The Weeknd
Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye (born 16 February 1990), known professionally by his stage name The Weeknd (pronounced "the weekend"), is a Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer. In late 2010, Tesfaye anonymously uploaded several songs to YouTube under the name "The Weeknd". He released three nine-track mixtapes throughout 2011: House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, which were critically acclaimed. The following year, he released a compilation album Trilogy, thirty tracks consisting of remastered versions of the mixtape material and three additional songs. It was released under Republic Records and his own label XO.
In 2013, he released his debut studio album Kiss Land, which was supported by the singles "Kiss Land" and "Live For". His second album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which became his first number one album on the Billboard 200, included the top-five single "Earned It" and produced the number-one singles "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face". The songs have simultaneously held the top three spots on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart, making him the first artist in history to achieve this.

"America's Funniest Home Videos" fixture Bob Saget and longtime "Full House" dad is taking his talents to the Broadway stage for 'Hand to GOD'. The play is summed up well by its title as he plays a Lutheran minister attempting to save a kid who has a puppet that could be the devil. Interesting to say the least and you know with Saget involved there are going to be more than a few laughs.
During the visit to Sway in the Morning, he keeps the entire crew on their heels with a live rendition of the Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" before telling us how drugging himself was the best way out of an awkward date once upon a time. Hilarious. The extremely quick witted Saget has to be one of the most entertaining interviews you will see this week!

The Weeknd's year couldn't be going any better, as he literally has songs replacing one another at the No. 1 spot on the charts. With the song of the summer, "Can't Feel My Face," a hit album, a performance on the iconic Saturday Night Live all under his belt, the Weeknd's next step is a huge North American tour featuring Travi$ Scott, Banks and Halsey. So, it only makes sense that Rolling Stone pegged the singer for the cover story of their latest issue.
The piece, "Sex, Drugs and R&B;: Inside the Weeknd's Dark Twisted Fantasy," dives into a slew of very personal, and revealing topics. He discusses his humble beginnings (his mother worked several jobs while his grandmother would often look after him), dropping out of school and his early insecurity about interviews. He dove into his drug-filled years that inspired his early works, House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes Of Silence (that were later repackaged and sold as Trilogy), and how he dealt with addictions. "I never needed detox or anything," he said. "But I was addicted in the sense of 'fuck, I don't want to spend this day without getting high.'"
Other highlights include the details behind his relationship with Bella Hadid, and how he originally asked her to be on the album artwork for Beauty Behind The Madness. "My motive was literally to work with her, but once she declined, 'I was like, All right, cool — we can meet up face-to-face.'"
