"Pastures of Plenty" is a 1941 composition by Woody Guthrie. Describing the travails and dignity of migrant workers in North America, it is evocative of the world described in John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. The tune is based on the ballad "Pretty Polly," a traditional English-language folk song from the British Isles that was also well known in the Appalachian region of North America.
The phrase is used in a different context in the song Talking Vietnam Pot-Luck Blues by Tom Paxton. The line "we come with the dust and we go with the wind" reappears as "that come with the dust and are gone with the wind" in Bob Dylan's "Song to Woody".

Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Guthrie (/ˈɡʌθri/; July 14, 1912 – October 3, 1967) was an American singer-songwriter and musician whose musical legacy includes hundreds of political, traditional and children's songs, ballads and improvised works. He frequently performed with the slogan This machine kills fascists displayed on his guitar. His best-known song is "This Land Is Your Land". Many of his recorded songs are archived in the Library of Congress. Songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Hunter, Harry Chapin, John Mellencamp, Pete Seeger, Andy Irvine, Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg, Jerry Garcia, Jay Farrar, Bob Weir, Jeff Tweedy, Bob Childers and Tom Paxton have acknowledged Guthrie as a major influence.
Many of his songs are about his experiences in the Dust Bowl era during the Great Depression when he traveled with displaced farmers from Oklahoma to California and learned their traditional folk and blues songs, earning him the nickname the "Dust Bowl Troubadour". Throughout his life Guthrie was associated with United States Communist groups, though he was seemingly not a member of any.
Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation. Nevertheless, early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" altered the range of popular music in 1965. His mid-1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement.
Dylan's lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres. His recording career, spanning 50 years, has explored the traditions in American song—from folk, blues, and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, embracing even jazz and the Great American Songbook. Dylan performs with guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. Backed by a changing line-up of musicians, he has toured steadily since the late 1980s on what has been dubbed the Never Ending Tour. His accomplishments as a recording artist and performer have been central to his career, but songwriting is considered his greatest contribution.
Peter Tevis (born February 10, 1937, in Santa Barbara, California, USA, died September 13, 2006 in Mercer Island, Washington) was an American folk singer best remembered for his work on the soundtracks of composer Ennio Morricone.
Tevis met Morricone while living in Italy in the 1960s, and suggested working together. A 1962 recording of the song "Pastures of Plenty" by Woody Guthrie became a small hit single (RCA PM45-3115). Morricone later reworked it into the title theme of the famous Spaghetti Western movie "A Fistful of Dollars" directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood (without Tevis lyrics). Later they continued to collaborate on a number of recordings. Tevis is credited with singing the lyrics of songs on the soundtracks of several Spaghetti Western movies, including:
Tevis was also credited with singing the theme song of the animated television series Underdog (TV series) in the 1960s.

In the early 1960's, Ennio Morricone did the musical arrangements for American folk singer Peter Tevis. Among their collaborations was the old Woody Guthrie song "Pastures of Plenty" which Morricone later turned into the theme for "Fistful of Dollars". Also included here is another Morricone/Tevis song "Notte Infinita". You can hear how both of these songs defined what would later become the "spaghetti western" sound. Sadly, Peter Tevis passed away in 2006, nearly losing his singing voice in the preceding years.

I got an Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/veronicaequestrienne/ First of all, I was so determent on getting that gel-pad on right, I totally forgot I didn't have the saddlepad on. But when I realized that I thought I was a real idiot haha. The other part, I was SO sure the saddle was on wrong, but then I could feel Bliss was leaning to one side, so I went for the bridle. And yes, I had socks around the bit because it was so could I had to keep it warm. My bestie was filming, she is the best friend in the whole wide world and we always have fun in the barn. She did an amazing job untacking. As you can see Bliss is a really patient horse, I love her to bits and I'm so happy I get to borrow her. She has really been a horse through thick and thin these past 1,5 year, she is the best....

Professor Steve Jones, FRS UCL Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment Snails are beautiful and decorative animals, with many species marked by patterns on the shell that differ from one individual to another. But why? Prof Jones has spent forty years trying to find out. It might seem a trivial question but it is at the heart of genetics: why is there inherited diversity in almost every creature? The answer, perhaps surprisingly, is also hinted at by some of our greatest artists.
Here is an Update on "Haat Wheelz" the fearful 5 yo endurance bred Arabian Gelding I have in for training. We were a bit delayed on doing his first ride as he blew some abscesses in his right front foot two weeks into training and was out for 2 weeks. But we have gotten back on track and overcome quite a bit to come to this first ride today. This has to be the noisiest video to date , from airplanes and traffic to a car across the street with a fan belt loose squealing after I got on and couldn't cut it out. So my apologies ,just turn the sound down a little. Stay tuned for more from Wheelz!
