Ultimate Running Olympic Epic Funny Fails Compilation 2016 - Part 1 || Off topics Most drunks and liars just bring shame upon themselves and their families.But the apparently inebriated and prevaricating U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has besmirched two whole nations: the United States, of course, which should’ve been remembered at the Rio Olympics only for its often dominating performances, but which will now live with this most unpleasant international incident in perpetuity. Lochte also deeply offended host nation Brazil, by claiming he and his cohorts were robbed on the streets there – an unfortunate, and completely fictional, confirmation of a stereotype the Brazilians have fought night and day to combat – when, in fact, it was he and his cohorts who vandalized a locked gas station restroom after a night of drinking. And, of course, as USA Today’s Christine Brennan writes, “Lochte and his three U.S. swimming teammates owe literally thousands of people an apology: Rio 2016 Olympic officials, the International Olympic Committee, the U.S. Olympic Committee and, most of all, the athletes of these Games.” These guys pulled Brazilian police resources away from other chores, and shot out the spotlight that should’ve been on their fellow U.S. athletes. We've been waiting for this moment for the last four years!!! There's no better way to prepare for the olympics than watching a bunch of olympic sport fails. Who knew running around a track, jumping onto sand or swinging a ping pong paddle could get so dangerous. Mallory Pugh, the teenage phenom from Colorado, came to Brazil in search of gold. She instead was dragged off the pitch by teammates after being hurt late in a shocking loss to Sweden on Friday during the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament. Jill Ellis proved she never should have replaced her former boss as coach of the U.S. squad, especially because it was former boss Pia Sundhage who led a talent-thin Swedish squad to the most stunning upset seen to date at the Summer Games. Hope Solo, whose name fits both the goalkeeper’s singular talent and her self-absorbed nature, left the Olympics as the ugly American. When congratulations to the underdogs that beat her 4-3 in a shootout were in order, Solo instead blasted the conservative defensive approach of the Swedish women, telling reporters in Brasilia: “We lost to a bunch of cowards. The better team did not win.” Is it any wonder why the rest of the world takes such delight in watching the USA lose? The 27-6 advantage in shots by the U.S. led Solo to gripe the side that dominated the flow of play did not win. Isn’t that the oldest, lamest complaint in soccer? It required a sliding shot by Alex Morgan to even the score at 1-1 in the 77th minute and send the game to extra time. In a cheesy bit of gamesmanship, Solo changed gloves before Lisa Dahlkvist stepped up for the fifth round of the shootout. “What she did was an act of panic,” said Swedish goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl, who stoned Morgan and watched a shot by Christen Press sail far over the bar during penalty kicks. The lack of creativity and tempo to the USA’s offensive attack doomed the three-time defending Olympic champs. While going 2-0-1 during group play, U.S. players seemed perplexed why they were so slow to move the ball out of the back and through the midfield. The team relied heavily on Pugh, an 18-year-old from suburban Denver, to initiate the attack within 35 yards of goal from the wing. As Olympians, they were representatives of both the United States and the Olympic ethic. Epic fail, ethic fail.
