Racing ban 'could endanger animal welfare'

NSW Premier Mike Baird's decision to close greyhound racing next year was predicated on animal welfare but there is a real danger that the animals the ban is intended to protect could end up becoming collateral damage in the rush to shut down the sport within 12 months.
