assembled them in his yard along with various found objects. In 1981 he brought a few examples of his sandstone carvings to Birmingham Museum of Art director Richard Murray. The BMA displayed some of those pieces immediately and Murray introduced him to the organizers of the 1981 exhibition "More Than Land and Sky: Art from Appalachia" at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Soon his work was being acquired by other institutions, such as the American Folk Art Museum in New York and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. His work has also been displayed at the White House.

The Black Lips are the kind of rock n' roll band you could take home to see your mom—if your mom likes puke, nudity, pills, drinking beer, and throwing beer at people (sidebar: if your mom likes these things, we want to come home with you, too). In short, the Black Lips are the hardest working, gnarliest flower-punk rock band in the world right now (their 2011 Mark Ronson-produced Arabia Mountain is one of our favorite records of the past year). Based out of Atlanta, the Lips have spent the past decade touring the planet more or less constantly. We recently brought the three surviving founding members of the group (drummer Joe Bradley, guitarist Cole Alexander, bassist Jared Swilley) back to the place it all began, the suburban wasteland of Dunwoody, Georgia, where they grew up. Needless ...
