A pundit is someone who offers to mass media his or her opinion or commentary on a particular subject area (most typically political analysis, the social sciences or sport) on which they are usually knowledgeable (or can at least appear to be knowledgable. The term has been increasingly applied to popular media personalities. In certain cases, it may be used in a derogatory manner as well, as the political equivalent of "ideologue."
The term originates from the Sanskritic term pandit, (paṇḍitá), meaning "learned" (see also Pandit). It refers to someone who is erudite in various subjects and who conducts religious ceremonies and offers counsel to the king and usually referred to a person from the Hindu Caste System of Brahmins.
From at least the early 19th century, a Pundit of the Supreme Court in Colonial India was an officer of the judiciary who advised British judges on questions of Hindu law. In Anglo-Indian use, pundit also referred to a native of India who was trained and employed by the British to survey inaccessible regions beyond the British frontier.
Ann Hart Coulter (born December 8, 1961) is an American lawyer, conservative social and political commentator, author, and syndicated columnist. She frequently appears on television, radio, and as a speaker at public events and private events. Well-known for her conservative political opinions and the controversial ways in which she presents and defends them, Coulter has described herself as a polemicist who likes to "stir up the pot" and does not "pretend to be impartial or balanced, as broadcasters do."
Ann Hart Coulter was born in New York City on December 8, 1961, to Nell Husbands (née Martin; a native of Paducah, Kentucky) and John Vincent Coulter (a native of Albany, New York). The family later moved to New Canaan, Connecticut, where Coulter and her two older brothers, James and John, were raised. She graduated from New Canaan High School in 1980. Coulter's age was disputed in 2002 while she was arguing that she was not yet 40, yet Washington Post columnist Lloyd Grove cited that she provided a birthdate of December 8, 1961, when registering to vote in New Canaan, Connecticut prior to the 1980 Presidential election. Meanwhile, a driver's license issued several years later allegedly listed her birthdate as December 8, 1963. Coulter will not confirm either date, citing privacy concerns.
Evan Sayet (born around 1960) is a Jewish American stand up comedian and conservative speaker based in Los Angeles, California.
Evan's career is divided almost exactly down the middle, his time split between his political humor and his more serious lectures. About his comedy, Ann Coulter says "Who makes me laugh? Easy. Evan Sayet." while Michael Barone of US News and World Report opines, "Evan has crossed that line from 'funny to important.'" His serious work includes "Regurgitating the Apple: How The Modern Liberal 'Thinks,'" which he delivered to the Heritage Foundation.
Andrew Breitbart calls that talk "One of the five most important conservative speeches ever given."
Evan is currently giving the third talk in what he calls his "Heritage Foundation Series," this time expounding on how the Modern Liberal thinks to explain why it is that the Mainstream Media has gotten literally every major story of the past sixty years not just wrong but as wrong as wrong can be, their mischaracterizations invariably working to bolster the evil, failed and wrong and to denigrate all that is good, right and successful.
